Yeah, there were 7 rabbits in the park during hunting, I guess she had a hard time deciding upon the target. Once it started departing she had no choice. I didn't expect this outcome, but you're right, less experience
Incredible footage Adrian. They have definitely become used to the urban fringes. Them hare knew the margins available. I don't think the cat was going to get dinner there. Thanks for sharing. Awesome close ups. Mark
Nice young bobcat Adrian!..and wow that's a lot of hare in one place, forgot that's commonplace in Calgary. Those rabbits know they have nothing to fear..strength in numbers. She's a beautiful and healthy looking cat, some very nice close ups. Enjoy
With the restrictions due to the pandemic, the parks have been it seems, very well suited for rabbits. Playground closures is bringing more of them together where can watch for danger in groups. 7 is a large group but not uncommon. I was about to ask you David if you get to see migratory birds over there in Manitoba in great numbers.
@@AdrianCalgary Yes Adrian, but only in spurts now and over about the last decade, whereas prior to that they'd stay rather than move through. Global warming and new migration routes to blame I imagine.
@@AdrianCalgary Yes,I look at it as simply the global weather phenomenon..yesterday morning we had a camp breakfast outside in our backyard and the temp was 2c..wore fleece and toques..by 3pm it was 25c and we got a sunburn..Tuesday they are calling for 28c-30c.. And there is still massive amounts of lake ice still on Lake Winnipeg and Manitoba. No doubt at all that things are changing...and yes we were looking at a few Banff webcams and the snow in the alpine is amazing. Cheers
Interesting, we've got them on every single street in Calgary and didn't know that. I've got to do more research, I love these city wildlife and it makes me sad to see the occasional road kills. Cheers

That's a young female still learning her hunting skills and she's around enough people to be about half tame to get these close ups!!
Cheers for clarifying, Wes! Great help. I'm still trying to find a good thumbnail but it's not easy taking a shot from a video.
@@AdrianCalgary With that many potential targets & open land hunting becomes difficult at best because of the lack of experience....Nice capture!!

@@AdrianCalgary Also I'll add all those rabbits looked to be adults and are probably ready to breed during this time of year!!
@@WesLovelace good point Wes! I've noticed how big they all are . All fast reactions and speed, amazing.
She knows there is food in people's houses. Will she invite herself in?

More like Global Cooling. There is so much snow in the mountains wild cats must come into the city to feed themselves.
My opinion of course

@@batwithglasses it's been raining continuously for 2 days here with temperatures below 8 degrees Celsius maximum.

The first time that I ever saw a Robert-kitty was, ironically enough at an "Office Max" in a shopping cart. Yes, it was alive.
This bobcat is not a good hunter, an experienced hunter would have nailed that first hare in a flash. I am guessing it is young.
Those 02 Don't Look Like Rabbits They Look Like Whitetailed Jackrabbit Hares

Be veri veri quiet. We’re hunting wabbits!
Looks like a fat cat to me
Well, Shawn, a bobcat is a wildcat, and this one looks well fed, so you're right!
