    You have missed out Tofu Maru (zentofu.com) which is the one I bring for all my long trips. I have 2 Mogics Bagel but I felt Maru is the more versatile one.
    For shorter (under 1 week) trips when I'm only bringing my iPad Pro 11 or MacBook, I will usually bring along my Innergie 55cc or the SlimQ 65W to save space. If I need an universal adapter, I will just bring along the one that comes with the Bagel.
    Have not tried the Power Bagel and since I already owned a MASA, I might not have a use for them

    • @PackingLess
      @PackingLess  4 роки тому

      Hey, the tofu looks interesting I'll try to check it out one day. I think for me personally the new Zendure Passport Pro 2 USB-C with 61w power delivery is enough to satisfy my electronic charging needs for my next trip though

    Is there any reason to choose the us version over the international one? Even for people based in the US, the international version works with us plug with the added benefit of being able to handle europlug and UK plug. The only thing I can think of is the us version fits more snuggly since it has simpler design. Can you comment on that?

    • @PackingLess
      @PackingLess  4 роки тому +2

      Yes you're quite right. Looking at the details I cant see why you wouldn't just get the euro version. The only real difference is that the US version is a little bit thinner and perhaps lighter than the euro one.

      You’d be surprised I have had random people with no usb charging cord only a European wall charger and a phone that the charge port isn’t common here in the US on full melt down because they get here and don’t realize and to order anything takes days if you’re thinking of others it has a huge advantage

    How would this work in the UK? I get the grounded pull-out pin but the other two pins on the Mogics are cylindrical and not flat?

    • @PackingLess
      @PackingLess  Рік тому

      Thats a good question, I havent tried it in the UK, but I think the rounded pins still fit into the UK sockets, theres a 3rd leg that stabilizes it in the outlet.

      it only pops out in one direction, try pushing from both sides and it should come out

    i carry a 6 port USB charger - the anker powerport speed 5. all the things i need charged are usb now, and my phone is usb-c with pd.
    this bagel would be great if i carried a laptop, however it looks like the two usb ports are only 5v 2A, and not usb-c

      Yes thats true, its a shame theres not at least one usbc on this. Hopefully they'll update it

      Mogics currently have a new Kickstarter campaign open since January 2020, where they have upgraded the Bagel version 2 to a Super Bagel with one USB-C port (along with 18W Power Delivery. 20W altogether if power is shared with USB-A)!
      Mogics are also selling another interesting car charging product; Macaron within the same Kickstarter campaign.
      On the new Super Bagel, they have also improved the fuse system to make it auto-reset, so you don't ever need to replace a fuse on the Super Bagel itself. (The small central MA1 adapter still requires you to replace the fuse, should you ever need to).

    Unless you didn't know, you forgot to mention two other key points:
    1) The EU pins (rounded heads) can be further extended by unscrewing (to the max). Just makes it easier to plug into Type E/C EU-like outlets which are generally harder to get into without needing an extended adapter. This new adapter version was released in like early 2018 from Mogics second Kickstarter campaign, and you can see the original campaign and video demonstration here --> www.kickstarter.com/projects/962021031/fresh-mogics-donut-and-bagel-new-upgrades-special
    2) The bagel and the adapter itself come with separate replaceable fuses, should either blowout.

    • @bluehurry4334
      @bluehurry4334 5 років тому

      @sayvai this looks like it's the older version, right? I think the newer version has a case that covers the entire doughnut instead of having a hole in the middle.

    • @Sayvai
      @Sayvai 5 років тому

      @@bluehurry4334 I think the newer version had a fully covered case from when i've ordered from their second (latest) Kickstarter campaign as a gift for a friend, but can't verify as i am no longer in contact with the friend. But yeah, it's a bit odd he has a hole in the cover, even this Kickstarter article update from Mogics back in November 2017 confirmed there would no longer be holes on new covers 🤔

      Onto the adapter shown in the video itself, he definitely is using the newest adapter (v2), because i notice the edges of the adapter being uplifted and curved up and inwards, whereas on the original first version, the edges were flat like 90 degrees without curving towards flatness if you know what i mean.

    45w USB-C charger that came with my laptop (with a type A plug) and two simple/light/flimsy/cheap adapters to go from type A to EU and Australian plugs, respectively. Charges my laptop, phone and power-bank in about 209g :)
    Interested in the new gallium nitride chargers such as the Anker PowerPort Atom (30W), but then I'd lose built-in cable management...

    Very poor design, not up to code. There is no ground. The sockets are
    not fingerproof. The wire is to thin; it should be 3 × 1.5 mm². American
    NEMA 1-15 plugs are rated 125 V and should never be connected to 230 V.
