Bruv Gowan for only having 70 subs this is an amazing vid, got me into making tracks and I’ve never even heard of this before tbh 😂 u definitely just gain a sub :)
I dont make tracks for AC but I know for some people staring off, drawing a single line with a few curves here and there can help you have an idea of what you are looking for when you start the process. It helped me a lot just drawing something random on a piece of paper and then trying to "re-draw" in game and making a simple drawing become a base to something people can enjoy playing on. Great vid!
I said what I said. Lol you only know you're improving If you can look back and see how bad ur maps were. Looking back on my own are atrocious but I'm getting better :)
@@iamkillball3000 I don’t make maps but I’ve raced a couple of my friends first maps, the atrocious and chaotic ones are pretty fun as well getting to know where all the random extremely bugged parts are.
Had zero interest in creating a track ... Until now. Awesome video mate, landed here by luck, and wow, absolutely no regrets ! Very cool video, thank you ✌️
Bro the talent is insane, I’ve built many comp cars from nothing for myself an a number of teams but cannot for the life of me get my head around map building haha have tried to remake my local tracks ingame but with not much success! Well done !
You could probably use rocks big or small as a natural barrier. This is a touge mountain drift track, so those cars will habe low clearance. Even small trees or even high grass could work as a stealthy batural barrier to usher the player.
Those are all awesome ideas! This is a one off map so I most likely won't be updating it in the future unless someone finds a gamebreaking bug or something, I do plan on releasing a tutorial MAP that is editable to see what the community can do with it so stay tuned for that!
Ive got over 1400hrs in AC. Never thought about making a track once in my life. But with that motivational pump up, I gotta give it a try or I feel like im letting you down haha
Once you start making your own tracks it is so addicting. It took me 30 hours over a couple of days to make my first track. Now I could make that same one again in under 5 hours. The learning curve is very steep. But like he said in the video, everytime you make a new one you learn something new and your flow gets a little more optimized.
As long as you keep pushing yourself, there is always more to improve. Once you learn to make the track, then you learn lighting, then optimization, then you start making your own assets and eventually you just start using blender lol
When you know what you are doing in building a track, it is easy. If you don't know, it is very hard. I have done small modifications to a few AC tracks for my own use and learning, but never did a full complete build from the ground up. Thanks for the video. Take care.
I wouldn't say learning is hard but it is the hard part in the creation process if that makes sense. From all the comments and stuff, it seems like the problem most struggle with is file structure and extensions
The grassFX part is really cool, it doesn't appear in the interior of the car. Not quite as interactive as Forza Horizon game, but hey, cool! I also liked that your time-lapse showed how many times you tested the drivability of the track. That is like the MOST important thing in my book! I think the tree placement on super vertical mountains is hilarious looking since that kinda defies gravity but whatever, it was a quick challenge. For your next big video I think you should take a track you admire and see if you can replicate some of the special features in it that you think set that map apart. For example, California Coast is one of these sleeper maps I've had for a long time, finally drove the whole thing and wow, awesome stuff in it!
ALWAYS test drive your track, cannot stress that enough. can't tell you how many times I have went on a rampage and built close to a complete map and then i go to test and the road is massive...
it all comes from learning. I may be able to make a drivable track in 90 seconds but it took me a year to remember how to do that lolol, follow tutorials! I have simple ones in a playlist!
This video is SO valuable. Respect man, thanks a lot. I was wondering, if its possible to use world creator 3D or Blender for the Map and then add in a Track. Maybe that could be a Project for you as well? Keep it up man, building tracks is a UA-cam niche thats not been played out :)

There's a hill climb in the Adelaide Hills (native Holden commodore proving grounds) that leads to a small township called Kersbrook. The hill climb would make an awesome AC track! As would the surrounding roads. The VF SS LS3 manual I drive really feels like it was made for them hills
@iamkillball3000 oh mate that would be so awesome! The town is called Kersbrook in South Australia. The hill climb starts at Uley road, then I believe it's left on blacktop road, then right at the roundabout to go up the hill climb. But it not just that hill.
