- I firmly believe that everyone should be using some form of spaced repetition to learn. It makes the entire process more effective and efficient. But implementation isn't always simple. So the point of this video is to break down the concept of spaced repetition into different methods of application so that you can decide how you want to apply it to your own study routine.

Man, I love these “X ways to do Y in X minutes” type of videos 🙌🏽
Hahah glad you do, they are not easy to make 😅
true, I watch those on my break and I still get all the info for my personal life. I like how it's quick and concise.
Take x = infinite, you want love it 😅😅 no offense
Ngl, it shouldve been X wayx to do Y in Z minutes with spaced repetition
@@markl4730 here value of X is same
NOTES:
Space out your studies. Don't cram.
Level 1
1. delayed review
- space across multiple days
- when you first learn something allow yourself time to forget it, do something else like review tmrs lecture, so time has passed and you can go back it each day
2 interleaving your topics
- space across a single day
- study CH1 in morning, afternoon, and evening. Study CH1 even as you study CH2 and 3
- good for cramming
3. end of day review
- we forget half of material by end of day
- run through questions you wrote in class
Level 2: each repitition should be done in increasing interval
4. Shoebox method AKA Leightner
- involves 5 boxes:
1)Every day
2)Every other day
3)Every week
4)Every other week
5) Retry
Anytime you get a box wrong put that flashcard to to box 1, or previous box for repitition
5. Kanban Board
Electronic version of box, so you move it along columns
Can use trello or notion
6. Study Timetable
- Dates, time, days
- Double your days, study it every 2, 4, 8 etc days or fibonacci sequence
7. Retrospective revision timetable.
- arrange based by topics/chapter, then dates on next column then highlight in green/yellow/red (aim to turn everything green)
- Keep studying reds, until they turn green
- Advantage: study based on weaknesses
8. Retrospective outliner
- Apply to individual content in topics, so you can highlight syllabus/questions based on how much you know them
- RemNote allows you to tag #difficult #easy etc
Tier 3 : max spaced repetition benefits
- Uses algorithms based on your mastery
- Use app with spaced repetition algorithms
10. Custom spaced repetition within note taking app
BEST WAY= RemNote
- Only app with spaced repetition, seamless
- Can customise by preference
- Automatically generates spaced repetition flashcards
- It’s like Notion + Anki combined for productivity
Mistakes
- Got to combine spaced repetition with active recall
- Practice problems,
thanks, appreciate it!
Thank you
Thanks
basic
Delayed review: Leave sometime to forget the material (MORE EFFORT=MORE RETENTION)
Interleaving: Instead of block studying interleave them. (Use it for cramming)
End of day review: Do as the name suggests
medium
Shoebox method: Each repitition should be in an increasing interval
For example: Everyday < Every after day < Every week < Every other weak .....
Prospective timetable: scheduling your repitition ahead of time double the days of review
Restrospective timetable: You write your topics and study them and see what is your level and record it in an excel sheet and studying the harder topics first
Hard
Apps with algorythm
Best app for spaced repitition is rem note
Isn't Delayed review and End of day review contradictory?
I've been binging your videos a lot for a few days now, and you guys honestly helped out SO much. I love your videos very much, they're simple and valuable. Also, Remnote is literally the best thing ever, really helping me out a lot. It's been like a missing piece that I've always needed and I can't believe it's free. I appreciate you guys so much, thank you!

I love that this type of content comes to my feed now when i start my finals tomorrow without studying at all
it's been 2 years, how did those finals go? How are your finals going now?
I love how he puts ' shallow understanding, stress and procrastination ' as benefits
Love this video❤ Your study techniques have helped me a lot in law school. My final exams are in 2 months. Time flies! Been using Remnote since October too. It's helped organise my notes. Thanks, guys 🍁🌻🍁🌻🍁
Best video on spaced repetition and loved the interleaving concept, that is new to me and I loved the visuals !!

your videos honestly are amazing!
Please speak about a full-time students with alot of lectures (previous lectures and new lectures take every day in the whole week except a holiday ) HOW can they organize studying and spaced repetitions for old lectures and new lectures IN OTHER WORDS how can they manage their times to cover all the materials.
I'm pharmacy student.
Excellent video. Clear. Concise and very accessible strategies to improve learning. Thank you.
I use flash cards app with algorithm but I now after this I'll use the retrospective Timetable with exam practicing , with me revising practically everyday with space repetition and learning new materials , the day ends without me doing any exam practicing, and even if I do I can't keep track if actually masteref the chapter , thank you! You life savours !
I love how you have it divided into the different sections so that you can see it divided and you won’t get lost in the video
Anything to make it easier

Nice editing 💓💓
I’m loving the content ! 🥰
Thanks man!
Hi, love this channel, I'm studying my architect's license exams which total is 6 exams, and I'm studying it with remnote, I love it, hope you guys can do a video about after failing exams and for retake, how to study that part and how to motivate yourself about retake, I want to hear your suggestions on that .
For retake, you gotta identify your weaknesses from before and focus on those. Then spend more time with practice tests. You got this
I LOVE YOUR CONTENTS
hope I can work with you guys after I graduate, I just love remote!
I really need to start using rem notes, because it seems to be life-changing in terms of practical activities.
Thanks brother for explaining so well. Really appreciate that.
Glad it was helpful! Are you a fan of any of the techniques discussed in the video?
“We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes - understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.” Sharing some love from small UA-camr. I am believe in you even if I don’t know you. Thumbs for the interesting video everyone 👍👏
This right here
First 💥💥 Congrats 50K Subs Mike and Matty 🌟
Thanks man we all on this together
@@KoiAcademy So happy 🤗
I've combine the delayed review method with stop and recite active recall, works wonder for me :)
Yay science lol
RemNote is amazing but it's too complex for some. I really hope you can make it simpler and look better. It should have blown up by now but it's just too freaking hard to use at the start.
Yep thats the problem
I have been watching your every video from the day I subscribed
And all the videos have something that's helpful for each and every student
Thankful to have you here with us :)
when i was watching through 1-10, i was like “man… some of these seem tough with having the responsibility to follow through with/adjust study plans and being honest with what you know/don’t know.” but then i realized i only think this way because i use remnote and remnote takes care of everything for me 😎
this is gold
Wow UA-cam recommendations really know what I need ,Gotta be careful don’t know what they will recommend when I feel something else🙈👀
This is good content!! 🎉
I will give this a try
Love the Zelda theme tracks playing in the background in y’all’s videos
Why’s bro so goated?
This is so helpful, thank you for making the video! What is the nintendo switch looking thing?:)
really got this video on the right time
its going to be cramming night for me
but i will not forget to interleaving ....
I am going to have exam on day 1st of next week..,😑😑😓
Hey im in high school.I really love your channel a lot. Thanks for the information. I really have a lot to cover and am struggling with chemistry. Do you know some channels or free apps where I can learn chemistry?
i still dk how i got into med school and didnt use that yet! looks promising!
so if im a beginner i shout start by tier 1 right?
Gotta say...he built it up really nicely for remnote...good job mate...imma use remnote
✌️
I love Remnote
It changed the way I study
Thanks
Really love this, can't wait to try it on my lazy ass self!
Lol you got this
Please make a video on times of active recall techniques. Especially for finance stuff
The video you request is linked at the end of this video
refresher end of day
Nice video..could you do another one about RemNote SRS system and other recommended custom SRS settings? I watched some implementations in Anki, but I would like to see it in action with RemNote itself
Sounds good 👌
at this point each of your videos are just promotion for remnote lol. respect it haha
Tryna make it seamless lol
Hi, I have a question on RemNotes and space repetition. Some SRS apps use push notifications to remind me that it’s time to review my cards. I am an Apple user and you don’t have an iOS app yet. What is a workaround? How do you send timed reminders (if you do) for proper space repetition? I apologize if there is an obvious answer, but I just started playing with RemNotes and would like to know before I spend too much time setting it up. Thanks
Ig SR AR and interleaving + retrospective is combined package
Hey Mike and Matty, I just discovered your channel and have really found interesting everything I've looked at so far!!
Particularly in relation to your vids about the science of learning (on which you based this and other videos, to do with other learning techniques (interleaving, spacing, active recall)), I was wondering if you had any insight into how these techniques apply differently in relation to different types of knowledge?
Your background is in medicine (based in natural sciences, to do with scientifically testing hypotheses in experiments) which as I understand may be a different kind of learning or knowledge to: (1) habitual / bodily learning (teaching your body to skateboard or learn the drums, for example) as well as; (2) knowledge in the humanities (which can be more discursive, open-ended, theoretical and abstract than in natural sciences). I am studying a PhD in a humanities subject, so am fascinated by how learning and knowledge may differ or overlap with different fields or academic disciplines.
So glad you found us and Welcome to the family! The science we cover also applies to the habitual/physical skills (some of the original research looking at surgeons, baseball players, etc.) would recommend books like make it stick by p brown and Range by Epstein for more reading :)
I love ur videos.....😊
IT would be wonderful if you could do a walkthrough of u using Remote, it a bit too difficult for me to understand.
Have you seen our separate RemNote UA-cam channel?
I used Remnote during last semester and it was a great help tho I wasn’t able to do the space repetition as I also needed to balance making flashcards, doing activities and attending the required 8 hour classes a day. Hopefully, I’ll do better in my second year.
How to download rem note ?
Basically an 11 minute ad to buy remnote. If you watch his active recall video, he says that was his super power. Guy has multiple superpowers.
You are so underrated 😔 BTW tons of thanks for the video.
we try our best. Next up 100 ways
Great content as usual guys :)
I’ve been trying to do space repetition but I don’t know how I learn best. Should I be rewriting, rereading, or listening to lectures or just doing the flash card method when it comes to looking at my notes? I know you said it’s not what you do but how you it but How do I get the information to stick? I want a good gpa and to actually learn the knowledge but I’m struggling with studying.
Yes please answer this question Im struggling with this too^
The thing is that I need to much time to go through one lecture alone...would it be smarter to just skim over the questions but do them 3x in a day for example or is it smarter to do them once a day but thorougly?
do you specific book that you read on spaced repitition?
Second 🤟, Btw Congo 🎉💯🔥 for 50k Subs !
Aww thanks 🙏😇🥳
what's the difference between distributed practice and spaced repetition?
Genuine question. What's the difference between rote learning and spaced repetition. I know the latter is the best way to study while the former is inefficient. But looking at both of them, I can't seem to pinpoint the difference
Nice
I love that word marinate...something that I can relate to ...cooking
While Anki is a useful tool, it doesn't seem to automatically create a spaced repetition schedule or send reminders for study sessions. Is there an application specifically designed to do this, which would provide reminders and create an automated spaced repetition plan?
Wait so when using remnote, do i do revision outline only, flashcards only, or both? Am confused
I’m having trouble in applying spaced repetition if there are huge chunks of information/topics to be studied (licensure exams). How do we space these all out for an entire review, say 5 months before the exams?
Study plan
Write it on a bond paper or something bigger
Hi! When are you going to release the Apple iOS Version?
I have multiple question regarding this.
what to do after a topic goes green? When should one study the topic again?
How is it studying less?
The old methods(where people don't follow this method ; traditionally what they were using, lets say, they needed to study for 3 hours through the topic.
But with this method, lets say people are reading 1.5 hour for the same topic. But, aren't they spending 1-1.5 hour creating flashcards, toggles in Anki/RemNotes, creating mnemonics etc?
Again, after completion of making this aren't they spending time revising it?
About the Fibonacci series, upto how much would be the limit since formula is (n+n) and is it really going to be the limit?
So, how is spaced repetition time efficient?
@CajunKoiAcademy For example: if someone is learning a skill that builds up on a previous chapter. How do you go on to chapter 2 and 3 without completing or getting full info of chapter 1. Because chapter one builds up on chapter 2, 3 and so on. Kindly explain this type of situation on how to use interleaving in this type of situation. Thank you
When will be remnote available for ipad? Please make it available on ipad soon..
Can you suggest how to start studying when your unable to do
i'm still in high school and i don't know how i can do all these when i have 10 different classes. I still want to leave some time for extracurriculars but i don't have any idea on how i'll manage my time.
