Thank you for the tutorial, in fact, I have a few tips that can improve the efficiency a bit: 1. Use "Select/Delete Hierarchy" to make sure the removal of all the rim/tyre elements include dummy. 2. *The aligning:* First, *_Ctrl+click on BOTH the wheel AND the suspension dummy you wish to align_* , then select *"Object>Transform>Align Selected to Active"* so your wheel will be 100% aligned to suspension; make sure you click on the *_WHEEL FIRST THEN the suspension_* so your suspension becomes the active dummy to be aligned with. Doing it wrong will pull suspension dummy away from the car and screw up your mod!!

Hello, because exporting the model to .fbx breaks it. When I open it with kseditor it is totally broken, I tried with models that work, unpack from kn5 to fbx and then blender export to fbx again and this breaks the model.
FOR ANYONE WHO CANT SEE THE CHOICE TO "UNPACK LOD KN5": 1. Make sure you have the full (paid) version of app 2. Go into Settings> content manager> plugins > make sure FBX Converter is installed and checked on 3. Possibly enable dev mode.

Now I will like to learn how to increase or decrease the size of the wheels the right way, because when I do it and go back to the game, the wheels still the same size no matter how big you make them on blender they kept the same size in game, I read something about resetting the scale and making a new dummy. But I can’t find a tutorial showing this.

Thank you. Until now I was swapping them through ext_config file. But using this method how can I scale them? Even if I change scale in Blender, in game they're at the original donor car size. Edit: in CM Showroom they're scaled until I click on "Align using data" in the Car params tab, then they return to the original size, the one I also have in game.
@@ereisenheim9896 That'd be because you're scaling the dummies and not the meshes inside of the dummies, if you scale the dummies you should apply the scale to them with control + a then scale.

Yes and no. Most of your grip will come from multiple situations. Car tire grip data, and track grip data. As well as time of day and track Temps. Hope this helps, and ty 😊 ❤

I'm trying to learn this stuff so I can get my own car in to the game. The wheels look "simple" enough but the whole car as a 3D model? Much more complicated? Have you done this yourself yet? I've found a decent 3D model of my car and decent 3D model of my wheels, would be great to use a car I like driving in Assetto but with the Golf 3D model. Great video by the way!

Hi, I think the old textures from my old wheels are overlapping over the new ones, any chance you know the fix? I know i'm asking alot but also it pops up LOD list missing?
Need to name your lod.ini property make sure it matches all your kn5 files. And yes this is a very old video I've now learned alot since then. And no you can only find the textures when not over written. Once over written it's permanent.

If this continues just keep the textures from both cars separately in there own files. Sometimes cars get messed up between blender and KS editor. Hopefully this helps. 👌

hey man when i save the car to the cm car folder my car loads up fine in showroom but my front wheels don't turn and i have 5 errors. Including Invalid HEADER/VERSION paramater, Missing soundbank, Pit stop parameters missing, Suspension nodes missing, Tyres use quite old Tyre Model.
@stupidfastgaming7427 I got it down to my only problem is the front wheels don't turn left or right like they aren't connected. Do I have to parent them to the car like to the susp, or rotor? Also what is the proper way to name these things in blender for assetto to recognize it
@antwon279 not sure what you did with out looking at the car. I would retrace my steps and or start over. Biggest thing is to save a vanilla file just incase you mess up.
In the ks editor the persistence car isn’t loading in so there are a bunch of problems with things, like the wheels being invisible but enough to see them. And in ks editor it is super pixely when I look at the car. Do you know a solution to any of this?
Actually no I don't, some cars are kinda funky. And blender messes things up sometimes. My advice try and add is much textures as you can and put in game.
Hi, nice vid :D but I have one problem, the car is huge, I mean everything is ok until i enter the game or showroom because the car is enormous compared to the original size :(
Scaling wheels & tires are kinda tricky. 1st separate the wheels & tires from the dummys, then scale. After that add the dummys back. Hopefully this helps, but be careful sometimes it doesn't work out! 😕 make sure you always make a copy of your work, just incase. Goodluck ❤️
i wonder why my unpacked fbx files were named "model.fbx". unlike in the video, the name of the file is the car name model.fbx. should i rename it so i can add 2 unpacked car files without getting overwritten?
@@stupidfastgaming7427 i got 3 of them, but the configuration file isn't an ini format, it's a fbx format. i've checked all of my car and there are the same, no ini format at all
Yea that happens some times. Blender messes things up Occasionally. Just try again. I would say only do one thing at a time. Like change tires 1st, then go through KS. Then try a steering wheel, ect. Good luck 👍

Don't need the paid version just enable dev options
and if you have a car and you need to delete some parts from the car( like wikgs, logo and front spoiler)? how it is works?

You have to unlink the dummy 1st, then resize, then link back the dummies! Kinda a pain but can be done.

i got all the way to the ks editer part and when i went to save my car, there wasn't a Kn5 file in my car folder
I cannot launch the car. It says Can’t launch the race: car “wdts_nissan_skyline_r32 - ” is damaged, LODs list is missing.
Make sure to go in the data folder, then go to lods.ini and make sure it's names the same as your kn5.

geting an error and a crash, message says "Cannot find FUEL INDICATOR TARGET"
Go to analog_instruments.ini in your cars data folder. Then delete [fuel indicator] data. Hopefully this works.

Null is just missing textures, try and find the correct one's. You can put the old car in cm. Showroom and see what textures you are missing.

Yea seams like your data got messed up . Sounds like your cg location moved. Look in your card data file did you change anything? 🤔

null is a texture issue. Go to file, and load persistents from the car you took the wing from. at the 26min marker it explains everything

Null means missing texture. If you can't find it go back into showroom and click on the object. Should tell you everything you need.

Do you know to to make a new BLUR RIM for the wheels?
You don't need blur, for your wheels. Just delete it.
I know it's not necessary, but it looks better with Rim Blur

Hey mate, great video! I'm having some issues with the textures when importing to Blender. Lots of the textures are either transparent, incorrect or an odd colour. Ever had this issue, or know how to fix it? Cheers!

If this continues just keep the textures from both cars separately in there own files. Sometimes cars get messed up between blender and KS editor. Hopefully this helps. 👌

You forgot the part where after you import to ks editor, you have to literally remap every new texture onto the car.

Thanks a ton! Was able to make a succesful change after a couole tries. Only issue is after the ks-editor and in game the car seems to be darker and like a different shade of the original color. Any ideas? Thanks
It might be your shader numbers or possibly a texture applied incorrectly.

hey man when i save the car to the cm car folder my car loads up fine in showroom but my front wheels don't turn and i have 5 errors. Including Invalid HEADER/VERSION paramater, Missing soundbank, Pit stop parameters missing, Suspension nodes missing, Tyres use quite old Tyre Model.
Sounds like you messed with the data file. Find the original and use it instead. Soundbank is simply replacing sound in your content manager.
@stupidfastgaming7427 I got it down to my only problem is the front wheels don't turn left or right like they aren't connected. Do I have to parent them to the car like to the susp, or rotor? Also what is the proper way to name these things in blender for assetto to recognize it
I got the wheels to turn but now it's like there is no clear coat on car. Vinal is there but darker not shiny
@antwon279 not sure what you did with out looking at the car. I would retrace my steps and or start over. Biggest thing is to save a vanilla file just incase you mess up.

did everything that he said to do and at the end I got a whole bunch o errors and wheels did not save.
Probably because there was texture issues. Go back and check or watch my tutorial more closely.

my ks editor is wrong with eewveyting and nothing works
In the ks editor the persistence car isn’t loading in so there are a bunch of problems with things, like the wheels being invisible but enough to see them. And in ks editor it is super pixely when I look at the car. Do you know a solution to any of this?
Actually no I don't, some cars are kinda funky. And blender messes things up sometimes. My advice try and add is much textures as you can and put in game.

You need to export the car in unit scale. I explained that in the video as well.
My game crashes when i try to load in to a track with the car and i don't know why.

Scaling wheels & tires are kinda tricky. 1st separate the wheels & tires from the dummys, then scale. After that add the dummys back. Hopefully this helps, but be careful sometimes it doesn't work out! 😕 make sure you always make a copy of your work, just incase. Goodluck ❤️

i wonder why my unpacked fbx files were named "model.fbx". unlike in the video, the name of the file is the car name model.fbx. should i rename it so i can add 2 unpacked car files without getting overwritten?
and then there isn't any type of .ini files, it's just a fbx configuration settings type of file
Their should be 3 files, an fbx,ini,textures files. If you don't get all 3 then possibly the kn5 is encrypted.

Yea that happens some times. Blender messes things up Occasionally. Just try again. I would say only do one thing at a time. Like change tires 1st, then go through KS. Then try a steering wheel, ect. Good luck 👍
