I feel like finding community as a trans person is almost fundamental in one’s life experience, because as the film Disclosure says, “you can’t be in the world, until you see you are in the world.” It’s sometimes hard to navigate society when it’s guaranteed it didn’t put you in mind and thus isolates you from it. Seeing others like us is so important. There’s another “trans ancestor” that I know which I love, and that’s James Barry, the first doctor to perform a c-section in Africa. He was a military doctor and was discovered to be trans after his death.
One of the coolest things I've experienced was when visiting the GLBT Historical Society's archives in San Francisco, where I walked in and Lou Sullivans original diaries were out on the table. I had read his book that summer, but seeing all the diaries out made me realise just how much they had to cut!
I've been watching your journey from start to end. They're so relatable, and so important to have up. I'm 34 right now, and just recently "came out" to myself and a few others. I've been looking for content from folks who transitioned years ago, and how their journey has gone. Sometimes its hard to find that type of content. Thank you for deciding to start these years ago!

I too discovered Jamison Green's book recently and have been making my way through it (very slowly because it makes me very emotional), it feels life such an important book and yet seems relatively unknown? Even though I am in a different place in my journey I always feel like I come out of your videos with something I can relate to in a helpful and positive way.

This is perfect timing for me because I dealt with some harassment walking into the store a little while ago and it shook me but I felt like it shouldnt have so seeing this boost my connection to self again cause pluck that bully
Becoming a Visible Man really is a good book. I read it many years ago when it first came out. Just Add Hormones by Matt Kailey is also a really good book.
Cool! I don't remember how fast it shipped. One comment about the shipping, though, now that I remember it, is that it was sent in a cardboard envelope that was not strong enough to prevent it from getting a little bent, so that was disappointing.
Also Marsha P. Johnson was not the key person in the Stonewall rebellion. There was no key person. This is a myth that was made up by people who like Marsha P. Johnson, which is understandable because she's awesome, but it's made up nevertheless.
