Here are 4 reasons why you would bring back Internet Explorer from the dead: 1) Old Software Needs It: Some old websites and business applications only work with Internet Explorer. 2) Web Developers Testing: Developers might need to see how their sites look and work in Internet Explorer. 3) Accessing Old Websites: Some archived websites were made specifically for Internet Explorer. 4) Historical Interest: People might install it for a trip down memory lane or for historical research.
1) Old Software Needs => find newer safer alternatives 2) Web Developers Testing: => Granted. This would be a valid excuse. 3) Accessing Old Websites: => there must be some other work around than bringing back IE from the junk pile... 4) Historical Interest: => UA-cam videos could be a better work around
@@johnsantos2360 Thanks for your thoughts! You bring up some good points. 1) Old Software Needs: True, finding newer and safer alternatives is always ideal. However, some legacy systems are difficult to replace due to cost or compatibility issues.
2) Web Developers Testing: Glad you agree! It’s definitely a valid use case. 3) Accessing Old Websites:*There are indeed workarounds like compatibility modes or using virtual machines, but for some, having IE on hand might still be the simplest solution. 4) Historical Interest: UA-cam videos are great for that nostalgic experience, but some enthusiasts or researchers might prefer the hands-on approach of using the actual software. ---
THANK YOU SO MUCH! IT WORKED ON MY WINDOWS 10 LIKE A CHARM! also here's a tip, the 1st method works with the 2nd method and it will go successfully :) :D
I don't understand how that can sound right in any language... back on my window 7 computer I avoided IE like the pandemic plague I had chrome Firefox Vivaldi Brave and I would have gotten edge but could not... no way would I do IE...
Everything checked out as instructed, but even after restart, using the new shortcut, or the internet explorer application still causes it to open in edge.
Got an issue - i am missing that registry in that CLSID location (it's the registry shown at around 2:13). The extension is automatically off, but it still works like active. What should i do then? Edit (and basically some explanation): i use, or in this specific case used, IE for web gaming with Shockwave Player and Unity Web Player and to dig out some web games requiring this technology to later archive them. Simply, other websites (Basilisk and Pale Moon) don't seem to apply Shockwave Player and Unity Web Player into themselves, leaving IE as the only one with that technology working quite well
I did the second method as first didnt work still one application is showing that please access application throught internet explorer ecen though im opening it internet explorer you showed in 2nd method can you help please or anyone have any idea?

I work in a large government organisation and we have in-house systems that need to run in IE - even compatability mode in Edge doesn't do it. They are awful systems, but they are deeply entrenched. There's been multiple projects to replace them, none of which have come to anything.
@@krystaljasminegarnett9270 I work at a mid-sized resort but have the same issue. Our 20 year old phone system still works for us but I can't access the Web interface with anything other that IE. Windows 7 VM to the rescue. Even my new camera system I bought for my house last year really wants IE but I could at least get IE mode in Edge to work with that. Just have to reenable it every so often.
Some Equipment that have Web interface to control them still only work with IE. The new camera system that I bought last year won't load it's web GUI in anything but IE. Older network switches, Phone systems, Etc. still require IE. These systems still function perfectly but the only way to administer them is thru IE. I installed a Win7 VM so I can access these devices. Even an IE plugin for chrome doesn't work for some of them. For a 300 room resort replacing a working phone system because Microsoft shut off IE wasn't an option.
Because at least Internet Explorer had better appealing design, despite the rendering engine it ran on was getting slow for its time… Idk how Microsoft Edge seems appealing to y’all, especially the name of the browser, compared to IE, but browsers like Opera and Opera GX are being promoted, despite Opera being owned by a chinese company. 😐

Yeah, but why? It's horribly out of date by browser standards.
Some software still requires IE

Didn't work. Needs to be updated. 9-9-24
It worked for me today. Took me a couple of attepms
The first method was unsuccessful but the second method did work on Windows 10 today (11/10/2024).
