- This isn't meant to be any kind of big statement about the ending--I simply love the Mass Effect series and did this for fun.

Seeing Garrus alone on that beach breaks my heart.

He always needs a weapon to do some calibrations on.

I was not happy back in 2012. As I even joked to Jennifer Hale, how people were pissed about the ending of Game of Thrones, at least all the characters in that HAD endings.
While not as "pretty" as the ending we got, but this was clearly made with a lot more heart.

Some price has to be paid. It cant be like any other James Bond movie, where villain dies and the protagonist and his side characters live happily
@@Shepherd-ee2ck The tone of Mass Effect has always been allowing "Happy ever after". ME1 makes you save the day (And come on Kaiden and Ashley were not very likeable in ME1 so the cost is little), ME2 even allows you to save the entire crew. ME3 as the ending should allow for a perfect ending if you do a good enough job.

Darn it! I discovered this video ten years too late! Back when Bioware broke my heart! This is however a really nice Ending. The way it should have been.

Holy shit I just realized that this was actually made before the extended cut was released back on July 6, 2012. And some of the cut scenes are almost matching this one!
This, sir, is sooo good. I just started sobbing. As far as I'm concerned, this is how ME3 ended. Now if I tell myself that for a few years, maybe in a decade I'll actually truly believe that. Thank you!

That's exactly what the fan ending is...fans whose opinion Bioware allegedly took into account, but in fact spat on them...that is, for all of us...and even gave out a mocking Extended cut...
I think this comment forgot EA rushed bioware... It's not their fault
That to me shows how these guys the fans had mire care for the game, narrative, character's and ending excellent work you did any mass effect fan proud
The original narrative of ME3 is how horrific and ugly wars can be, that no matter how hard we try, we can't save everyone. This fan ending symbolizes what we wish for even though there are clues in the game pointing out that it is not possible at all. Thing is, how far are we willing to go to see an ending like this? What are we willing to sacrifice? "Sacrifice" is a pill we refuse to swallow, but in most cases, we have to. James Vega learned that the hard way when he saved the intel on the Collectors over the colonists of Fehl Prime. If he saved the colonists, would it help save other colonies who would get attacked by the Collectors later in the near future? The right choice is usually not the easy one to make.
@@LightStreak567 only problem with James is that the intel ended up being useless since Shepard fixed everything himself

@@LightStreak567 This is why i like the ending to ME3, everyone always complains that there isn't a way to save everyone. But i like that, the reapers are a million year old threat that has wiped the galaxy of life countless times. Do you really expect to save everyone? The "happy ending" mod just throws this point out the window. And basically says that there isn't tough decisions you have to make.
@@TheMasterUnity The games literally prepare you for the end of the trilogy by constantly reminding you that there is no easy way out. On top of that, the reason why Shepard's unbending confidence and will is key to defeating the Reapers is because of the final choices you'll have to make in the end. Ever since Shepard learned about the Reaper threat, he/she always believed that the only good Reaper is a dead one. Question is how far is Shepard willing to go to end them all?
If I think about how little it would have taken to give us a decent ending... This video is the perfect example, short but stright to the point and nearly tear breaking :)

How did they not see this is basically all we wanted. I could feel good knowing that the galaxy will be a better place, with or without me, I am cool with either. Just knowing everyone did what they wanted to do.

Sadly, this doesn't solve our problems because so many questions yet to be answered by the game. What was left of the whole galactic fleet? How many survived? How would the galactic society be reestablished without the relay network? Are the "dead gods still dreaming"? Without the relays, how could Quarians ever see Rannoch in near future? How the hell people get to know what happened in Catalyst's chamber?

Most surprising is, this is pretty much what we got.
Honestly, something like this would be nice in the EC.. Have full cut-scenes to show what happens to our squad and immediately following the final choice, then have a slideshow like this play during the credits, showing us the long-term outcome of the our choice, outcome of other choices, and what happens to key characters in the long run.
Hire the guys from gamer poop to add dioluge (don't know how to spell it, I'm sart, not a perfect speller). Because they know how to change the words that the characters say, without hiring the voice actor, IT'S AMAZING what they can do. Also, this is the best mass effect video I've ever seen. You have granted peace to those who know they're cannot be a better ending, because it'll ruin their "artistic ingruety..." but you have given us peace, by giving us a vision to what we needed.
Even this is far better then what we got.
After watching this video, I've got the feeling that Bioware doesn't know their own series anymore

I like this. It's like Destroy ending but the geth survived. Fuck Starchild and it's "oRgAnIcS cAnOt CoExIsT wIth SyNtHeTiCs" crap. Bitch I stopped a quarian/geth war and my pilot is dating the ship's AI!
If you have the vanilla (not Legendary) you can just Edit the rename the bik file in the extended cut dlc’s sfar, and updated the toc using ME3Explorer. Getting Edi to survive is more complicated since you’d have to break the links to her being dead or her name plaque using the sequence editor in multiple files.
If I knew how to make a dlc mod, I’d upload it.

This is what I hope the EC DLC will bring, change of tone to hope and victory, and quiet, simple but very satisfying closure on your crew. I consider this video canon. Bravo to the creator.

1:00 Tali is holding the rock Shepard gave her and she kept it as a reminder of him and his promise to build her a house. "We used to carry our home with us... I have a home..." Really sad Shepard dies at Crucible in this enidng.

I was always worried shepard would die in the last mission. The whole game I just wanted to make sure my team was safe and Tali got her house... until bioware messed it up

It's very possible that Bioware actually examined what the community would like as a new ending, and identified this one as the most well received, then based their new ending off of this. It does seem too accurate to be coincidental.
I just regret there is no love key in youtube. Because that is what I feel about this video. I love it and if bioware actually did this instead of what they did I would have been entirely satisfied.

YES! I'd been looking around for something like this - something Bioware should have had in the game to begin with. I would have made something like this myself (really is very close to my headcanon epilogue), but I suck at art. Good job!

I do not understand. Reapers are destroyed... but that could only be if Shepard destroys the reapers in the end, along with all conscious machines, but then why are geths seen? I don't want to make the decision to Control the reapers because I don't want to create an artificial intelligence with delusions of an overprotective god created based on Shepard's mind, and I don't want the decision to synthesize organic life with the synthetic. I wish the geths allied with the quarians could be saved but I prefer the option of destroying the reapers once and for all. They are too dangerous not to destroy them when you have the opportunity.
Those who think for themselves end up with alternative endings to this, like IT. The ending at face value can't be connected, it is broken, no way you can work around it. Yes, Shepard thinks he/s could end the threat of an incomprehensible force of Lovecraftian space monsters which corrupt minds because some another Reaper in the form of a dead child let, told and make him/her do so and after that we just continue to living happily again is a serious violation of common sense.

Loved this, I still don't know what Bioware were thinking. I would have prefered for the Reapers /Crucible not to have be explained and get an ending like that rather than what we got.
