This man is so positive-minded. I watched this interview, he never said anything negative about anybody he has worked with or met. He is equally respectful. Learnt a lot from him. Great interview!
I thought so too. He has such a positive, forward-looking disposition. It shatters some of the notions we might have about the connections between the lifestyle of musicians and morality..., or even Godliness. He is a good soul.
This man uncle Feyi really unveiled Bisade Ologunde a.k.a Lagbaja ❤ i swear i used to tell some of my colleagues that lagbaja is a unique and complete musician 👌 a rare role model to us all personally i miss everything about Lagbaja in the music industry 💯, God bless him he made a great impacts ❤...but he quits too early, how i wish he is still releasing singles if not Albums honestly ❤am glad i met him ones in ibadan then at one of my boss "Ayefele's album lunch over a decades ago, thank you uncle Lagbaja wherever you are under the sky we are still learning lots from all your Albums sir❤❤
Wow! Please bring this perfect gentleman forward for another exclusive interview again. Character, personality, knowledge, understanding, wisdom, delivery, scholarship intelligence, name it, he's got them all. Above all, his humility and candour are exemplary❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤
........after reading, my wife was so impressed by the quality of the great gentleman, and told me without equivocation that I should add the following to those qualities and virtues i already listed - superior diction , charm, composure and calm, even when stormy questions were fielded. Agbaletu should continue to bring "egg heads" like this for interviews. It was an academic discourse! Kudos to the anchor or moderator too.
This man is an epitome of positivity, gentility, peace and tranquility. So eloquent, always focusing on the good part of everyone he worked with. May God grant him long life to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
Wow!!! We refer to this uncle as Feyi re, ilu re (Feyi and drums 🥁 are like 5 & 6), excellent drummer, and very humble human being. He used to play for RCCG festivals of life in those days. Great personality 👌🏾. I'm glad you have the platform to tell your stories, Uncle Feyi. Thank you Agbalatu..👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm not a fan of Juju music or anything like that and just happen to stumble on this video but I can tell you that I enjoyed every bit of it. The man, Feyisara, is quite, I can tell just from the way he speaks, an intelligent and humble man.
Hello Feyi. Good to see you with the white biabia 😂. Anyways some corrections. Egbon Bisade's attempt to establish a band did not begin with Lagbaja. I remember in 1988 he used to belong to a 2 man jazz band called Itan. I believed he used to play the bass then and egbon Enitan his colleague used to play the sax. I know this well because they featured at Jazz 38 Ikoyi where I used to play with baba Tunde and France.... the extended family. I was then in unilag and you were in yabatech but squatting in lag. Then there was Bisade and colours when he became a fully blown sax player. We used to jam then at jazz et al (bread and butter on Allen) every friday. He became lagbaja after all these experimentations. So the audition you claimed to have attended must have been in the mid 80s. My point is : egbon Bisade's Journey did not start as lagbaja. Heck he even produced Fuji sandoka's album in the 80. The first Fuji album to feature the bass guitar. My name is Rinde williams. I left Nigeria in 1997 so you may not remember me.
Boss Babarinde I knew you when k was a little boy when I was in Oshodi. You had played along side other instrumentalist in the likes of late Kebe the talking drummer, and Atuma the sax player.
Hi. Feyi, it's good to hear you speaking on Agbaletu i remember how great and talented you are on the drums, Femi is a blessing to the music world i also love to hear from Tayo Longe a very great and talented bass guitarist. I enjoyed watching you playing drums. Cheers.
This man is a legend honestly. This interview is grand, no sentence of his where he slags off anyone throughout. May the Almighty continue to bless you. What a positive soul❤❤
@@akinomolaoye9044thanks for the clarification. I was thinking he is Lagbaja too. So the title is not actually unveiling of Lagbaja. But really, when are we going to see the great Lagbaja? Otedola and Adenuga must pay for this project
Eyan gidi. No toxic statements. Refreshing. Sir Richard Cole is a fantastic drummer. Mr. Itunu (Abass) Abariko is also a generous individual and a phenomenal drummer that influenced a lot of guys back in the day.
So much character on display here. Simply exemplary from such a highly talented person. I remember the Webisco music as a primary school pupil living with my die-hard music loving uncle in Badagry.
Yaba ooo. Labore et Veritate !!! Yaba The Great. In my memories are : Rectors Okufi and Adegbile; Presido SU Kola Oladoja !!!!, Iron Lady Mrs Adelowo, Dr Grillo. TEE organization and Rotaract clubs one ❤️
I missed an opportunity of meeting Uncle Bisade at Motherland.... I remember writing an official letter to him to be mentored by him but the day I went there to meet with him , Mr . Olayinka Oyedeji the then Manager told me that he was very busy and didn't have time to tutor me. That day I saw him "Uncle Bisade" at Motherland but did not have any conversation with him.
The album titled LAGBAJA did not have ‘Nigeria l’oko iya won’. That was a single track he released 24 hours after Nigeria won the soccer gold at Atlanta 96. That was even after his sophomore album as LAGBAJA which contained COOLU TEMPER, MUMMY HI, BABY TANI KO FE WA and a Jazz sample of K1’s BABY MI SHOW COLOR E. The songs on the album titled LAGBAJA include, SIDE BY SIDE, IKIRA, NAIJA GO SWEET AGAIN, SWEET MOUTH, NO TOUCHING, CAMPUS etc That album was late 1994, not 1995.
@ZoeyBe did you also know Kayode, the red lip guy that also played drums there? I know Lagbaja showed up to Daystar few times when they were at that Oregun junction. Good ol days, haha
I think Lagbaja chose him as he was looking for someone with lesser skills who could be imparted easily with new beats, imparting someone like Kay Sticks who is more proficient would have been challenging to direct and instruct to play to a specified particular pattern.
It will be difficult for Lagbaja to remain anonymous if he is still singing. Media and photography tools have changed and become ubiquitous. His real pictures and face will surface if he starts playing actively again.

Fantastic interview. Watching this on a Sunday morning didn't allow me to go to church...
I love this guy, very straight forward.
Feyi is a great drummer I just like him because he is so humble and always with big smile
I love Lagbaja's music since the 90s and watching an interview which centres around him gladdens my heart.

Excellent interview my brother!!! Nice to see you on exclusive chat. What an all rounder you are brother F.
Wow, Lagbaja! Wish i could understand all that he says... I'm glad to see how he looks for the first time. Great man, he is.
Just to clarify, this is not Lagbaja.
This man was the first drummer for the Lagbaja band, fka Colours Band. His name is Feyisara Akinwunmi.

Feyi is a fantastic player and very humble. He is a true gentleman. When I was learning to play drums, he was my mentor then.
Yes o Uncle Abass is still alive and kicking.👍👍👍
His interview is full and deep and revealing
I'd like to have this mans personality. He spoke no ill, he spoke with no "poped-shoulder"
Going grate Agbaletu...more wisdom sir
His humility is top-notch.
I appreciate his philosophy about life. His preference for ọmọlúwàbí in people over dexterity cuts my fancy.
I love this interesting
Richard Cole, also played and recorded some albums with Sir Victor Uwaifo
And with the Bongos Ikwue and the Groovies...
This man has a very good memory. With time, place, names....

Dean of old skool! ❤
Kunle sticks is very very good. He graduated with 1st class honors from The depth of Music OAU. He is now a Phd holder.
He's a great guy. Led Day Star music dept to wonderful heights. ❤😀😀👍🏾
Ksticks, a phenomenon...he was my choir master in Daystar.
Feyisara 🎉🎉🎉
Feyi, you forgot to mention Kunle Olofinjana, Ras Kimono’s Drummer / back up.
He has said in most times personally that he never wanted fame.
How do we who are not Nigerians but interested in this content understand without subtitles/ closed captions? #AfricanStoriesRetold1
@agbaletuTV, please do something about this. Thank you.
Feels like I’ve watched this before. Is it a repeat?
The names he is dropping are fine gentlemen drummers Laolu Akintobi played the drums on the band BLO
Feyisara tia, younger brother to Egbon Jide Cord
K sticks played for daystar xtian center. One of African best drummers
He didn't only play, he was our Choir Director
@ZoeyBe did you also know Kayode, the red lip guy that also played drums there? I know Lagbaja showed up to Daystar few times when they were at that Oregun junction. Good ol days, haha
He was right. The circulating pic of Bisade on social media isn't that of him at all. It's just to create a buzz.
I think Lagbaja chose him as he was looking for someone with lesser skills who could be imparted easily with new beats, imparting someone like Kay Sticks who is more proficient would have been challenging to direct and instruct to play to a specified particular pattern.
K-Stick's talent was and is still intimidating..one of a kind!!
Same reason i didn't do music, i so hate the superstar lifestyle
Am surprised he did not mention LATE TONY ALLEN.
It is not necessary he looked up to Tony Allen. He might not like his styles. He might as well forgot to mention his name.
Tony Allen went to France after he left Flea's band. Their paths might not have crossed.
WISDOM
I have been under Uncle Lagbaja's Music bootcamp in the 2000's. And all this Uncle said about him is absolutely not incorrect!
