The White Queen’s apology always brings me to tears. The way she apologizes to The Red Queen hoping to at least be at peace with her sister is so bittersweet yet beautiful. Well done once again, Tim Burton!
This one was not directed by Tim Burton sadly😢 but it was still a good watch
Title , please?
@@user-qx7zq6gi2d Alice in Wonderland (2010; Disney) or Alice in Wonderland - Trough the looking glass (2016; Disney)
Alice in wonderland.
Sequel: Alice through the looking glass.
Anne Hathaway just bats it out the park icl
*For context* : when small, the White Queen ate the tarts and put the crumbs under the Red Queen’s bed. Their mother scolded her instead, and when she was running angrily away from the fountain she lost her footing and hit her head, causing it to swell. She couldn’t wear the crown on the coronation and her father gave the crown to White Queen, even though Red Queen was the eldest.
It looks like her actions/words lost her the crown, not her big head?
@Sar-ahG the incident built her character, she was angry for years
It was a classic incident of child telling the absolute truth but was still blamed because it seemed she was guilty. As parents we have to listen to our kids and try to feel out situations. Something so small could make your child angry or untrusting of others.
The result of the white queens lie caused the red queen to lose her privilege of being queen, she grew a big head, the big head made everyone hate her for being ugly and mock her, and this caused the red queen to always be angry cause no one loved her
And she was forever known as Bloody Big Head since then😭
“Why does no one love me”
This hurt…a lot more than it should have
It really does 😢

Yes it does
@@ayaa.1351Exactly
No it really does tho.
That girl could have saved so many lives if she would have just said sorry or admitted it back then
I felt the same way. 😢 It was a little white lie but but it grew into a big problem. I actually felt sorry for the Red Queen not the White Queen. I felt like if the issue was corrected early she probably would have turned into a decent queen.
Villains always hav an excuse to hurt innocent people
@@shayla106no one is saying what red did was okay. OP is just pointing out that if a lie was never told, this whole mess would never happen
The girl? No, the parents should have been more discerning. Relying on a child to feel guilty they avoided a siblings punishment to come right is an exercize of stupidity. Speaking as someone who grew up with many siblings, parents assumptions causes PROBLEMS.
It's a movie though yes it couple apply in reality but when it comes to movies it's mainly for entertainment purposes than anything no one would pay much attention to a short movie that avoids problems or creates even a bit of drama 😅
The fact all of their strife could have stopped with an apology this whole time
Not just them, everyone.
No.. red queen could have still been kinder and not insult people. Her large head due to younger princesses's lie doesn't give her the reason to call people imbecile and threaten and kill other people.. also the younger princess was a kid then and thats what kids do.. they lie when scared. The dad denied red queen the crown because of her attitude not because her head was big. If that was the reason he wouldn't have named her the heir at the first place. It was her attitude
That’s why you don’t wait for an apology. You’ll turn angry and bitter. Just forgive and move on, and stay kind to others.
@@ishanipimpale everybody laughed and made fun of her head ofc she wasnt gonna be "nice"to them
@@cecequeens4044 how about now onwards Joe Biden threatens and kills people who make fun of him. People these days don't know how to apologise. How to take accountability. And if they do...they don't know how to take responsibility over their actions. This is a very sweet moment.
Its always been this way. It's not a new phenomenon.

People have pride. Sometimes it becomes larger than their rationality, compassion, and honesty.
people these days? or just people in general?
A lot of people were ab√sed as children. Using psychological and/or physical abu§e, parent-type adults demanded that their children be perfect. Perfect people aren't allowed to admit making mistakes, so can't allow themselves to apologize.

The white queen was actually the true villain. If she hadn't framed the red queen when they were kids. The red queen would have never been falsely accused, which caused her to run outside in anger, leading to her slipping and hitting her head. Causing her to be bullied for her head growing big. Which caused her to have hatred in her heart. Not only is the white queen the true villain, but she caused her sister to become a villain, took year's to apologize after deeper damage has been done. That apology should have been public setting the records straight about what really happened. Granted, this doesn't excuse the red queens cruel actions after everything she's been through. With the beheadings and other messed up stuff the red queen did . I'm just pointing out all of this could have been avoided if the white queen hadn't framed her. That head injury caused more than her physical appearance to change. It also caused her to go mad completely mentally unstable. So yeh, both are villains, but only one of them is both a victim and a villain. None the less they both should have consequences for their actions.
To clear up some things : Yes, the white queen was a child when she betrayed her sister. But that's no excuse, she was old enough to know better. Even when she became an adult, she let years go by without confessing what she did to lead to the incident. She's a villain for allowing the lie to go on into adulthood on top of that she never stood up for the red queen when she was bullied for something she couldn't help. She just stood there and watched the bullying. Never even comfort her. I got golden child vibes from the white queen. That probably wasn't the first time she framed her sister. Just the first time, it resulted in her getting injured. But you can tell their parents had a favorite. Which definitely didn't help things, they are also to blame. They also could have had a crown made that fit her head. Everyone could have done things differently. But there's definitely more than one villain here. Who all did Inexcusable things. None of them is innocent. Not the red queen, not the white queen, definitely not the parents. Everyone chose a path that resulted in people getting hurt and worse. Favoritism, lies ,betrayal , murder, tyranny.
White queen was a child. A scared child. Everyone makes mistakes as children the person at fault was the person who made red and white queen scared to be themselves
Todo empezo porque la Reina Roja no quizo compartir .
Meh, yes and no. The red queen didn't want to share, AND I guess you can blame people for your misfortunes but that's how you become bitter. Becoming a villain because of what others have done to you, likely hood is you were never a good person to begin with, and you deserved your shunning. Many people are hurt by people, who never go on to torch the world around them, and in fact become extraordinarily empathetic people who are loved in spite of their differences. The white queen was a good person who did a bad thing, and yes should have taken accountability. But the red queen was a bad person who may have been able to ACT okay IF she hadn't pushed and bullied, but because she was in a position of power she decided she could abuse it and all act out her abuse on others. That is not something a good person does, just because someone has a past doesn't excuse their current behavior.....
Muchos problemas de ese tipo suelen suceder tambien por falta de comunicacion.
You two (not KittyStar, though) are barking down some dangerous territory. The way you are both defending it, shows a pattern of narcasstic, & enabling thoughts in your heads. I worry for you.
Helena Bonham Carter is a marvellous actress.
Yess and Anne Hathaway too!
I'm still trying to figure out how it was hard to put a crown on her head. I thought her hair was supposed to be soft and fluffy 😭
It should be, but the crown is the wrong size for HER head. They didn't bother to alter it for her. Her anger is understandable from an adult view point.
Their parents never cared enough for Red. They definitely had a favourite child and that is White, and White always set Red up until that point, where everything changed with Red's head injury that led to her head swelling and personality changed for worse. All in all, it all started from the parents.
Did these replies not read your comment? I don't understand why her hair wasn't soft either..
In theory it is not, from what I understood in the movies they explain that the buns are bumps caused by the accident when she was little, so in reality most of the buns are from her inflated head and not from her hair, I think that's how it is.
I still can't forgive white queen. She lied and red queen life messed up
Thats too bad she wasn't apologising to you

Why do I think this movie is based on a true story that happened to Queen Mary and her sister Queen Elizabeth 1. This is because the way they dress and the color of their hair is the same.
I believe that in the story, the Red Queen's design was based originally on Queen Elizabeth, because of her... "habit" of having people beheaded.
@@wandanemer2630I thought the one thag beheaded a bunch of people was Queen Mary? Bloody Mary and all that, daughter of Queen Kathrine of Aragon.
@@wandanemer2630 That’s not true for the book, and I don’t think there’s any deeper meaning for it in the movie other than that it looks good. Elizabeth I isn’t known for beheading people any more than any other monarch back then.
What hair color are you thinking of? Mary had black hair, and neither of them dresses like Mary would have dressed.
Her and her sister were both crazy as hell but rhey loved each other all that because of sister beef 😂
😮 WOW! I cried immediately after watching Ann Hathaway cry. And also Helena.❤ They both are so good in acting
I’ve never understood this scene. It’s just her hair being shaped like that, that’s in the way. Bro didn’t have to push so hard that it broke. 💀
I think he broke it on purpose honestly for all the insults. Truthfully she wasn't a nasty girl til after the accident, everyone just wanted to poke fun at her so it make sense she'd be furious, a whole kingdom laughing at you because of something you couldn't help. Terrible core childhood memories destroyed her character. The crown being taken away was what sealed it.
None of you saw the movie right??? because if you had done it you would remember that the queen of hearts ate all the tarts and left only the edges that were more like crumbs, the mother sent them both to bed without dinner, that really the only one who left without dinner was the White Queen, she only had a single tart and when the Queen of hearts karma came she couldn't stand it and made a drama, since she was little and before her accident she was already unpleasant and malicious. She never apologized for being that mean to the white queen and yet the white queen did not hold a grudge against her and refused to accept the throne that was taken from her for being extremely aggressive and sadistic, and she never paid for all the innocent lives she took and the many that she tortured.
All she needed was a different hairstyle to fit the crown 🤦🏾♀️
Nah a bigger crown
Fr
I can feel the genuine guilt that was eating up at the White Queen's soul here. But I also understand the Red Queen's frustation, because not only was she treated unfairly and unjustly, but she was also being bullied, ridiculed even.
MOVIE NAME: Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
Im sorry tbh the red hair girl scares me

Its technically not her fault she is the way she is, even her physical deformities and mental state.
She was innocent and got harmed over a misunderstanding that led to decades of torment for everyone

*The Red Queen
I feel like the lie could've been a bit more serious and less stupid than something like stealing tarts. I appreciate it, but I just feel like it would hold more weight if it wasn't something so dumb and inconsequential that. I don't know, I'm not a writer.
The movie was pretty good except for this. The Red Queen enslaves all of Wonderland, kills hundreds of people at the drop of a hat, and then they go and try to make her into a misunderstood victim and her White Queen the true villain all because of a childhood mistake, and the Red Queen isn't responsible for her crime's 🤦 I hate it when they want to make every single villain into a sob story and then give them a free pass for everything evil thing they've ever done
This! When she said she just wanted to be loved and here and apology and the White Queen was just falling all over herself to give it, I just wanted to be sick. The Red Queen was just making excuses, justifying everything she had done.
People in the coments saying that White Queen is the true villan make me think if they even watched the movies. Of course she did wrong and owed an apologie to her sister, but the Red Queen killed a lot of people and caused so much suffering for hundreds, like, bruh.
Is it a mistake? It's no mistake when you lie and steal someone's inheritance and live a lie for years. That's psychopathic manipulation.
Then again, maps to real life in a weirdly accurate way. How many of us have known someone who established a pattern of atrocious behavior and, when called to explain themselves, had an elaborate backstory prepared that can basically be summed up as, 'none of my actions were my responsibility because other people were mean to me *first*'?
Helena should’ve won an Oscar for this

Everyone saying It’s the white queens fault are actually stupid.
Yes the White queen framed her (the red queen) for eating the tarts as a kid and was the reason she got scolded by her mother, which led her to run away from home and get the head injury from slipping on the ice, which caused her head to swell, causing her to be bullied all her life bc of it. Especially on her coronation. Which is why she threw a fit on her coronation after the crown broke, and embarrassed her parents, and caused her father to realize she was too immature to be queen, so as a result he gave the crown to her younger sister (the white queen).
But everything that came after that was the red queen’s fault and choices.
The red queen (More so known as The Queen of Hearts) chose to behead innocent ppl whose only crimes were being beautiful. She hated ppl who were beautiful (like her sister.) (She had pity on ppl who had deformities and disabilities like herself)
She also chose to lay waste on the villages and towns of her nearby kingdom with her pet dragon (I forgot what she called it) and she chose to feed ppl to her giant dog ball thing (which Alice like later rescues and befriends, also forgot what it was called).
She chose to lock up the Hatter’s family, and almost caused the Hatter to be beheaded.
She Chose to isolate herself. Nobody loves her bc she’s a horrible person.
Yes the White Queen lied on her sister when she was younger, which caused a giant series of unfortunate events. But The Red Queen chose to do all those horrible things.
She’s the one who went bad shit crazy and decided to go on a murder spree. None of that was the White Queen’s fault. The Red Queen, chose to murder ppl and lay waste to towns, and she wants to throw a pity party.
She did nothing but do horrible things and continued to play the victim, and she wonders why nobody loves her.
The White Queen grew up to be an actually good person. That’s why everyone loves her.
White Queen messed up and should have apologized and told the truth, at least as soon as Red had the accident, but kids do mischievously things all the time. Red Queen was a psycho anyway, so saying White was the true villain is a savage thing to say. She didn't beheaded anyone just for being annoying. Of course, most of the erratic people have been summited to abuse in the past. We all have been through childhood trauma, but that's not an excuse for being A**holes!
The reason she did what she did is because everyone I her eyes hated and bullied her and at the carnation she was humanited in front of the whole kingdom and her father was no help to the cause so if anyone looked or say something out the way it was off with your head put yourself in her shoes all she wanted was for her sister to say she did it and be loved by instead she got abused and humanited and in time if u don't get help for it u will become bitter just like her that is how psychos and killers are made
@robertafrancis8104 yes. The same as all those mass shooters in USA's schools...
You do know she turned bitter and hateful because of the things the white queen did. The red queen was just a normal girl and because of her sister pranks she ended up getting a big head and she was bullied for it. Like not even her own parents loved her.
It’s giving whatever happened to baby Jane ending: “ you mean all this time we could’ve been friends?” especially when one sister could have ended the conflict if she told the truth
That's a good comparison.

Honestly, if the red queen has the mental capacity to do what she did, I don't think a one-off thing like that could have been the only reason she became a psycho murderer... there are some things that are really just down to the psychology of someone's brain.
Some people are saying the white queen was the true villain. I think that they're forgetting that 1) she was a child, 2) she had no way of knowing how it would escalate, 3) people aren't responsible for other people's actions, 4) she was an indirect factor to the red queen's insanity, not a direct one.

I remember girl scout cookies being a treat in our house as a child. We really liked the samoas, the ones with coconut and chocolate. I recall an incident when I was very young and I had snuck into the kitchen and I thought about taking one, and I decided not to, because I knew it was the wrong thing to do. Later some went missing, and I got blamed and punished for taking them, even when I hadn't. It made me very sad, because I had stopped myself and chosen to do the right thing, and my parents didn't believe me no matter how much I tried to tell them I hadn't done it. Part of me at the time that, well part of me at the time that, well what's the part of me at the time thought, well what's the point in doing the right thing when you get punished for it anyway? It was frustrating to be punished for something I hadn't done and that my parents didn't believe me. It bothered me enough that I still remember it to this day but I didn't turn into the Red Queen and it certainly didn't change the outcome of my life. Perhaps it added to the lesson that I learned over multiple events that it's important to do the right thing even when no one's looking and even when you're accused of wrongdoing. Even if people believe that you are in the wrong, it's between you and God, and you can be okay with yourself knowing you're in the right

@Luciawilson I know both Queens are Villains, But I love how the White queen had that “Oh Shit” Moment and Decided not to leave her sister when they were being engulfed in the spread of the invasion, It’s a Tragic and Sad moment, Really heartbreaking to realize one’s mistakes, even in the middle of the “to little to late” spectrum of things. The emotion in her voice when she said she was sorry, almost sounded like all those years of not saying/doing/acting upon not doing anything at all, Really is shown in her voice, almost losing her sister made her Really spill her guts about apologizing, doing all that to her and quite possibly watching her die alone was Not an option for her. It’s iconic and sad, I feel as though there are a lot of people who would love to apologize like that and feel good on both sides again. I. Love these two 💗
