Good teaching methods! I’ve been training since 2010, and have had multiple trainer’s, but very few knew how to TEACH. You sir have a talent in expressing both aspects! Salute 🫡
Beautiful jab. And love that you value and appreciate the jab as much as you do. Too many fighters are obsessed with the power straight/cross. Jab & Teep sets up everything!
Coach. You’ve got the best Muay Thai instructional channel I’ve seen on UA-cam. I like that you explain the techniques with principles in mind, which helps me remember things. Great work.
Thank you for this. My coach told me a good jab takes time to develop. I been practicing it a lot trying to get it to be more natural than me having to think of every cue and it looking forced.
As someone that has been training MT for nearly 25 years and trains in Thailand every year, this is incredible content. Very technical and detailed instruction, well explained.
i have never seen such valuable muay thai lessons in the internet. Thank you so much, i want to acquire a more detailed program from you. Where/How can i get it? Osss
Hi. Have you done a "Shadow Boxing" video with the kid? We're doing 3 rounds of shadow boxing for a warm up and to practice missing and balance. I would love to see and hear you discuss it. Thank you 🙏
In my country the level of muay thai is very low and the coaching is very poor therefore I watch every foreign youtube tutorial. By far this channel is an absolute treasure of knowledge.
@@KMAAcademy2020 you are welcome. I would be forever thankful if you can do a video explaining an issue I struggle with. I have a sparring partner with a very good and fast front kick. If he attacks with it It is no problem and I can just defend it, my issue is he always throws it mid combo which makes it impossible to get in the inside or land punches. Thank you so much in advance.
We don’t truly understand the question but we feel as though you may find value in these strategy guides ✅🙏 Muay Thai Block,THAI Style! 3 details to IMPROVE your Muay Thai KICK Defense! ua-cam.com/video/gK1hfsCAeeM/v-deo.html
@@KMAAcademy2020 i apologize English isn’t my first language Great video but unfortunately not helpful since my issue isn’t with not knowing how to block, my defense is decent. My struggle with is my sparring partner always throw fast lead teeps during my boxing combos which makes no punches land, even if I try to get close he feints well and push me with a front kick outside to keep me outside his range. Again, coaches here are very weak with no fighting experience so no one helped me. I would highly appreciate it if you do a video explaining how to deal with fighters with good lead teeps, dealing with how they throw it any time I punch of any time I come close. THANK YOU!
I'm not sure if you have something for this...but recently I've noticed that my front leg is getting eaten up with taller opponents. I'm working on cutting angles and such, but as a southpaw, it's a little wonky trying to get in the right range especially against taller opponents. Is there a video that you guys made for this issue?
Great video again! One thing I’m missing: what about throwing the rear shoulder back and whipping your lead hip? Or is it only good for moving backwards?
Great observation! Yes , Coach Charles and his family lived in Thailand for over 3.5 years before coming back to the United States and opening up their Academy, thank you for watching! ~Team KMA
I have trouble doing the quick you called water. After I take my half step I feel it’s stuck there and can’t bounce back quickly and so I lead with my head. The power one stepping in I feel I’m doing okay but the snake bite is hard. The front foot step is initiated by me pushing of in the ground from the backfoot right? I feel al my weight land on my front foot, and if I keep my weight on back foot I have no foundation to push me front foot back If that makes sense? Can it be because I’m doing it in shadow boxing but if u do it on the pad then my momentum will stop and I can bounce back from the pad kind of pushing off with my jab hand without leaving it out there? Sorry for messy text but I’m trying to get it right 🙏🏽
The Muay thai jab is longer which protects you from leg kicks and also allows you to attack from longer distance while the western jab closes the distance and is bladed. Hope this helps ✅✅ ~Team KMA
Great session. Kid has nice quickness and snap. Only thing is am I detecting a slight hitch before throwing. I was always told jab always shoots forward instantly. No chambering. Lennox Lewis talked about actually going a step further and leaving lead hand out a bit further to shorten the distance from hand position and target
Looks like Tito is mostly flat footed with his lead leg when the jab finishes. In general, should your lead foot be flat or is it better to be on the balls of your feet? Thanks.

Question. When he dips his lead hand (slight cogging motion) every time he throws, is that intentional? Thanks

You definately spent some time in Thailand! I can hear in your cues to your student. Yab Bai! Bung! etc. Nice direction thank you!

i didn't quite catch the differences between the western boxing jab and muay thai jab!

Stable front foot can help prevent getting foot swept whilst jabbing also it sets you up to throw attacks after! Thank you for watching ✅✅
Snake bite!
Is this your student or son?
This is Coach Charles and his son Tito Johnson, thx for watching!
