So many vocalists have an overly nasal tone when they sing.
However, becoming aware of your nasality can be really difficult to do.
Today, I'll show you my methods for hearing the nasality in your voice and how to get rid of it in 55 seconds.
And what if my voice is naturally nasal? Not only singing, but also talking, because my voice is nasal while talking
I think nasally talking is easier to get rid than singing! I'm female but I have range and tone like a normal male. No way to sound nasal while talking but I sound nasal when I sing. I'm still fighting for it.🥲
@@liensa1794 Don't think so. By the time you start singing you've spoken nasally for X years. It's natural now. You have to constantly remind yourself (16 hours a day) to stop that. While when you are singing you just have to remind yourself for what, 3-4 minutes/song?
@@cs3k3 While speaking, you don't need to care which placement you're getting the air from, if you're speaking in right key, and what kind of tone you're speaking with. Having to remind myself not to speak nasally for 16 hours is pretty easier than reminding myself not to sing nasally for 3 or 4 minutes. This is not what I think but what I experienced.
I have the same problem people always tell me your voice is so bad u can't ever achieve anything from your voice HELP ME
nasal does not mean bad. try to mock talk like male singers. this might show you the warmth in your voice that you thought was lacking
This was so ridiculously helpful. Thank you!
Love the speed and clarity of this, thank you!
So cool difference’s shown in the end! Thank you!!!
Thank you for making it so concise
Joke's on you, I wanna sing pop punk. So nasal singing is obligatory.
Thank you for the demo. I found many videos on correction of nasally voice. But this video helped me detect that I do not infact have a nasally voice.
“Let’s face it, nobody wants to sing nasal.”
Scratch from The Ghost and Molly McGee: “Am I a JOKE to you?”
Perfect song choice! Also very helpful!
Thank you Matt! This helps!
DUDE THIS WORKED SO WELL
I actually really like nasal voice like Rosé from Blackpink
She isn't a nasal singer anymore
@@befrr5 she is lol she uses different techniques to sing but most of the time she uses her nasal voice
Yes!!!!!!!!! I love Rosé
@@befrr5Yes but jisoo also uses nasality to reach different range
@@Shazaam786 yes, but she mostly uses her chest and sounds breathy and heavy. While rosé has stopped being hyper nasal. And some notes do need nasal support because it's very hard to sing them normally
this was super helpful!!
*performs the McDonalds jingle* bah bah bah bah bah I’m loving it
Singing forward required nasal though... And it sound good if done correctly.
THE GREEN DAY SONG- 💀💀
I've been so shy to sing loudly ever since i was in kindergarten that i just got so used to humming, so it's really hard not to sing through my nose
Meanwhile I don't even know how to sing nasal
Love your channel thanks
Except for Billie he sings great singing nasal. Except on every record since Insomniac because after Insomniac he took singing lessons to try and help him. Although it's still there a bit
So its better to use twang instead of nasality? Are there any voices that need to be nasal?Maybe a natural high larynx individual? The voice doesnt have elsewhere to go..I think..
Good questions
I learned a good lesson, and laughed at myself a d this thank you xoxo
I love Soyeon from (G)I-dle nasal syllabic voice
thanks this helped a lot
Genius. Thank you
About nothing and everything all at once 🎤gotta go listen to this song now thanks
It depends on the singer tho, some singer sounds really cute singing nasal (the example is Kimiko from nano.RIPE, idk if she's actually singing nasal tho, but it sounds pretty nasal to me)
Yeah that’s referred to as “nasal resonance” ✅
Brilliant thanks!
PIcked it up immedately, thank you!
Plls matt can you tell me after singing or while vocal exercises my throat pains or it gets sore pla tell me what is the problem and how to fix it
You’re likely singing with poor technique, and you might be pushing your voice out of its current vocal range.
Think of singing like a muscle you need to build up over time. You can’t cram a year of weightlifting into a few weeks or months, and the voice works similarly.
I would encourage you to practice songs that comfortably fit in your vocal range so you can work the throat muscles but not over stress them. They will build up resilience and you will be able to add new songs that demand a wider range then.
Also, it’s important to do simple health practices that take good care of your throat and voice. For example, drinking enough water, recognizing if you’re starting to stress or get irritation in the throat (if so, it doesn’t hurt to take some cough drops and let your voice rest for a day or two), and it can also help to do nasal irrigation practices such as using a Netipot or using a saline nasal spray in your nostrils. Warm baths where you can breathe in stream can also be therapeutic for the muscles of the throat and nasal region.
I like singing nasally on purpose when I sing Teenage Dirtbag, but that's because it sounds like the original singer does.
Thanks ❤
I was scared because I thought that I was hanging with my nose and I have a lot of time singing hug notes and then I realized that it was not for the nose thanks for your video so thank you because I was so fucking scared
lol too but fair Billie is a tremendous singer who uses a gimmick 😂
Me signing a rap😭
Dawg I sing that song nasaly on purpose when I’m really into the song
Im using Nasal voice talking singing humming 😊
Jan Delay would love to know your location.
Edit: Joking
Sounds like Pee Wee Herman when using nasal!!
I'm using this to sound nasally because I want to sound like john Lennon.
Emos rn:
How can I sing cute/sweet like Shawn Milke (Alesana) or Ed Gibbs (Devil Sold His Soul)? 🤔
Except for Green Day :D
what about higher notes
Useful
Some styles do kind of demand a more nasal voice. Like pop punk. If you tried singing a lot of pop punk hits with no nasal resonance, it would sound weird. It shouldn't be to the extreme you showed in this video, but it doesn't quite sound right at the end either
How does this help? Saying buh buh buh will make my voice less nasal????
Game changer
I wanna try it 👍😁
Tq sir
I always 😂🎷😂
nasally voices are beautiful wtf
you sure about that one?
Nasal sounds Akon to me.
i have a natural head voice and i get nasally up there but it’s really hard to push it out when i ain’t doing the buh buhs… is there anything to help me with that
Chester Bennington?
Hi nasal people 😆😆
that's what my teacher told me to do
I didn't feel any vibration...😶
but tawa Sama nasal is good....
Your nasal sounds like w
Weird Al
Yay it works but i still need works
you are good at hitting the high notes but try not to sing too nasal. A way to prevent the nasal singing is by trying to sing the song with "buh" instead of the actual lyrics.
Mötley crüe singer sings nasal tone.
But I want to sing like Charlie puth
I didnt get this at all
Well...John Lennon
Matt shadows would disagree
Bro your song sounded better with nasal💀
I am unable to sing nasally. I tried to do it a lot but I just can’t. I wanted to hear how my voice sounded nasally but I was never able to do it.
Nasal sound emo
I search up HOW TO SING NASAL not HOW TO NOT SING NASAL
😃👏
I only sing threw my nose when my gf is over she hates emo music
*Buh buh buh buh buh buh buh buh* *buh buh buhhhh* 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for help 😊
I have singing competition next week and I want to make my voice good
I too tend to agree to competitions and then desperately go to UA-cam to learn the sport in a week 😎
Nobody ? 😂
OK but then how do the "buhs" lead to the actual song lyrics not being nasally?
