Homelander is named John, because his name is John Doe. Season 1 is pretty good, unfortunately the show and especially key characters dropped a lot in S2 and the quality isnt there anymore, as for some reason they thought putting in real life references to modern politics is a great way to go.

Haley Joel Osment's performance in this episode gave me a sort of 'sinking' feeling.
