- In search of topwater strikes, I head to the water early in the morning but find only shad boiling at the surface. I end up finding white bass in pockets and crappie hanging on mid depth rocks and cover on their way out from spawning in the shallows.

Crappie fishing is addictive. Lol. Try mixing hot sauce and mustard together then dip your filets in before you bread them. My absolute favorite way to fry fish.

**Tip** use the rapala or piranha blades with the Bubba! They fit! It’s those bubba blades…they are terrible but the lithium batts and the bubba knife are awesome. Soooo….I just put my piranha blades on the bubba and it works fantastic. I was cutting through the backbones with the Bubba blades as well!

Always learning something new from papa LFG The Crappie Slayer. Adding butter to oil is a good move. The oil helps the butter not burn and you get awesome flavor. That was a perfect looking flakey golden crispy crappie.

I live the mix of hunting and fishing videos getting blended lately👍 should try trapping such as beavers/muskrat/fox etc. Maybe head up to WI or MI to try it out in fall and winter.

If you are having a slow day on the water and want to have some fun with the Pot Lickers out there, just toss out a couple of marker buoys and sit back and watch. You will have some people casting at the buoys while others will flat out troll right up to it to try and catch the fish you didnt really have marked. LOL

Try zatarains fish fri. Add some of favorite seafood seasonings if want? It's already seasoned. Can just put moist fish (I use Texas Pete hot sauce), then just dredge in zatarains and fry. It's awesome! If moisten with hot sauce I wouldn't add seasoning to zatarains. If people don't want a little heat then dilute hot sauce with water. Gave Becca a gallon of zatarains fish Fri. In market it's $3-4 a little package. But Amazon can get 2 1gallon containers for $14?

Spicy mix will be good for white bass, especially if you don't quite cut out all the red strip. Otherwise I would be using something fairly light for crappie.

I just preferr peanut oil. Flavor browning and crispier. I actually have no idea.8f its better for you. The kicker is Reg veggi oil turn rancid way way faster. Makes a difference if your buying 50lbs at a time.
