Thank you so much Ranja! 💕💕 I've been going through your video exercises for about 4 days now (quite randomly 😅 but together subject wise) and I've noticed such an improvement in my voice already. Less strain as well. I'd been singing since I was 15 years old, until about 6 years ago, when I quit the church choir. (I'll be 59 this Fall) I want to join the church choir again and I'm working on getting my voice back in shape, and even better than before (which is average 😅). I've always made for a good "back up singer" 😅 and I want to strengthen my voice. 😏 I am an alto, and I have recently discovered the Canadian Tenors, and I love singing their songs, but they're not exactly easy, vocally. Go big or go home, right? 😅🤦🤦 I feel they are great songs to get back in the game based on my music knowledge and experience with both woodwind instruments and my vocal instrument, and working on the areas I need to improve, but I was straining my voice with the Tenors' songs. I found I need help in control, pitch (a bit), and breath support to sing long notes (and phrasing), and this video tackles all three at once! 👏👏👏 The videos on resonance, have been most helpful. Some other things I'd been doing right but not consistently, and your videos called my attention to them, therefore improving my control. Since starting on your methods, I've noticed an overall improvement 👏👏👏 but I do have a long way to go. My next subject is transitioning between head and chest voice, which I need A LOT of help with. I am looking forward to those videos, but I want to thank you for your hard work and generosity to help singers around the world! 💖💖💖
Will you do a video on vibrato? I have never had vibrato, and I had no idea how to train it in to my vocals, but I finally found one that made sense mechanically, and it has helped some, but I would love to see how you would explain the mechanics and train vibrato for those who don't have natural vibrato like myself. Thanks!! 💖
If there is one, will someone point me in the right direction?

Can you hurt your voice by singing too much? For example doing no singing and then doing 2 hours on a karaoke machine?

this is so great! Thanks Ranja! Does the sound that comes out has to be pretty? or this is to build muscle first? Cuz my straight is still pitchy AF, but im hoping i just need more practice. Also there is so much going on - breath support, the jaw, shoulders, open face, soft palette up... ITS NOT SIMPLE AT ALL. Thank u for your amazing content!

I use this as a warm up to stretch and find coordination. I noticed practicing this time I have gunk on my vocal chords above C4...I thought hey just sing through it..now I'm thinking horrible idea...it's like squeezing through vocal chord irriation...any thoughts?? Clearing gunk and the idea of singing through it?

    Hello there Sing Geek ,
You have a very wonderful talent helping me out !! I’ve got a Karaokes Machine to sing 🎤 in !! I just started to try to single !! I’m 63 years old !! My favorite group singers are the Vogues ,
especially the late Bill Burkette !! I sing 🎤 low !! I like not all but some of their songs !! I can’t sing Soprano but I could sing 🎤 Bass and Tenor !! Men sing low and women sing 🎤 Soprano , higher voices than any man could !! You’re a very wonderful woman 👩 and singing teacher 👩‍🏫 !! 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎

it's because you're engaging the roof of your mouth and yawning mid way os actually a good sign because it means you're doing it right 👍🎉
