    I've only begun the video, but I so appreciate your discussion of mimicking styles and having the courage to admit that it doesn't work for us. ❤️

      Thank you so much! Its was a little difficult to come to terms with at first but I’m very glad that I did accept it eventually 💕

    I think it's quite ok to leave blank pages, when I look back in my previous dailies I don't mind it at all!! It only bothers me when I am in the book for some reason. However, the Hobonichi word literally means "Almost every day", so.... We're good!! 😅

      Hehe you are right! I’ve kinda come to terms with it now, so I’m actually ok with the blank pages now 🥹

    Thanks for sharing!!!! I think that everyone at the beginning made some kind of “mistake”. For example my first journal represents what I hate the most: lined pages and spiral bound. From there I also tried traveller’s notebook but in the end I went back to a traditional journal and tried bullet journal. I think that I am now at peace with it. I also think July is too early to think about the next year, I personally purchase a new notebook only when I am 2-3 months to finish the current one and when every shop I consider purchasing from have launched the new collection

    Great video! It's so nice to see how you use various books to grow and develop and learn about yourself. I've been journaling since 2021. My format is A5, don't feel comfortable in any other. When a notebook does not work for me I stop using it so I know I have to change it. I discovered I like 5mm grid best. I can plan in a smaller grid but longer writing is impossible. Dot grid is often too faint or does not have enough guide for me. The worst thing about this hobby is that when you want to try new things you need to spend money but if you don't try it you cannot tell what is right for you.

      @themochicloud  Рік тому +1

      I totally agree with your point about spending money In order to try something that may work for you, I’ve so many notebooks sitting around just because I wanted to try it and it’s so hard to pick it back up because I know I just don’t like it. A5 is my comfort place too and I’ve started to realize other sizes don’t cut it for me. Thank you so much for watching 💕

    Loved this video! I think we may have similar journalling styles as everything you said about the A6 sizes and the TN is exactly how I feel! I feel squashed in an A6 (loved your honesty about forcing a style not natural to you, but I think the experiment was valuable) and frustrated in a TN (too faffy to take the books out to write and they don't lie flat, but I love the feel and idea of TNs). Subscribed, thank you for sharing ❤❤❤️

    I loved this long video and listening to you talk about how your journaling has changed. I also feel like I've come a long way in my journal/planning style. My first Hobonichi (a day-free) is sooo different to anything I'd do today 😅 I like that you are waiting to order, it gets a bit overwhelming for me in the excitement and I also don't want to overbuy.

    Loved this. This is what I am interested in doing with my Hobonichi Cousin in 2024. I currently have used it strictly as a planner for the past 7 years. May take it a step further next year.

    Thanks for making the video and sharing your planner journey, I think we can all related when admiring others planner spreads and wanting to grow your own style. For a different size, maybe try Sterling Ink B6 size.

    thank you for sharing your journey! i definitely agree with you about july being too early to decide which planners you’re going to use for the next year. it was tempting to participate in preorders but i didn’t want to spend money on something i might not even be excited to work in by the time december rolls around 🥲

      I wish I could be more planned because I was so sure last year that the full Hobo cousin is gonna be perfect for me. Unfortunately, Im very reluctant to place my order early this year for 2024 🥲 thank you so much for watching!

    I just discovered your channel and absolutely love your candidness about what worked for you and what didn't. Everyone's style is different and it took me a while to find mine. :) If you ever sell your TN, I'll happily buy it. I LOVE TN for travel and art journaling.

    Thank you for saying that you are uncomfortable to purchase any of the preorders that have been recently released as I feel the same way. I appericate your openness and honestly; it may not always be as comfortable though I assure you it is greatly received on my end as I don't feel alone as you are not alone. Thanks for sharing!

    Do the weeks stay open when you go to journal?

    • @themochicloud
      @themochicloud  Рік тому

      It does stay flat completely! There is one version of the hobonichi weeks called ‘smooth’ which does not lay flat though. I think I’ve seen a few creators on here ‘training’ the smooth version to allow it to lay flat

    Rainbowholic inspired me to appreciate the wonders journaling and stationeries ❤️ Once I hear the name, I was hyperfocus on listening to this video xD
    I also started this journey in July 2020 with a kinbor week undated, liking the idea on how functional and compact it was. Once I've finished the weeks in July 2021, I switch to a unused ruled notebook I used for journaling although I'm halfway completing it, I miss my weeks. 2022 I bought the weeks again and this time with more stickers and a bit of planning and micro journaling. Now this year, I'm stuck with the kinbor A5 (similar to the cousin) and kinbor weeks, and I don't feel like I enjoy journaling due to no time or burnout or work. I have yet to hear from kinbor their 2024 lineup so we'll see if I want their stuff next year or not. 🫣

      Thank you so much for watching!! Rainbowholic has inspired so many of us to start journaling! I have never tried a kinbor and Ive been hearing about them a lot so I will definitely check their lineup too before making a decision! I hope you find your perfect planner partner for next year 💜
