The misinformation about Punching Glove and Iron Fist not stacking was an early thing that people just believed. Later on, someone on the Smogon Research thread did calulation testing to conclude that they do indeed stack.

Probably has to do with punching glove removing the "contact" property. I know it turns off Urshifu's unseen fist, probably some other weird interactions with like tough claws too. What a crazy, half baked item
I’ve been using (female) Rivalry Pyroar next to Illumise with attract/sunny day/tailwind as a way to abuse gender matchups. Pyroar can go ham on other female pokemon and male mons get attracted by Illumise. Pyroar doesn’t really do enough damage for it to be great but it’s a fun little lead in sun teams
Gotta go with Alolan Persian and Purrserker Hitmonchan is my favorite mon. Took it to LA Regionals with fake out, cc, taunt, upper hand. Was great against all things non-ghost 😅
