A suggestion for the Carbon Monoxide detector; get it off the ceiling! CO does not rise like smoke or heat. The detector should be mounted at most at eye level, or just below that, but no lower than your knees. As mounted up high, your boat will fill with CO before the alarm sounds. Stay safe!
This is a fantastic way of life! My wife and I retire in 7 yrs. and are dreaming of possibly retiring on a narrowboat. You two are living very smart by not being extravagant and being able to travel to other places in the world. I wish we would have done what you're doing early on in our lives, but we still have plenty of time to enjoy! Glad for you! Peace!
Love it, very well presented. Not everyone will want to take complete strangers on a tour of their home, so well done to both of you for inviting us in.
You have a great layout on your boat, space saving and well fitted galley. I have a sixty foot boat that has less storage! Really enjoyed the look around Wanderer. All the best during these times. David.

If not a short advert for them is on UA-cam titled, Nauticalia's Sea Searcher Recovery Magnet. Best Wishes to both of you

How comes your narrowboat doesn't have the push-lid entryway like all other canal boats? Does that make it hard to get through your stern deck doorway?
To be honest I think it's just a different style. There are a few in the boat yard similar to ours, but you're right the majority of narrowboats have the sliding entrance. We're very much used to it but friends and family (especially the older ones) do struggle a little.
@@CharliePauly so all my narrowboat knowledge is based upon observation and research not actual experience, but I am a design engineer in other fields. Part of the reason your boat doesn’t have a push lid entryway is the same reason why the gas bottles are located in benches on the stern. It’s a compromise of space when you are trying to squeeze as many of the amenities of a 45-60 ft boat onto a sub 40ft boat with a cruiser stern. A push lid entry creates a foul weather area that would have been unacceptable given your stern door open directly into the kitchen , so instead you have a somewhat awkward entrance into the boat
