Pea soup is a common thing in here Finland too, but it's very different and our ingredients for the soup are just water, green peas, carrot, smoked ham or minced meat and salt. We eat it with milk and rye bread or rye crispbread. Pea soup tastes much better when you add some quality mustard on it.

I finished some up today and called my girlfriend, I opened a bottle of vodka to finish the soup off and she said it tasted pretty good too.
