The government's doesn't give a crap otherwise everyone would get a £2000 pay rise like the Mps are getting.

And if you get CA, they cap how much you can earn at around £130/wk.

Why are the top execs still overpaid as compared to medics

If the carer is also disabled & in receipt of disability benefits, in order to receive carers allowance DWP remove an element worth the same amount of money from the carers disability benefits, so it’s not worth those people claiming it.
If unpaid carers are being counted by how many claim carers allowance the actual figures will be way, way over what’s being reported.
How do i know this? I’m one of them.

No, you're talking about the means test that gives you your Applicable Amount. Carers Allowance is classed as income for Income Support/ Universal Credit.

@@truckerfromreno errr no I’m not. They remove the severe disablement element if you apply for carers allowance, as I said, I know, because I’m living it.

Then the council throw you out of your home when the parent you care for passes away.

@@KW-ro5ow They will if you haven't already sorted these issues out. Seek advice well in advance and take the necessary action.

@@truckerfromreno I think the bedroom tax will also price me out even if they let me stay.

The problem is the total that the government says you need to live on. My Carer's Allowance goes up, my Income Support goes down by exactly the same amount so I'm not even 1p better off.

    • @truckerfromreno
      @truckerfromreno 2 роки тому

Actually there has never been a studying to assess how much ' you need to live on', it's just an empty phrase used by DWP when calculating someone's applicable amount.

I cared for my Mum for 15 years, with the last 3 years needing 24/7 care, which meant I had to quit my job.
I got roughly £65 a week to live on, from which I had to run a car, which was primarily to transport her to Hospital appointments etc.
I burnt through any savings I had, as it's impossible to live on £65 a week, running my car and any other things my Mum needed.
My Mum was terminally ill and recently died.
When fuel costs increase in October, I will more than likely have to have my Gas and Electricity supplies, shut off.......
Winter 2022 for me, is going to be hell, basically.
By caring for my Mum, I saved the government hundreds of thousands of pounds......... and this is what I get in return....
I'm tired and battered from the stress and grief and don't have any fight left to be honest...... but hey, the government couldn't care less...
What will be, will be, I guess.

My Mam is in a hospice and today the council told me I can't live here anymore. I'm devastated.

Carers are given a measly £81 per week to live on, shoved in a corner and society just forgets about them. That's the truth

An absolute disgrace a carer should be paid less than someone on the brooo

Tenancy succession is not allowed unless you're married or living together. So you can care for a parent for ten years and it counts for nothing. You will be thrown out of your home. DON'T BE A CARER. Get carers in at the expense of the tax payer if you can and live your life because before you know it your years will fly by. I have no family, children because I was a carer. Now my Mam is end of life care in a hospice and today the council told me I can't succeed the tenancy. I repeat DON'T BE A CARER.

That's heartbreaking. Sorry to hear both terrible pieces of news. Make sure you go to the Citizens Advice as soon as possible, maybe there is a way forward on the tenancy. Good luck.

It’s discrace full, the government have set a cap on what you can earn as a career to under £250 a week with out having careers money reduced it’s a disgrace of a system we have

    • @matthewmachin5614

And to put a tin hat on it you pay tax on your ca, I don’t understand how they think that this is moral! Surely the career should not be penalised for going to work, effectively having two jobs? Basically forcing people into poverty if you worked at Asda and then at b&q, Asda wouldn’t turn around and say we’re not paying you this week because you have earned too much at b&q !
      It’s lunacy

I've been a full-time unpaid carer for a family member now for a over a decade and I refer to it as "Modern day Slave Labour" and because it is.. Imagine a "job" that pays less than min wage, no days off,no cushie little Christmas Do to look forward to,no holidays, no hope of anything really . .Just swept under the carpet to be trod all over.. Only just the other year did the Gov decide my brother was actually worth a hoot and now they at least get some raised living standards ♥️ that took decades upon decades... It's all shockingly horrible. And don't dare tell me there's support out there... Probably is but I notice everything asks how many kids I have here, the answer is none.. no wages = no family to start, now I'm 48 .. and the forms all say Declined cos 1 person isn't relevant.. Welcome to the Real Slave Trade, founded on Love ♥️ Then melted down and twisted and forged into what it is today and the feeling i have inside of me today, I'm sorry folks but I lack the word to describe it.. All you News Broadcasters companies should be ashamed to not highlight what full-time unpaid carers endure.. Maybe it's because we're scared for fear of our family member finding out and that would definitely cause ripples in a relationship.. Oh don't think .Gov think-tanks don't gamble that as God and end all to any posts like mine happening..and people speaking out. . I havent been able to eat properly nor let alone think about heating for years pmsl because it's so not funny.. But now I heard You are all facing drama lama on heating and elec costs . That's laughably 😂 Silver lining is I've been forged into a poverty living machine ♥️ suck it up Buttercups 🙀♥️😂😂😂😂

And the BBC today interviews one person who is asked on world wide TV the question of sacrifice with the new rise in energy costs... And a main reply was maybe now not being able to dry her hair as it takes generally 45mins to do... Stood in usual light weight top etc etc.. Hardship? Oh she had 3 kids , K'ching.. great nails too camera person loved them 😂 it's shocking to watch , actually disgusting to watch.. you News things are so not pleasant.

And to note all carers ♥️ but I specifically calling out the b'shit full-time unpaid carers have to endure and their lives that matter.. And NOTHING is spoken about and yet acknowledged as to be happening. I am proof and I am alive still to type such truth, so F anything that wishes to call me out as innacurate or worse still , no there was "help out there, you just didn't.." ... 😂
