- Friends, we come to the wonderful Feast of the Holy Family. Over the years on this feast day, I’ve certainly preached on the dynamics of the Holy Family, on Mary, and of course on the Lord, but I don't think I’ve ever focused on St. Joseph. Well, that ends today. Let’s look at four dimensions to the holiness of this greatest male saint in the history of the Church.
I attended Saint Joseph grammar school choir and altar boy the happiest time in my life 68 years old now so thankful for the education I received from the devout nuns priests and lay teachers.Thank you bishop for helping us make sense of our world and how to live as a Catholic.
Weird tale...about 2 years ago, my electric shower wouldn't switch off. I looked up the problem and found it was a minor fault but needed a plumber. On a Sunday evening.! I went back to the bathroom, kept pressing the power button with no success and it occurred to me to pray to St Joseph. I pressed the button one more time and the water shut off. Never malfunctioned again. God is good.
My name is Joseph. My grandfather was born on St. Joseph's day 1924 and was aptly named Joseph. He was the protector of not only his wife and children but to me and my brothers. I pray to St. Joseph that I can carry that mantle for my wife and children (my son's middle name is Joseph in hopes that someday he will be a protector as well)

Yes we all attempt to be protectors of family an the word for sure not an easy task. I have always been a dreamer that all will come to know the son who thru his teaching leadership an love will bring us all to joy an peace May we realize our dreams of faith bring us to unity with Jesus thank you Bishop Barron I learn so much from you , You are our Saint Joseph an spiritual leader Amen

I thought betrothed meant they were legally married and the fact Mary was surprised at the angel’s announcement was due to her having made a vow of celibacy. In ancient Judaism there was no engagement as we know it in the modern sense. When Mary is pregnant and they are going as a family to Bethlehem she is referred to as betrothed again.
