I found it much easier to remove the hammer. Sure you don’t have to, but the three videos i watched before yours, were poorly lit and did not tell me exactly where to put the spring and the ejector. Thanks for complete, visible, accurate instruction.

Great video. Now I need to slow it down to quarter speed to follow along.

I thought it was a little over-kill taking the hammer out. Then I saw the spring and realized why my bolt release didn't function properly. Thanks for the over-kill.

By far one of the clearest instructional video of replacing the bolt release. Thank you.

Thank you, worked like a champ! If you ever get the chance to re-record it in higher def so it's easier to see details, future viewers might not need to stop the video and replay portions several times. :-)

Thank you so much. I replaced the bolt release and the magazine catch, too. Only glitch was what seemed like a frozen hammer. Turned out the safety was on!

Thank you very much for this informative vid. I bought both the Volqordsen bolt release and the new extractor. Looking forward to a better operating 10/22!

Great, simple video! I use the stock bolt release but used a borrowed rifle with the auto release and realized I wanted that on my 10/22! I'll now be changing that out with the help of your video, thanks!

I have used both Volquartsen and Power Custom, and sold bunches, I think they both are Excellent products and I am never hesitant to recommend either one.

Good instructional video. Except, there is no need to remove the hammer & spring assembly! You can still remove the bolt release bar and install the new unit, without ever needing to fool with that hammer assembly.

Great video, thank you for posting it, it made dis- and re-assembling my new Ruger 10/22 Tactical very easy. One bit of advice and I don't know if anyone else experienced this but all my rifle's pins would fall out of their own accord if I didn't physically hold them in. It made re-assembly a bit of a pain and delayed me a few minutes while looked for the B37 magazine release spring which launched itself across the kitchen. Fortunately my cat found it for me. I also added an extended mag release, 25 round magazine, tactical barrel band and bipod so the little Ruger fits in with my ARs. I figured it was high-time I bought a 10/22 to add to my collection of rimfires which includes an Anschutz, Winchester Model 270, BL22, and Lee Enfield Mk IV* .22. I first started shooting in 1961 at the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association club house in the old barracks down by the Lion's Gate Bridge in West Vancouver, B.C. and I'm still going strong in North Texas today.

Thanks for posting these vids, will deffinately be using them for guidance when I start fitting parts. Id be interested in your opinion on power custom parts, do you think they are worth it or should I go with volquartsen instead?

Hello, No it will not lock the bolt open after last shot, That requires a CST 10/22 Automatic Bolt Stop Kit from Custom Shooting Technologies, Inc

It is a truly amazingly design. Anybody can work on it. Tinker toy simplicity. Ironically, I live in Iowa, with Volquarsten. All the guts to the trigger, the bolt itself, springs, receiver, edge extractor mag release suck in equal offsetting crap execution. Poor materials, tolerances, machining ruin a fundamentally brilliant design. Laughably, I own 5 of them. I could have saved myself the trouble and fun of upgrading them and bought one Volquartsten in the first place! Who doesn't love the design.

      Thanks for the comments.
You are 100% correct, but there are reasons I wanted to show it in this video.
First is the Bolt Release Spring, showing it out of the gun is instructive as many guys get confused about the hook if they ever do have to take it out, and second it gave me more room to show down in the receiver.
And last, I wanted to show how easily the hammer comes out, I sell hammer shims you know......
