    Do you mean Benzoyl or hydrogen peroxide cream? Benzoyl should never be used on ponies 😥. If youre using hydrogen cream i apologize for pointing it out but its worth making sure for your ponies sake, and so no one misunderstands and uses Benzoyl.
    Vinyl is porous and Benzoyl cream stays inside the pores so the pony will continue to beach in the years to come and it will leech out and stain other ponies this one comes in contact with. A lot of collectors wont even take a pony thats had acne cream on it bc itll ruin other ponies. I myself would never refuse a pony bc they deserve love but it would need to be wrapped up seperate. Acne cream should only be used on natural tone doll faces, as it is a different type of vinyl and colorant than that. Acne cream bleaches out all synthetic coloring and dyes, so any plastic colored with dyes such as my little ponies should not be bleached with acne cream. It bleaches out the ponies dye as it sees it as a stain and will continue to do so until its covered in white splotches. Plastic colored with pigment such as natural skintone barbies are safe to use bc there is no dye. Dolls such as monster high with rainbow colored skin cannot. The safest way to use peroxide with ponies is liquid hydrogen peroxide, oxi clean, or hydrogen peroxide cream but ive never tried the cream i couldnt give any personal experience advice with that. You could soak your ponies in the solution inside for a time and it will help remove any stains, mold, and bacteria. Or place it in the solution then place the tub outside for UV, im not sure how long a UV lamp would take, most likely significantly shorter so I would be careful.These methods do not continue to whiten ponies as acne cream does. The only things to note when using hydrogen peroxide, it may make the vinyl more firm if you use it for extended periods of time, should not be used on neon hair as it will cause the dye to leak out, and will remove the shine from glitter cutie marks or tinsel hair. Again, you may be using hydrogen, I just wanted to make sure to keep yours and everyones ponies safe. Thank you for caring for this pony ❤ (Edit: i found the 40 cream in the description, sorry!! I'll still leave the comment up in case anyone gets confused which it is. Thank you again for caring for this sweet peachy ❤)

      Thank you for the explanation!! I will make sure I write the full name in the video for the next ones, just in case someone gets them mixed up. I knew about benzoyl damage but I didn't know why it happened. It makes so much sense now, it stays inside the pores! And that's why it's considered so contagious. Thank you again, so much, for taking the time to explain this. I'll see if I can pin this comment so others can see it more easily :)

    I'm really surprised about how good the symbols/eyes were underneath that paint! I would've expected it to be chipped or smudged if someone painted her but she looked pretty good, considering.

    • @Oboromaru
      @Oboromaru 3 роки тому +8

      Warm water, soap and a toothbrush!! Just be careful to not let water sit inside the pony or mold/rust can grow inside. Your best bet is to take off the head and take out the tail while cleaning it, and letting both parts of the body dry completely before putting them back together.
      Acetone-free nail polish remover is great if the paint is really stubborn. Just make ABSOLUTELY SURE the bottle says acentone-free, because if it has acetone you will wipe the original eyes/symbols right off.

    This video popped up in my recommended out of the blue and honestly, watching it was really fascinating and genuinely kind of therapeutic! Peachy came out great and it was so interesting to see your process when it came to fixing her, it almost makes me want to try toy restoration myself someday o:
    That being said, that custom painted look before you cleaned her up looked absolutely wild. That earthy colour palette makes me wonder what her original owner had in mind for her!

      Haha thank you 😊😊 I'm glad you came across it and found it therapeutic! Someone mentioned a "battle horse" effect made by a brother and I think that's a possible explanation! Your work is beautiful! But I'd like to ask you about the hair that you use. I've rerouted liddle kiddles and some other dolls. I think that we use the same replacement hair. How do you get the hair to stay curled without doing a boil perm? I've always had to boil perm it to keep the hair curled. Does yours uncurl?

    • @RetroGeekCrafts
      @RetroGeekCrafts  3 роки тому +4

      Thank you 😊 I use two types of hair: Nylon and acrylic. Acrylic (the one used here) doesn't stay curled for long, unless boiled, like you mentioned. Nylon is much easier to do, I honestly just use hot water and leave the hair in the curlers for at least 24 hours. Most nylon hair I use is from DollHairEmporium (UK) or ShimmerLocks (USA). It's thinner. Maybe that's the difference?

    Dried acrylic paint doesn't wash off in water. I learned that the hard way xD It flaked off, because there was no proper base coat underneath, and material the toy was made off, is luckily not the one acrylic like to stick on. Water with soap however, works perfectly with wet acrilic paint.

    • @RetroGeekCrafts
      @RetroGeekCrafts  3 роки тому +1

      I understand your pain xD If you leave it under hot water, the acrylics are not good quality and there is no other paint underneath it's mostly okayish... We have learned our lesson :)
