    I am a jazz pianist who is listening to classical music for inspiration. This music and this pianist makes me feel like a baby who can't walk yet. The contrast between the shallowness of some of these comments and the depth of the musical experience produced by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Trifonov is too much to contemplate. Trifonov is one of the great geniuses of our age. His playing is perfection without pretense. The mannerisms are beyond easy to overlook. His is truly one of the great musical talents of the 21st century.

    This is the first time I hear this piece . Mr Trifonov transports us to a place where Chopin and Rachmaninov meet face to face . The sound he produces is almost orchestral . I have more than once thought I was listening to a concerto not solo piano . What strikes me most though is how true he is to the inner soul and sentiment of Rachmaninov . The variable textures that his thin fingers produce are both amazing and delightful . what a treat !

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 2 роки тому +6

      Bravo for your comment and I think you captured that performance. I also got the feeling that Rachmaninov really went to Chopin in this composition and tried to lift him and support him, to help him stand and find contentment and pure happiness hat seemed to have escaped him all his life, especially regarding finding a match from the other sex, women let him down. Rachmaninov is turning a beautiful but dreary and frightening fatal theme into something cheerful and hopeful and gets there. But out of respect he repeats Chopin's theme at the end.
      An amazing homage to Chopin by Rachmaninov.

    That emotions are amazing and inspiring. Very demanding piece played like no one before. This man is so excited about this music. He lives in this piece! I think this is much harder than Szymanowski's "Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 36". I'm listening this everyday. This piece still hurts me emotionally. I love this dynamics progression. It reminds me the tears falling down and some of the worst and painful moments of my life.
    The imagined situation worsens, the tension increases until the 8:46 moment and everything totally explodes! This performance is a some kind of medicine for my poor heart... There are some variations that leave the hope for better life! This dynamics gradation is amazing! I didn't know what to say when I watched this video for the first time. I cried... He is the insane master!

    This is such a wonderful gift from Trifonov. There's no need to comment on his ability, but I will say, this is perhaps as much a gift to himself since I think he's probably born to play the piano - and oh thank goodness he has decided to commit himself to that pursuit. Wonderful.

    I find myself not thinking too much about Chopin in this work. Rachmaninoff has completely transformed and developed the original material into his own unique tapestry of inspiration. Thank you, Daniil for being the stream where this inspiration flows!

      Not claiming to have any insight into his mastery but i think his daring is in tune with his technique while other pianists will give all notes same importance out of insecurity, not daring to forge their path in the musical forest of the score and hiding behind the notes (and make an impressive mess which makes them feel secure), but a true artist comes naked and shows his musical choices with the score, and is not playing to prove himself but to dare to show how he hears the score and does not give a f about looking vulnerable in the process.

    Crying because of so much beauty
    This man is a legend

    • @franckporcher
      @franckporcher 4 роки тому +6

      Assolutely, he is already a legend ! So young and yet already so perfectly accomplished, technically and musically. There was Kissin 2 decades ago. Now this is Trifonov era, and I simply cannot think of any classical pianist alive that approaches this genius, maybe Volodos. Both are composers too, Daniil ahead having already written a full score 35' concerto for piano and orchestra.

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 2 роки тому +4

      I don't think he is crying, it is an artist exploring deep emotions and staying creative, whereas the average person couldn't get that deep and would fall apart in tears. So as you see him you confuse that exploration with actual crying but it's not. As an artist he can go deeper and still be keeping his balance, it's like a psychological stamina. And you can see at the end how when the piece completes he pulls himself together without much difficulty.

    His eyes are closed, and for some reason I don't see the sheet music for this composition. Also, he is having an out of body experience through flow state and attunement to what appears to be cosmic consciousness. His hands are on fire, 5:20 is a good visualization of this. Well, 0:00 to 21:28.
    That's pretty impressive. Bravo.
