But then how did you figure out that you had to do 2x+2y=360? I mean I understand that the angles have to be 360, but what's the reason behind doing that? What went through your head to figure out that In order to prove the lines are parallel, I have to use 2x+2y=360? Thank you again!
Me too i was like dying how to measure and find out the opposite angle which is diagonally u just subtract it from 180° degree to find the right one by the left angle side by side
It's because they are parallel, try (in your head) sliding the AB edge to line up with DC and hopefully you notice that the angle with AD is the same. Then extend the AD segment and notice that the angle at D is the same as the complementary angle at A, which is 139°. Hope that helps

In this Parallelogram, Angle D is equal to Angle B because it is a property of a parallelogram that opposite angles are congruent.
