My friend went to a bridal salon to buy a wedding dress. Her parents offered to pay for it. She didn't want her parents to pay for it because the father was later off & had some trying times. The dresses she saw in the bridal salons were all too costly . She found a wedding dress at a Salvation Army that was really really GORGEOUS, she bought it w/out even trying it on. She took it home and put it on. Showed her parents, they were shocked cause they knew it was an unaffordable designer dress w/ a big ass hefty price tag. This left the parents speechless. When she told them the price, again, they were speechless. Grand total of $ 49.00. Then it was a pink tag which made it half off. Total price was $24.50. And WHAT A GORGEOUS DRESS it WAS...Everybody at the wedding remarked about that dress. She told the groom at the reception and he spit his white wine across the room. (FUNNY)....groom told her previously that her dress was quite expensive looking. Veil came from a bridal salon. The designer dress,.........compliments of Salvation Army !!!!!!!! A portion of money she would have spent went to animal sanctuary. She did right by her parents. Not so THIS bride.

shows are edited, but sometimes we read between the lines. mom was eager to get the $7,000 dress, even though she knew the budget. she and daughter totally disregarded it while going through the racks. mom was clearly disappointed that daughter did not like the dress, but couldn't put up an argument. this is not the first time they did this to dad. my feeling is, they truly wanted to hurt his pocket. So, to summarize - they are just very very IGNORANT. The lack of knowlege is the root of EVERY sin/crime!!!
If those people knew better, they would have acted upon it! Even if that father himself knew better, he would have been the cornerstone, not the mere vallet of the family! And his voice would be heard, cherished and RESPECTED!
      We reap what we saw.

girl i think marriage is over rated. i am a senior level executive and paramount picture, and own 3 houses that i purchased all by myself. why would i need a man? not only is this girl a spoiled brat but she is not very smart from what i can see. i am the kind of person that even if my dad offered to give me $7000 for a wedding dress i would feel guilty spending that kind of money on a dress i will only wear once. i would probably spend around $1000 on the dress and put the rest of the money towards something useful like a new car or down payment on a house, or maybe buy myself a new gucci or prada bag that i really like. at least of if you buy a really nice high quality bag you really like you will get lots of use out of it for many years to come. i have gucci and prada bags that i purchased 20 years ago and i still use them and they are still in very good condition.

People can value different things. If someone thinks it's worth it to buy an expensive dress to wear for just one day, that's their choice. Also, it's not just any one day, it's their wedding day. It's a day that they'll always remember and cherish. So, there's nothing wrong with them wanting to look and feel their best, and if that's wearing an expensive dress, then so be it.

To me that would just overall make me feel a lot more in control because they can’t say anything about what I chose to spend more on. My parents paid for their own and I always expected to pay for mine (am still single). I am fine with parents who want to be traditional but don't appreciate brides (or grooms) who take advantage of their parent's generosity or who expect to get whatever they want. I don't think this bride overstepped. The dress was not twice the budget unless maybe the sash put it over. My budget would be nowhere near hers, so it's a lot, but some wiggle room was probably approved off camera.

As a recent bride, I can say you only wear the dress for one day/ a few hours. Then you are hot and the dress is really heavy and you want to change out of it! And it's bulky to store in the closet. It didn't help that mom was enabling the situation. My guess is that the same things happened when planning and paying for the wedding. Probably daddy's budget was just a pipe dream lol Seriously!

I just went to try on wedding dresses last Sunday, and my dad and sibling were willing to pay for the almost 2k dress they liked on me, but I couldn't let them pay for that, so I chose the one I had on my mental budget, and it gave the bridal feeling. I could not in my heart allow my family to pay that much for my dress; knowing there were other expenses to pay, even the bridal consultant encouraged me to decide on the expensive gown. I am so happy with my choice; the dress I saw online that I thought I wanted was 400 bucks more than the one I chose. I am thrilled with the dress I chose. I cannot wait until it arrives and I will get to marry my man in that dress. Hehe, sorry, I just wanted to share one of the best moments of my life. ❤️
