This video was so good, thank you so much! This is really great bite-sized lessons that start from the very beginning- so needed for a beginner like me.
Happy 2021! Yes we finally brought out my friend Juanita, the mannequin head! Remember to tag us in your practice at @nanamona_beauty on IG, we'd love to see your progress!
This was so helpful especially how you said don’t worry about mapping and worry about holding the tweezers and like the beginner stuff !! It makes me feel less freaked out about learning everything at once!
Where did you get your tweezers from ?! This is very helpful in starting out!! Do you have more tips or can you make an updated video with everything you have learned. Kinda like a trial and error type ? Thank you !!
Hey Monica, I finally started to practice on my mannequin head, Marie Antoinette, as my son appropriately named it. I am using the practice lashes and 0.15C mixed tray. I started with the 15mm and I noticed a few things. 1) The glue I'm using is not the best quality. I did buy the most affordable just for practice and I now understand that was not the best idea. It keeps crystallizing and when it's time to isolate near it the other lash just collapse... Like, REALLY!? 2) I find that the 0.15C is to thick for the practice lashes. All the trays I purchased are .015 :/ so, I need to find a thinner lash to practice. Monica, What do you suggest for glue and lash width for practice? Thank you for your help. Loving your content, as always. 💫💞💫
I LOVE the name Marie Antoinette, very fancy! I applaud you for being very aware of things in your practice, that will definitely make you a good lash tech. Yes, glues are sometimes difficult to work with especially in the beginning. I love the Stacy lash glue, for me its been such an amazing glue, you might have to get one that is slow drying speed so that you are able to have enough time from picking up to placing. The .15 lashes are on the thicker side but they are also easier to manage because they do not bend as easily, but you might want to switch it up to .12 if you are struggling. Just stay with the C curl because the flatness of this Curl is easier to manage in the beginning.
Hi! Shout out to all of our Left Handed Techs! The placement of the eyelash extensions really depends on you. There are some people who are able to isolate and applicate with both hands so they can place the extensions on the left or the right depending on your ability. Try to practice both ways. See what works best with you. One thing you can do is a sponge practice switching both your tweezers in your hands. Do not get discouraged, luckily our hands adapt with practice so even if you struggle in the beginning, with practice I know you will start getting the hang of it! You can do it!
I completely understand you! I also use 2 tweezers sometimes to isolate. Here is what I do: 1. I isolate using both tweezers. When I do this I separate the natural lash by opening the space and kind of gently pushing the lashes to the side to the point where I am able to see the natural lash by itself. 2. Once I have the lashes pushed to the side and my natural lash in the middle I gently let go of the tweezer I am using in my right hand (which is normally the tweezer we pick extensions up with) and let my left hand tweezer (which is mostly the isolator) take over so I end up with the left hand tweezer open on the natural lash. 3. Then I keep my left hand isolating and then grab the extension and finally place it This way you are still initially using both of your tweezers to isolate but once you've got that, you can pass the isolating job to your left hand tweezer and pick up the extension and place it. Now that I am reading it, it definitely sounds confusing. Let me know if you understood though, if not, I'd be happy to make a video on this!
Thanks for this useful video!

Is it okay to practice with a 0.15 d mix?
Should we post out mannequin work if we don’t have models yet ?
Fr good question x
Just checking something for me because I am left handed. Should my glue and lashes be on the left side and should I isolate with the right hand?

What if I use both tweezers to isolate? Do I still pick up the last first?
