Would you prefer a city full of live pirates on the ocean floor? That's creepy.
Nah, I’m sure they’d keep to themselves. Far too many pirates today have guns and probably could wipe out those old timers. Ancient weapons were no match for a few guys with AK-47s.

I'm gonna guess they drowned.
Yep- the sand base sunk down and they croaked. Was it luck? I guess that depends on your view of pirates!
they fell asleeep, and a tidal wave the size of new mexico dropped on by and then everyone adpated ish...lol
Actually most of them died in the days following from the murder, looting and the diseases, injuries he mentioned in the video which occurred after the earthquake sank parts of town. Nice people just doing nice things when they get the chance how surprising.
Scoober party went bad!
Maybe dead pirates built it in the sea, much like the pirates of the Carribean scene where the dead roam the sea floor ? And they were so satisfied so they decided to actually die there, since well living as undead in underwater city was no Poseideon story.

The British bribed Jamaican pirates to join their army, which also eliminated them as a threat. Every problem has a solution. In the 19th century, the tiny nation of Estonia underwent a widespread famine. The government enacted an emergency law which prohibited people from abandoning their farms in search of greener pastures elsewhere. In effect, this law prevented Estonian men from deserting their own women, who were largely immobilized by their femininity. This was an indirect national security measure, as it conditioned military-age Estonian men to refuse to financial rewards in exchange for unraveling the security of their dependents.
But in fairness, people of African descent are not Nordic. With so much gold laying under their feet, no amount of defiance, however oblique, was going to succeed at defending the continent against marauders.

The dropped the Evan for my dad, the. Dropped the whole name for me. This story fascinates me. I can’t wait to delve deeper....so to speak

My dad had a name passed down through his family for 800 years (except for a spot of Anglicisation), and it ended when he had 2 daughters. Always thought it rather a pity that I would see the end of that branch of the family.
2 pieces of 8 was called 2 bits, and so was a quarter.

Imagine all the treasure that was washed out to sea. Might have to get my scuba gear out.
items come up for sale on ebay sometimes, I almost bought a ring, wish I had, the water is very polluted in the bay and that is one reason why there arent a lot of relics; it's dangerous to dive.
Im jamaican and apart of the local myth is that the pirates hid there gold In. Church in the center of town. That was the last straw and GOD got pissed (as he normally does, like seriously what with the big guy constantly loosing his cool). It is said that the church is still intact and all the gold is still there but local scuba divers say that the church became a breeding ground for octopi. So no one can ever get treasure out.
Jamaica is beautiful place filled with rich history. I recommend everyone to visit there. Another big part of Jamaican history are mermaids (when I was a child I feel out of a boat and before I lost con I saw something swam to me as I sink. With longvflowing hair and feminine feature. I woke up on a beach about half a mile away from where I was over board. I could of just hallucinated when I was about to lose consciousness and just got washed up unsure but I'm pretty convinced that I was saved by a mermaid.

There's actually strong evidence Columbus was NOT Italian by birth, but rather Portuguese. He didn't speak or write in Italian. Many of the places he named were named after cities in Portugal. And even on his death bed he refused to answer questions about his lineage and upbringing.
No, the name of the cities are in SPANISH all of them our language might sound similar but is not the same. Second , he was Genovese, he talked and wrote Genovese. Italians usually back on those days were pron to use their dialects, even today. The only thing that links Portuguese and Colón was his studies of navigation in Portugal.
Not to mention none of the portraits of him (at least those in this video) were painted in his lifetime. I think there's only one actual painting of him done while he was alive, by an artist in the Caribbean that he knew. I have to say, he didn't look anything like I would have expected.
I'm a direct descendant of Captain William Henry Ricketts, the only commander from Cromwell's Jamaican campaign who received a large tract of land on the island (there were 6, I believe) in gratitude for their service, to actually MOVE to Jamaica, live on his land in the Parish of Saint Elizabeth, raise 12 children, & ultimately die of old age there (although possibly "at sea") in 1703. The others were merely absentee landlords of their lucrative sugar cane plantations. He made it his home, & his children did as well.
“ 2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits a dollar”...young girls sang that when jumping rope when I was a child.
In Texas, we also had a cheer: "Two bit, four bits, six bits, a dollar! All for the [insert team name here], stand up and holler!"
When I was a kid it was "first pizza at regular price, $5 for each additional".
"Pizza" was replaced with "hookers" in school. Apparently, hookers were more expensive in Jamaica in the 1600's! 😂
Two bits, four bits, six bits a peso! All for Zorro stand up and say so!
