I stayed there in the 1989 me and my family in a VW camper all four of us as a teenager ..same colour too as that VW.. we stayed at the side of car park!! Looks like caravans on it now…Only had one cold tap and pitch black at night…I was terrified as there was a murder appeal picture in the shop window. My bro went to phone box at night to phone his gf … I went with him I was stood outside it,but my eyes started playing tricks on me in the dark and thinking it was the murderer …kinda ruined his romantic phone call with me freaking out and jumping into phone box with him 😂
The airfield was RAF Brawdy, I was born there when my Dad was posted there in the 70s. White Sands and Newgale beaches are my happy place - I always think that area is just like Cornwall but without the crowds. Very special place to me.
When we were there (71-73) it was Navy and Dad was there representing the RAF. They took it back over in ‘74 and finally closed down in the early 90s I think. The army took it on after that. We have close friends who live in St David’s and Solva so we visit often.
If you ever feel like traveling up north my home town south shields has a car park on the sea front you can overnight in for the grand total of £3 lol thats where we will be testing out our van if i ever get her finished haha
You, my friend are a legend, I enjoy your videos more than any other on UA-cam, you provide great information about the places you visit, I love the food you cook and the park up info that helps us find decent places to stay, please never change mate, keep the food vids coming, even the mishaps. 😂
Thanks for sharing fella. You missed Fishguards main attraction, it's little harbour at the narrow one lane bit at the bottom of the steep hill. You just ended up walking at goodwick seawall near the ferry terminal for Ireland. At newport you could have walked across the estuary at low tide (with your trousers turned up) into newport or walked around the dunes which have vipers, then over the bridge to newport... It's all a national coastal walk BTW. @4:40 (that big lump of land poking out) is Dinas head which has two lovely beaches each side, one with an old church remain...
Thanks for watching mate and sharing some local info! Wish I had you with us for the guided your 😁. I'll definitely have to return to Pembrokeshire again at some point. Maybe in the summer 🙂
We've been there used to watch this woman riding her horse on the beach everyday. Such a beautiful place. That back looks well nice but no tar with the tomatoe sauce rather brown sauce.
11:50 Did she think that you were trying to proposition her with a cheeky cinnamon swirl? That's basically a marriage proposal in some parts of Wales! 😂
A friend of mine, work colleague, used to holiday in Fishguard with his family of four EVERY year. I was down that down way once so I thought, I'll pop in, and take a look,,,,,,hmmmmm ,,,,,,say no more
Brendan, when you walked out of Fishguard and down to the sea, if you then went over to the other side where the Port was, that’s Goodwick not Fishguard, two different places buddy
My dad lives on the Knap in Barry, Wales. He'd love to meet you. On Pebbly Beach in Barry, near Cardiff airport I think you can stay over night. There's lots of restaurants and take aways on the broad street leading to the Knap. Beautiful sunsets and nice BBq areas.
@@Maranatha-t9d that's brilliant, I wish him the best of luck with it all 🙂 I documented my whole van build on the channel so hopefully he can get some tips 😁👍🤞
I'm back watching your videos which is great! But I still can't figure out what video I left a comment saying "Suggestion: Add a mini smoke stack with a rain cap for cooking.". And also something to do with an oven hood as well..
Surprised at Fishguard, I thought it was a big busy town. Glad you sussed it out for me 😁I've now invested in a drone (dji mini 3 pro) because of your fantastic overfly shots. That will get a work out next June when I'm up your way. As usual video made me smile take care mate.
If you get a chance go to Marloes sands what an amazing beach its in my top 5 and I have done the entire UK coast also there is a farmer who lets you stay on a field with an amazing view its £10 has freshwater supply and elsan waste and a skip he is just before the council car park.

Oh I popped in for all the dubbers comments 😂 obviously they are all out mending their vans 🤣 great video as always, and you managed to get me to comment.... keep safe fella 😊
Another fun video! Fishguard (sp??) was lovely. Sad it's in decline. The cathedral in St. David's was awesome! So unexpected. Not leaving a comment about the VDub, lol! Just as a side note on that...Where I live in BC, Canada, there is a man who buys these old broken down VW vans and completely redoes them. He hires people who need a hand up in life and teaches them as they help him in the restorations. I. for one, would LOVE one that he has done. Just sayin', lol! Beautiful spot to end your video!
Thank you 🙂 yeh it was sad to see it so lifeless... But st David's definitely made up for it 😁. Not to worry about the VW comments 🤣 I'm sure their good vans really lol
Hi Brendan, been following you since the beginning, just recently had to change my user id 😢, I love your content. Your uploads I really look forward to. I’ve got no tv at home because nothing could ever match the quality of the content and reality we get from channels like yours. Thanks so much for your hard work and forethought on your videos. I’m loving the bigger van
Sadly, the plight of Fishguard is not surprising. The boss of Stenna Line says the decline seen in Fishguard was because of the new trading relationship with the EU after December 31st 2020, which has led to a 30% drop in traffic in 2021 alone. Irish businesses and transport companies avoid the Ireland-UK-EU route preferring the longer time taken using the easier Ireland-EU route. The impact of this new trading relationship on Welsh ferry ports, including Fishguard, has been described as unsustainable and disproportionate, threatening the local employment and future opportunities in the area. It's very sad, but you have shown the effect of Brexit on Fishguard very clearly.
