This track is brilliant , the phrasing of how the lyrics fall into place in the music is genius, it sounds like they're going in two different directions and that's not easy Cant wait to hear the rest of they're stuff . Espionage is a nice track where the video ends with Mars which is appropriate , being the God of war. Get it , espionage ? war ? lol.

I feel like the first Preocccupations album is their magnum opus, but I will say this is growing on me, even if the vocal are less compelling and "hookey."
Just read the article on Quillette (quillette.com/2018/09/30/the-implosion-of-canadas-music-industry/), bought the album in support, but mostly because the music is incredible. I'm 50 and this is bringing me back to my best teenage / young adult music years. Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Peter Murphy, New Order, Joy Division, Visage, Tears for Fears etc.
One of the best live bands I've seen in all my 37 years. So tight. If you get a chance definitely go see them. As I get older I have a harder time finding newer bands I really love but these guys do it for me.
Best lp yet! they just keep upping the ante... and this song as an opener...a dark melodic punch in the face you keep wanting to hit you again and again

Women was great, Vietcong was able to live up to Women, but when they switched up their sound they just went into a direction that either im not finding suits their strengths, or they're not putting out something as interesting as their former projects. I dont think this is shit music, mind you, and im reserving judgement until I hear the context of a while album, but having loved where rhey came from sonically, I feel as though they can do much better, if not create something more unique than this. The song is just boring to me.
