Couple of tricks for you and your users. You dont need that tool to calibrate tire location but it does make it a little easier. First go to each calling tire and remove air pressure until horn beeps ( yes you will have to come back and add the air back in but it will recognize this way without scan tool.) Also if you turn off your lights before you start your turn signal will come on solid to indicate which tire needs calibrated just follow the light to the coordinating tire and lastly if you have a different display in your chevy vehicle no worries just incert your key turn it to the on position and then hold the lock and unlock button at the same time until horn beeps and you will then be in tire pressure calibration mode so you can begin from there hope this helps everyone!
I just bought a 2022 GV70 with factory 19 inch wheels. Swapping them for 21 inch aftermarket rims. Definitely going to buy this device. Unsure if it will be as easy as holding the check down on your truck when it's on the tire pressure screen on the dash... But we shall see!! 🤞🏽🙏🏽 Wish me luck. This video is awesome!
Video was very helpful. Mine are 15 inches wide I just gave up on the tool for my truck. Still used it for other vehicles, but resetting the sensors from the back worked. Perfect thank you.
Man you make that look so easy. I have that same tool and have tried every angle, front, back sidewall of tire, at the tip of the valve stem, base of the valve stem, everywhere. I can not get it to work. I know the sensors aren't bad because the truck is reading the air pressure of each one plus it's a 2021 truck so they're new. I took the oem sensors out of the oem wheels and installed them in the aftermarket wheels so they are the original sensors. My wheels aren't even that big, 20x10 with 295/65-20 tires. Just can not get them to relearn.
From my experience with this I had to use the device from the backside. My sensors were installed on the inside valve stem on the fuel wheels on my 2017 silverado. Amazing little tool and saves a ton of money.
Just wanted to drop a comment about this. I got a 2019 Chevy Silverado and the removing or adding air pressure trick didn't work on mine. But using that little scanner worked like a charm and took no time at all to scan all four tires and get the TPMS readings back.
First i gotta say i love your videos and i know this is an old video but i like how you help others out by making these types of videos because this is something that i do at work with an oil change when a customer needs a tire rotation and it will save you a lot of money in the long run because our oil changes aren’t to expensive but it’s cheaper to do things like this yourself if you wanna save some money.
just got this in today for my 2014 gmc sierra 22x12, 33 12.50s. but i got the one that is 2in1 which is GM & Ford and it worked perfectly! less than 5 mins to reprogram all 4 sensors.
Sweet! Thanks I have a 17 Silverado slammed to the ground & I’m always changing wheels but I make sure they have sensors this will help with that annoying light.
if you dont have the tool or you’re having trouble with wide wheels, you can go to the tire learning mode and just let some air out from the stem, it will beep when it senses the tpms.
THANK YOU, i read my manual and it said to do this but i didn't know what it meant when they referred to the tool, like obviously it didn't come with the truck and they always do this for you at the shop so when you do your own tire swaps i guess you need one of these. Price is double in Canada unfortunately but better than driving to the dealership/shop for something so easy
Thanks for the video. However I feel as if you only have an issue with “wide” tires is because the TPMS is on the actual valve stem and you are putting the device on the sidewall. Try getting closer to the valve stem.
I have a Question 🙋 ( My 2017 Chevy Tahoe. TPMS is Indicating One of my tire pressure is low But it’s really not !! Should I Just buy the device to reprogram it
Is it normal for me to keep 60 + psi in my tires. That’s what my tires call for plus if it goes under 60psi the lite stays on. I don’t like it that high makes truck ride ruff. Is there a way to make them sensors go off with lower psi?
Most dealers do not reprogram tire position when tire rotation is performed, you have to specifically ask for this service to be done when rotating tires. They do not even reset oil life percentage when they change the oil also.
The thing with the tpms reset its a time is money thing that no one really understands unless you are or was a technician most of the time it’s not the actual technician who doesn’t want to do it. It’s the boss man hurrying them. Not resetting the oil light is just lazy and makes me wonder what else they don’t wanna do.
@@owenpullen6356 yes if senors are already programmed then you rotate them, they will still be "programmed" just not at the correct location on the screen showing the air pressure. Hence there will be no error light that comes on
I tried a similar device over and over again and it wouldn't relearn the tpms . I went and bought a new battery for the device ( even though it had brand new battery when I bought it ) and it worked first try !!! The battery indicator is the same before and after installing the new battery
@@WolfPerfect hell yeah I always tell my viewers that watch my videos. What all they’re getting what all they will need and everything this guy didn’t.
What does sync mean. I did mine and it turned out to say 75 in the back and 60 in the front which is what was on the sticker on the door Does it set them at 75 the way they're supposed to be or does it tell you exactly how much air is in the tire I don't understand
I both it and I could not get run doing the same process on the video , do you guys now what wrong I could doing ? Learning mod beep to start but no beep each tire 😊
Is there any way to run lower pressures without the warning light being on?? I'd like to run a little lower pressures on my 10 ply tires for a better ride but then my light is on. Can I change the pressure threshold?
That way works on the newer Chevy trucks to get them into relearn mode. On older Chevy trucks without the display you have to turn the key to run and then hold down the lock and unlock button on your keyfob until it honks.
Hey bro. Great video. Question for you since you have more experience doing this. I have a 2017 Suburban and I recently bought 2020 Silverado take offs rims/tires package. The sensors are not reading. I’ve been told the sensors will not work as 2020 Silverado sensors are not compatible with 2017 suburban computer. Have you encountered this? Thanks
Are you using the stock tpms? Lmao, the tire shop i went to tried to tell me mine weren't working, but I got them to break the bead an they managed to get them to ping, but for some reason the tools they had there when on the truck, would not find any signal at all... I haven't been to the dealership yet but I'll give this a try myself before I have to go there, thanks for the vid, tire light has been annoying me for awhile!
Looking this stuff up. I tried to reset tpms didn't work. Ended up buying a used wheel and tire. I guess it needs programmed each time you get a new wheel. I wonder how much that is. Might need to buy this. 80 bucks for doing this is stupid lol. Should've looked this up first
Question....please someone.....I have 22 ram and installed a sweet sound system w lots of new big wires and the tire pressure system is not reading any of the sensors.....sensors are all working....but alarms keep constantly going of the whole time I drive and I get three bumps of the horn telling me the system is not working......everyone says it's the new sound system wires are interfering with the signal from tires.....they tried insulating wires better, relocating volume blah blah thingy.....still no pressure sensing....how do I fix....override system and don't have tps operable?
Has anyone had the issue where after you get the left front to honk (starting point), and you move onto the right front, you get no response from it, and then because you weren't able to finish the sequence you get a service TPMS message? I have spent a ton of time retrying, but the right front just does not detect the tool.
what sensors can i used with this tool could i just order some sensor off amazon and this tool and it will work ? ? if anybody can answer this question it would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know how it worked for you but it sure did nothing for my 18 silverado with 33s. I tried all types of positions and had no luck. I ended up returning the tool.
Can you let me know if letting air out of the tire until it honks to set it? Let me know if that method works or anyone in the comments for the Silverado 2017-2020

Pretty sure this method stopped working after 2011. That is also the word from GM service techs I know.
i already know how to do it i’m just watching because i watch all your videos 🤣

I got the same tire sensor programmer and I found it works better if you put it right against the valve stem cap.
That’s because the tpms sensor IS the valve stem. I swear no one in these comments has seen one
@@DubstepTH you don’t know what you are talking about. The valve stem is not the sensor. The sensor itself is at the base of the valve stem.
