Tom isn't "just" showing the music independents the way forward. He's inspiring many others to DO the work.
For me it's emotional reinforcement for what I already believe. I have been in "Challenge Accepted" mode for years now.

The end of this song, to me, is his promise to himself and us that he will never go down the road of those who he sang about in his first hit, Dear Rappers.

I don't think a lot of reactors get it. Tom has skills. Tom can rap fast, change flow and cadence multiple times in a song, throw in doubles and triples, and show off all his abilities in every song all while making people feel something---thrilled or joyful or hopeful or sad. But do you think the people he's trying to reach with his political messages are into all that? You think they will get the message if he gives it to them in double time with an aggressive beat and flow? .You think they will stick around and listen to that? Tom saves that stuff for his flex tracks and his non-political songs. He keeps his political songs slower and simpler (for the most part) so they are easily digestible by a wider audience, including people who aren't into traditional rap. And it's working. His fanbase grows every day and more and more people are waking up. I think Tom's point is that if you want his songs to be genuine, they have to come from his heart and be what he feels strongly about creating. If he makes songs just to satisfy what some fans are demanding, he'll be as fake as the manufactured garbage the labels release. Let Tom be Tom.
