In '74 a friend of mine ( Pete Shoehart) was trying to remove a Boman fuse from a hand Grenade We had pulled up from below the old Arsenal in Selma. He was doing this in his kitchen sink. It was found in 36 feet of water, so it had an extra atmosphere of pressure locked inside. Removing a piece of rust caused the pressure to start releasing and covering the kitchen drapes and ceiling with liquid black powder. Pete dropped it into the sink thinking that it was going off. He chipped the sink and had a real mess on his hands.
That was a very interesting and informative 2 part video, I think you have done a great job , thank you very very much for teaching us how much care needs to taken. I think the shell came beautiful.. and thank you also Aquachigger for sharing the link to your channel.. ♡
Love your videos, I subscribed and hope you make many more! I have never used rust converter, but plan on trying it as soon as I can. Thanks again for sharing.
Ya, you're comment on the Yankees being no great loss was WAY OFF BASE. Lots of folks on both sides died for a war that should never have happened. My great-great-grandfather was one of them. Of course, he was just one of the "no great loss".
NO GREAT LOSS, HEY STEVE THE WAR HAS BEEN OVER FOR 151 YEARS OR SO . ARE WE NOT ALL AMERICANS? IN RETROSPECT I WISH YALL WOULD HAVE WON IN SOME WAYS. WE WOULD PROBABLY HAVE LESS CORRUPT POLITICIANS. lol
LOL I thought it was pretty funny too. We are all Americans but Southerners enjoy joking about our differences. I even tell my own wife, "That's the Yankee in you talking" when she frets about something trivial. :P As for your comment about politicians, here's some food for thought... Why was every president from Lincoln to FDR basically powerless or unable to make any drastic change? I think that's pretty interesting.
It's a privilege to see your expertise and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

How do you load those rounds balls with the little hole?
Thanks for the video. Did you put something on the shell after the tannic acid? Or does the acid make it look all slick and shiny like that?
Amazing!
Can I use the wax method you use on that on a petrified bone?
I don’t know about preserving bone but if petrified I’m not sure that it needs anything.
