A true rarity - Neil Finn is a musical genius, yet so humble & unassuming of a person that you'll ever meet.
hey wunderschöner mann von anfang an. eine erinnerung daran durch gezeiten vernommen, in zeit kommend, blicke schweifen hande gleiten wir verschwinden um uns einmal mehr zu finden.-hey beautiful man from the start. a reminder heart through tides, in time moving, eyes rove hands slide we disappear to find each other once more clear.
I think neil is a proud kiwi! Us ozzies would luv to claim him. Such great musicians and song writers! Keep on keeping on crew
SOUTH YARRA He lived in the street next to where i live now. Bad timing on my part.
One of the great songwriters of our time.
Jay Amernick thank you .😘🦆
Without A Doubt !
The Mccartney of NZ
@@richieroma I'll buy that!
Hey. Thanks. loving this
Mid 50's and I don't think Neil has ever sung better.
WOW, I was just blown away. “Flying In The Face Of Love”, “Strangest Friends”, “Driving Me Mad” and “White Lies and Ali bis”.for me all these songs were extraordinary, the lyrics very meaty and the music has such a wonderful sound. All the musicians were right on time and I really liked the way Lisa harmonized with Neil Finn. Neil Finn seems like a very deep person. Very beautiful. It’s true, “everyday you do what you can do to survive” and when things are not working out just go and eat some COOKIES! Thank you KEXP, sweet interview.😋😘🦆
Danke für Deine Musik!
his new album is perfection !
Neil's voice just gets better and better with age.
Love this performance. Finntastic!!!

wow brilliant - driving me mad was amazing with the girls voice
Erghm... the young woman you mean? Yeah, she's a great singer with a lovely smooth voice.
Anyone know her name?
Wait: they actually ASK Neil to introduce the crew!

Outstanding
He can't do anything wrong! Genius!!!!
Great!
Un artista formidabile
Not often I hear my last name mentioned. Especially belonging to such a beautiful woman!
COOL
Bueno.
Sharon Finn usually plays bass in this combo
I , as an American, think that you Aussies and Kiwis should tell all all American artists to #$ off and not play, buy or download a single one of our shit artists until the Finn Brothers, Crowded House, and Split Ends get into the Rock n Roll HOF. Get organized and get it done please. This is one of the greatest musical collaborative groups in the entire world and the crap they has proceeded in getting in before these immortal geniuses. So please get it done and do it loud!!!
Ooo groovy
didn't realize Midlake toured with Neil
Omg did Alastairs cymbal just come off 3:27
Nick Ferrett It most certainly did! Here's a photo of Andrew catching on immediately mid-song and coming to the rescue: www.flickr.com/photos/kexp/13628912053/in/album-72157643419990663 If you're interested in seeing the rest of the photos I took from that session, here they are. @@kerawin Great ! Thanks
-------> IF DAVID BOWIE WERE BORN IN THE US
The guy is from New Zealand ( as five sixth of his band here)
And I see very few parallels with Bowie.
I can agree with you there. However when I closed my eyes and listened to him perform it felt to me, very Bowieish. Style wise.
Justin Cimock Neil ranks Bowie highly in his influences though. He did a punchy cover of Moonage Daydream with Pajama Club that you can find on UA-cam somewhere.
archidroid I appreciate that, I'll have to give it a look!
Oh - you got a brushless gimbal!
21:36 funny drummer
He's an awesome drummer! Alistair - anyone know his family name?
And is that Elroy Finn on bass?
Ahh! From 9:05 - it's Alistair Deverick:

@@julianwarmington1267 Thanks for the info! Here you have more: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boycrush_(musician)
Daaammmmmnnn. As an Australian Neil Finn is the man, so it's funny to see him here amongst all the smaller indie type groups that KEXP normally features
KIWI from New Zealand
@@LUKEIS99 thankyou
Lame d.j.. no feedback after first song other than to ask, " ready for a second song"?
Neil Finn is Australian
Actually, Neil is from Te Awamutu, New Zealand.
Te Awamutu New Zealand
no he's not......
kiwizeppelin Of Irish decent, but those fab Finn Boys are from Te Awamutu, NZ. Unless Te Awamutu moved, it's in New Zealand...I worked with Neil and Tim years ago at Capitol Records in NYC, and that's what they told me. I don't think they would make that up...
carolloveskiwis absolutely. Aussies have a history of claiming Kiwi things , Pavlova Split Enz Phar Lap Dragon.....but theyre welcome to Russell Crowe......
The host acts like he is totally bored or maybe it’s just business as usual.
Love Neil Finn. Did not love this at all. Sorry I'm not even going to make it rhyme. I just don't have that much space.
