The green oats had grown more than 1 meter, and we tried to plow it in one shot with the Maschio rotary. Rather than plowing, it was more like cutting off the roots and tipping them into the ground. If you plow in too much, you use up the nitrogen in the soil, so you need to expose it to the air as much as possible to accelerate decomposition. There are various theories, but some say it can make the leaves absorb the nitrogen in the air... At any rate, we were able to process the green manure safely in one shot. I found it very easy and efficient.
