The character is speaking what is in the hearts and minds of people from his generation, which is also my generation. It is difficult to explain and heartbreaking to experience and I am not going to try now except to say there was a time that America was something to be proud of.
It's apt. Take nothing for granted. Always question. Speak up or else someone else will take your dreams and aspirations.

Agree 110% (as my ex-boss used to say)... Politics aside, that was one heckuva tightly written and performed series.

@@gray9590 These are actors. The lead guy also had a lead role in dumb and dumber (Jeff Daniels). Their goal is to destroy what little patriotism is left in this country. Our goal as laid out in the preamble of the Constitution is "to create a more perfect union". That means build it, not destroy it in favor of some global solution where we don't have a say.
