I know right... Only in the world of sneakers is it looked at as weird to be able to go to the store and just buy a shoe you want without having to deal with the BS of resellers.
It’s just a bit crazy for this particular colorway because when this last released in 2014, people were actually getting killed over these. Of course that’s an extreme that we hope never ever happens again, but seeing these sit was the opposite extreme, like a “gotta see it to believe it” kind of feeling.
True! I walked into a Nike store 2 weeks after the AJ3 Black Cement were released. They still had stock and stock in my size. Normal is being able to go into a store and buying sneakers. The resale market is dead, thank goodness. I hate resellers LOL.
I remember wanting these in 2014. Finally able to get a pair 10 years later and I enjoyed being able to walk into the mall and picking these up with no issues
Everything in fashion/sneakers dies down. The hype on Jordan’s isn’t what they used to be for many reasons. The younger crowd never got to see Jordan play so it’s not as special to them as it used to be, retail increase has made it not even worth the time to try and resell, and overall Jordan’s aren’t it right now. For people like me who love the sneaker game this era of it is great.
100% agree with you. The past 10 years, it was these young kids who had never seen jordan play but were just on the hype train and getting their online bots to buy a dozen pairs and then sell them at a 4x markup. But for those kids, jordans arent special to them like it was for us so the hype died. So now the real ones can get whatever pair they want now. I was finally able to walk into the mall, see the sneakers in person, try them on, and cop the black cement 3s, the jordan 4 Fears, and white grey cement 3 all in the past month and im so happy with them.
I feel like Jordan's, at least 1-14 will be this crazy thing were they exist into the future and even beings from other planets or whatever come here to earth to get Jordans because they're so well known through the solar system. In other developing countries Jordans are hugely popular even where basketball isn't ever played. Like some people won't even think about Michael Jordan being a basketball player but they love the shoes.
@@kevincharles1983not crazy at all… if bro collection looks like mines we literally can’t wear them all. Of course you keep a couple in rotation but most stay in the box/cases. For example it had been over a year and a half since I looked at my Jordan 11 low legend blue’s.. only reason I did was to compare them to this release.
The materials used on this one aren't even close to what they were on past releases. That's probably the main reason why I passed on these. Still a good looking shoe, just wasn't feeling em this time around.
The one thing this year‘s legend blue that is actually better than past OG re-releases is the midsole. It’s much softer and squishy than my others. The last re-issues of the bred and Concord are much more firm. I can actually feel the cushioned air unit inside. Definitely more bouncy and comfortable. I also feel like the patent leather may be a bit thinner on the legend blue. It looks like it’s going to want to crease in some weird places that will not be aesthetically pleasing after they’ve broken in. I really only go after the OG‘s so I don’t have any other ones to compare them to like the gratitudes or anything.
Original general releases were a lower cut patent leather. Jordan's actual 11's he wore on court were the higher cut patent leather. So when I bought all the original colorways back in 1996, they all were lower cut patent leather. I prefer the higher cut patent leather!! They look more premium IMHO
I remember the original drop in 96’ and I was still in kids sizes. I can’t remember if they had them in that size but I do remember my older brother got them and I always loved them. I was sick when he dawned them. I always took care of my sneakers. I never owned this colorway even though it might be my favorite. $230 is absolutely insane for sweat shop shoes. The resale game destroyed sneaker game forever.
Tbh, at first I was like damn the quality sucks, but damn they look so good. I wore mine at the mall with hours of walking and shopping with my kids. They are comfortable. Especially changing the laces to legend blue. They pop more.
They’re sittinv cuz we’ve reached a point where everyones pretty much wearing whatever shoe they want. From time ppl are westing Asics without getting laughed should tell you this.
I’m def feeling the saturation. I camped out for the 2014 Columbia’s and have always gotten the Christmas 11s. My black cement 3s had quality issues probably due to jordan brand pumping out 1 billion pairs of every hyped shoe so they get rich, while neglecting material quality and QC. That paired with every person I see walking around with the same shoes on, takes sort of the luster out of it to me. $230 is crazy for these with the materials
I remember getting lucky with the raffle for the 2014 Columbias cause I was in HS and my parents would NOT let me camp out (they remembered the concord situation) 💀 times really changed and I’m here for it
Jordan have the audacity to increase price every year amd yet the material quality is trash each and every year. I would buy this if it will go on sale not paying full price on these
Glad you were able to get these 11 Columbias which are the best J's imo. Love your Shirt! Paying homage to the Master!! 🐉 Thanks for reviewing my fave J's Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 (Really nice you're shopping shoes for Wifey ❤)
I want them, but I had to buy the solefly 12s, phantom 12s and blueberry first… got them all minus the blue berrys. Maybe I’ll get the legend 11s before the 12s
Yea I agree with you on the lower patent leather look. I passed this release because of that reason. I hate the high patent leather, I don’t care that it’s how the OGs were. This release is actually higher patent leather on the OGs… Nike stop with the high patent leather!!!!🤬🙏🏼
I think 2 things lead to these being more available than normal. (Which let me preface, is GREAT, because this is how it is SUPPOSED to be) 1. The Columbia blue is, to the general masses, not in their Top 10 colorways for the 11. OG's love it (yes I'm an OG, I had these original back in '96 in HS) but the majority today, it doesn't appeal. My youngest son gets every Christmas 11 drop and these, he was "eh not feeling them". 2. I think the hype or excitement got destroyed by the WAY TOO EARLY announcement we are getting the Gamma 11 back next Christmas. For a lot of people who are mass collectors or buyers or those who pick and budget throughout the year, or even casual fans who maybe just want 1 pair of 11's in their closet and don't buy EVERY one, the Gammas appeal more. People have been BEGGING for those to return. And knowing they are I think a lot of people over looked these and just said "I'm good I'll wait" and just passed on them.
Happy holidays love the video. It’s good that if someone wants a pair they can get a pair. It’s not so good that the materials are so cheap the brand needs to do better. I don’t think the masses want vintage looking Jordan 11s but next year will be interesting will the gammas be purchased will the rare air 11s be purchased too? I bought these because my 2014 pair needs to be retired lol 😂
Can we talk bout how expensive these shoes are! I remember when they dropped yrs ago I believe they were $185 now $230?? Why is no one talkin bout this?
Uhhh… As “crazy” as it might sound…Nike is actually in the BUSINESS of making money 🫠 At $230 a pop, plus family sizing, they stand to make ALOT of money…
I had the ‘14 release and the quality was terrible. Patent was cracking two years after buying, so I couldn’t imagine paying more for worse materials. 🤷🏻♂️ Worst part about it is the breds I rock from ‘12 are still going strong after 10x the wear. Crazy how fast the quality and cost continue to climb in opposition for some of these flagship models.
I still wear the 94 tiempo Chicago colorway with injection phylon released in 2014. Think they're kangaroo leather of something. Super high quality but unfortunately having issues with the glue used on the midsole and outsole. Both shoes. Its just falling off so I had to put crazy glue but other than that its ok. Seems like your glue situation has held up pretty well.
I passed on them again. I’m not a fan of the way they do the milky sole and the patent leather being high. I’ve also slowed down on coping everything bc I retired soon and just don’t have the space.
A positive note on the legend blue/columbia 11.. it actually looks good on this shoe! Not sure on the quality. At this point I don’t even believe the carbon fiber shank is real LOL I always hated the icy blue outsoles. I know it is to prevent yellowing as the sole goes grey/green instead of piss yellow. But I prefer milky outsole like the gratitudes have. The icy blue ruins the Space Jams 2016 which could be the best 11, and really ruins the Carmine 6s making it look like a flea market shoe.
Nobody buying Jordan's and Dunk's anymore. I've seen these, the BC3's and plenty of Jordans at the outlet. Even Nike's "trendy shoe" the Vomero 5 are heavily discounted.
The patent leather is way too thin and has been a problem on the more recent 11s unfortunately. It makes the shoe feel extremely cheap and flimsy. Like ya said, rep like
Lately I've been getting Jordans I've been wanting since I was a kid. This year i got the 13 playoffs and 14 black toe. As beautiful has 11s are as a model, i didn't really feel the desire to get a pair. I liked how clean these are, but at the same time meh
I just bought them i was on the fence after I returned my black cement 3s they had bad QC there are plenty of these sitting at $230 there should be no QC issues maybe nike should move labor back to the us QC would be better im thinking about retiring from nike based solely on horrible QC and most of 2025 releases are limited which is making my decision easier
Should have been pushed back to spring or summer at best all star weekend worst season to drop this shoe Nike definitely dropped the ball with this one
supposedly the Gamma's are going to release in 2025. I don't wear 11s because they just aren't breathable enough but I will try and get the Gamma's if they actually do release in 2025.
it is pretty insane to see this partcular color sitting before xmas..... Like in the past few years those were not 1996 OG color. But this one right here, worn by Mike in the all star game .... well, at least I didnt get a pair. I still have my Concord 2018 and Bred 2019 sitting here and old space jam 2016 pretty worn. Have all those that I love.
Its just straight disrespect when Jordan Brand puts on a price tag of 230 USD and they do not make shoes with better materials. I sure as hell wouldn’t spend that much on them. They look cheap! I still have my originals from 1996.
I was just about to get the lows but I think I’ll get both People complaining about shoes now but to me it’s never been better I have almost every shoe I’ve ever wanted
What happened is 2020-2022 sneakers became a fashion trend for everyday people with the boom of TikTok because of covid. The trend is over and all of those people are all wearing uggs now. Sneakers are back to being on shelves again like they were 5 years ago. Also, this colorway isn't highly sought after in December because it's an all white shoe. Seems like Nike and Jordan need to go back to season colorways like the old days.
I'm fairly new to the sneaker world so I don't much buy into OG colourways/hype/history etc. also, being an older guy I buy what I feel comfortable wearing, these are so far outside of my wheel house. It was an easy pass for me. I do think these 11s look nice though, I just couldn't wear them
Price is not justified. Sneakerheads who are willing to spend that much have decreased. They can no longer do whatever they want and sell out. Law of supply and demand. They need to lower the prices. Did not get one yet. Will wait for them to go on sale or reach the outlets.
Jordan brand euphoria is dying because Time defeats all. The youth that grew up during the initial hype when Mike graced the tube; the ones who skipped school just to grab a pair, they’re all old heads now. The clock never stops and today’s youth see Michael Jordan through the same lens as we saw Kareem Abdul Jabbar when we were youth; He’s a relic of the past.
Two pairs I ordered, one had a crooked tongue, the other had a crooked 23 on the back. Materials are ass. They are both going back. Besides, my 2014s are still in good condition
I remember when these released 2014 it was total chaos there were broken windows busted heads the whole nine yards the hype is just dead for sneakers today🙄 Nike brand is producing too many pairs
I actually was able to get them on the shock drop and returned them the same day. Terrible quality, way too expensive and frankly too many corners cut. Nike and Air Jordan brand should be ashamed.
Good morning family and friends my name is suhayla I'm 54 my opinion now I bought Jordans all my life but the last 10 or 15 years a lot of them are not comfortable anymore
I got a strong feeling if these sold out heskicks would keep this sneaker...even with sub par materials. Too many of y'all are so "reseller" indoctrinated that a sneaker is a "flop" if it sits. And in turn this affects your perception or review of a sneaker...trash herd mentality. 1. A sneaker selling out shouldn't matter...this is good it's sitting. If you're actually going to wear it...buy it. 2. Reimagined legend blue 11s with that tanned white would be horrible. The attraction is that crispy white lol. Yeah the ageing process is going to happen...but let it happen naturally.
Saw them in hand… Synthetic leather looked cheap… but I guess if you copped it won’t get dirty like the ballistic mesh does. Cherry red 11s I wore maybe twice and quickly caught dirt. But even only going back two years, overall quality on 11 was better compared to last years gratitude 11 (which I copped) and this years Columbia11 (pass) . Nike and JB… do better. Too many releases, low quality and high prices. Going outside of JB too, too many attempts at money, a shoe for the outlets a shoe for DSW and other low budget stores, trying to corner too many markets. A zillion colorways for dunks, vomero5 etc, so shoes that needed time and attention… and quality like Black cement 3, end up looking like trash and glued up 😂. That being said, surprised bred 4 reimagined is actually a nice shoe… holiday 11s might be saved by the Gammas next year but this was super GARBAGE
Jb releasing straight 🗑🗑🗑 lately and snkrs app taking L’s at 4am is not it. I would rather spend $200 on a pair of made in usa. The difference in quality is insane, I used to love retro Jordan’s but now I won’t even pay retail.
Ppl can’t keep getting excited about same shoe for 30 years straight lol jordan brand it’s dead I’m 42 now I don’t see myself wearing Jordan’s I do kept like 3 Jordan’s union 4 bred 1 n ama 3 that’s it for me have to b a good colla for me to get a jordan shoe
Why is it crazy to be able to pick up a sneaker you want. This is actually normal completely selling out is not normal
Yes people have been fooled so long by resellers that they don’t even realize that its almost back to the way it should be.
I know right... Only in the world of sneakers is it looked at as weird to be able to go to the store and just buy a shoe you want without having to deal with the BS of resellers.

Yo ! Your supposed to be able to go to the store and buy the shoes you want. Not this reseller bullshit. You kids 😢 got it all fucked up.

Exactly! The way it should be

The way you feel about these Jordan 11s is the same way I felt about the Jordan 3 Black Cement. That's why I passed on the black cements.
These are WAY better material than my 2001 and 2014 pair. The high leather is the classic retro way too
Right? He big trippin
2001 way better
I beg to differ. The patent leather on the 2024 is thinner than on my 2014 pair. That’s the only thing I don’t like.
Yeah like what is he on?
I Passed on these. First pair of 11's that I haven't tried for in 4-5 years. No need to buy another shoe that I'm not going to wear.
Went wouldn't you wear them!? That's crazy. This generation is strange
@@kevincharles1983you did not get the point lol… he saying why would he buy them for no reason of not wearing.. the point is to wear them 😅

Yeah cool shoe, but I had to pass due to the price. Jordan 11 prices are getting out of hand
A sunny lovely day of love in 1996 that’s what this shoe is
Two pairs I ordered, one had a crooked tongue, the other had a crooked 23 on the back. Materials are ass. They are both going back. Besides, my 2014s are still in good condition
I bet you if it had the slide out box it would have sold out
Lmao. Finally these clowns that over pay for exclusivity markup for 300% gonna feel stupid.
The materials they used to cheap for 230 getting sick of the disrespect so I passed
White gets dirty to quick
Not to mention it also yellows over time when left unworn!!!!
Good morning family and friends my name is suhayla I'm 54 my opinion now I bought Jordans all my life but the last 10 or 15 years a lot of them are not comfortable anymore
The quality isnt bad, bro😐😳👀🙄🤦
Nothing "happened". Most sneaker youtubers just expect and hype up every retro release and then say "what happened" when they dont sell out
I bought 5 pairs
🤣
I returned mine
For me. The price, and how cheap they felt in hand I couldn’t keep them. Love this color way, just wished the quality matched the price.
Passed, I just don’t like the Jordan 11.
It depends on where u live u just was lucky
Nothing happened it’s alright we can finally buy sneakers what’s wrong with yall re sellers
2:20, fk'n duh
Shoes game it over
These are 🧱🧱🧱
Those are not the Columbia at all completely different upper materials
So overpriced of course they are sitting
Nah…these SUCK
First baby
I’ve been into kicks since 2006, but never been into Js - not starting now 😂 at 36 I’m more interested in quality and comfort - thank you NB 🙏🏾
We want the original Columbia with nylon upper not the leather those are only the legends
I had the OG columbias in 96 (I still have them), the upper is leather, not mesh.
