    For me the only problem is how the tv show power armor is inconsistent. In the very first scene a bear totally wrecks a character wearing one, while in the other another character literally grounds a building with it. In other cases, I absolutely adore how they made the power armor a walking tank basically (as it should be)

      I agree. Maximus in the armor shows that it can generate a lot of force. I think Titus should have been able to punch that Yao-Guai's head clean off.

      he didn't really take down a building. he threw a rock/boulder at a decaying already ruined debris of a house and toppled it over some more. and titus was a coward who ran away and fell over causing him to be mauled bc he hit his head. i don't get why you're acting so dense to make a point that can be easily disproven

    Problem: the whole bug out feature in game mechanics when a fusion core is removed or runs out of power should absolutely not be just a game mechanic and would absolutely be a baseline feature of the frame. Armored vehicles are all supposed to have a bug out factor in case you need to get out quick for a variety of reasons for obvious reasons, including if you have power troubles. If I was a writer, I'd just have it to be Maximus was so unfamiliar with the armor he didn't know about the emergency release switch you're supposed to hit with your tongue or something.

    • @ThePoshboy1
      @ThePoshboy1 3 місяці тому

      Or you could write it that the feature was damaged or the weapons producers valued the armor more than the pilot so the failsafe had a "malfunction" whenever it was used outside of testing so that the pilot would remain in the armor with a higher chance of salvaging it.
      But yeah realistically it would be the first feature put into that armor and would be extremely important.

      that's why damage should work more like New Vegas or the classics - meaning that an armor ignores damage below whatever treshold it has for it

      @@kuman0110 That's a good point. A native damage threshold system would solve a lot of problems. Unfortunately Fallout 4 does not have one. People have tried to mod it in. To various success. Never being quite good enough.

    There is a mod called Laser Plasma Pulse Overhaul that makes plasma and pulse, and even lightning more of a threat to power armor while also making laser weapons deal less damage against power armor like in the original fallout games. It also reintroduces ECP and SEC as well as recycling which is pretty cool

    I wish power core also had enviormental features. Like take a power core out, all lights go out and and certain terminals/doors seal, and the inverse. Can let players use cores to open/close parts of a dungeon, and can drain chunk of core, explaining it as jump starting the system

    I would love the ability to mount heavy weapons to power armor so you don't have to take up space in your regular inventory for them. I think two slots would be good. One for a heavy gun like a minigun or gatling laser and one over the shoulder for missile or fat man launches. That would also be a good reason to have multiple suits built for different mission types.

    Needs more comparisons with the older games and their power armor, Fallout 3 included. FO4 stuff is easily worth skipping over to me because of the rampant casualness and streamlining.

    you'll disagree and most others will. but given the role of power armor, its size, and need of it its availability would be quite wide. 1. most army units would have stock; unlike a tank, you can make 3 to 4 over 1 tank, which gives the size and crew difference. 1vs4, no attached gun, general simple operation, and with training a mastery of combat. 2 the maintenance and upkeep would keep them rarely used unless you have sufficient knowledge and capability ( brotherhood of steel and enclave). the important thing is rarity is always relative. the Sherman tank was known to be plentiful. but I try to give those tanks to every person it is rare not enough wherever made. As for power armor, it would be on corpses and parts would be near every military base like in Boston as you have over a dozen if not more on the map including checkpoints and trains shipping the things, etc. same with the fusion cores to supply them. why are they rare on the West Coast simply the enclave and BOS exist. hell in Fallout two their not rare at all you can buy t-51b from a shop and get plenty of enclave suits. the rartiy is a stupid argument for game purposes and or need just like the car in fallout 2 other cars existed check the chop shop. it was only one cause it would diminish the quest. same for power armor in 1 if you could get it early it diminishes the struggle that people want. in truth fallout 4 did it better as they are just like anything else abandoned vehicles for most people are simply gone. as for us any anyone willing can jump in like a tank. and training is only needed to operate it better. maintenance will get you though. like in 4

      Power Armor was intended to self-sabotage upon the death of the wearer iirc, and it was originally custom fitted to each wearer (FO4 is a retcon in that regards to the custom fit, as are FO3 & NV arguably). So rarity would be a thing - especially when they required heavy maintence to remain functioning long-term (T-41 & T-60 were made out of more basic metals, T-54 is made out of advanced plastics & polymers, X-01 is Enclave-only, and all types use advanced machinery to function, nevermind the fusion core - having said core be removable is also a retcon).
      The original suits also did not have a frame like they do in FO4 - another retcon. They were meant to be closer to medieval plate armor, and you'd need assistance to put them on and take them off (Recon armor on FO3 & NV being the body armor "mount" the power armor would be attached to).

    • @pacchar1423
      @pacchar1423 Місяць тому

      @@DBArtsCreators rarity is relative. a thousand cows on my field and one on yours. it's rare for you, not me. thousands of soldiers would have these suits to make them effective. custom fit was never a thing and even if it would be in a range easy to fix in an hour or two. custom is not bespoke. this is not in the games either. In one you repair the suit it's yours, and in 2 just steal a suit from the enclave it fits. The fusion core would be removable as it would be important for maintenance even if no one writes it. the first mention of a fusion core is in tactics by interplay. it runs their gear ie power armor. a type of frame always exists in power armor or it doesn't work and it's just armor. bethesda just made it better or more obvious. know you, models. The T series is 45, 51, and 60 in Fallout 4. The only thing retconning anything is you and your personal bs. Boston was a major military hub it would not be rare or even uncommon to run into a suit there, maintenance is your problem like in the game so get over it. pa is neither rare nor hard to use in Fallout unless hoarded by a faction.

    • @DBArtsCreators

      @@pacchar1423
      200 years ago, a thousand soldiers out of one million had these suits, mostly in foreign lands.
      It is now the present, 200 years later, and perhaps only a hundred suits remain that could at least be repaired to be used, assuming they can be found and aren't already claimed.
      Claim it is "relative" all you want - power armor IS rare, because it is rarely owned, rarely found, and rarely seen post war.
      FO1 & FO2 specifically mentioned the fusion core was built into the suit - it was not something you could just pop out / eject like you do in FO4. At minimum you'd have to take it to a workbench with some basic tools and remove it from its compartment, and given that these things are meant to last for centuries without maintenance and survive gunfire, I would say it'd take more than a couple hours for anyone other than a trained professional to remove safely (assuming they had proper equipment).
      Sizing would not be so easy to adjust, just like how you can't just "adjust" the size of plate armor in a couple hours. It is only for gameplay reasons that you can fit into any power armor you find (like EVERY piece of armor & clothing you find, no matter the size of you or the character you got the armor / apparel from). Narratively, I do recall characters mentioning that each suit had to be sized for the wearer.
      Boston was also ground zero for a nuke and on the East Coast, which was supposed to have been essentially sunk into the ocean per Fallout 1 & Fallout 2. So the retcon there starts with FO3.
      I'm not saying there couldn't be carriage models, but that wasn't the original model and it isn't what was deployed throughout most of the world (hence why there is never even a MENTION of such a system in any Fallout game before 4. Power Armor WAS originally just glorified armor with some extra bells & whistles, not a mech suit).

    • @pacchar1423
      @pacchar1423 Місяць тому

      @@DBArtsCreators and lore builds on itself. each game is a snapshot. the nukes killed millions that's the problem. so let's say 7000 suits survived in the U.S. just cause they never got shipped as replacement parts etc. You had 200 hundred years to figure them out and scrape and great examples to learn from pulse thousands of US soldiers how to take care of power armor for grunts to read. you had time. Fallout One says one thing. fallout 4 fill in the blanks cause all lore is unreliable it changes on a whim of its creator. so one says it was mounted inside. it is on the PA frame. now how do they get to it fallout 4 shows us it's just like a battery. you assume it would take hours or it was barred deep but Fallout 4 informs you it's not. and power armor was never a glorified armor. It's always a mech suit look at the book Starship Troops, or Ironman all from the '60s, and before, all mech suits were just a little different. all had servos/hydraulics etc just shown differently. maybe they just thought the East Coast sank. nukes also don't do what you think. look at Japan Hiroshima is a thriving town/city/place only a decade after the bombs. fallout is almost meant to be an unreliable narrator in its story. cause no one can communicate over the phone so. everything just adds to the lore

      a retcon, by definition, is subtracting from the lore. not adding to it.
      and you are comparing to much weaker nukes (and a much smaller number of nukes) that what was dropped in Fallout's Great War (2077). A single modern-day nuke could potentially turn a city into a crater, let alone dozens - hundreds of them (again, see what's left of the world in FO1 / FO2), and both look worse than FO3's DC. The number fired at the East Coast (especially DC) outnumbered that by dozens at least.
