I've always loved and admired him and his abilities. He achieved great heights and did it all by himself with the help of the only unconquerable weapon that he had - knowledge. He was forever and remains for me the most magnificent and charismatic character. I will miss him so much in the eighth season (I was so hoping for his meeting with Varys .. but alas). I still don't believe he died. I never believed that this could happen. He was too smart. And I'm very sad from such a loss. Farewell the great and mighty lord of chaos.
I hope you enjoy this video, guys!

Ned died because he tried to apply Winterfell ethics in Kings Landing - Petyr died because he tried to play Kings Landing games in Winterfell
damn thats good
well duh - and everything in this whole story is because someone wrote it that way ... but it would have played out similarly were it real ... Ned would be Ned and would behave as he did his whole life in Winterfell - and Petyr as this character would be so full of himself and deluded by his obsession with Kat / Sansa that he would be bound to misstep in a place where the default is trust and not fear - we're assuming that in a 'real life' situation Arya and Sansa wouldn't at some point speak to each other ... in this instance they seemed to both be locked in their rooms between episodes ... but as a general statement about how both characters (Ned/Petyr) operate in their respective contexts - Petyr's games work best when there is space between the people he's manipulating - Ned's sensibilities are admired in a place where community and family are required to survive and you aren't worried about your family wanting to kill you for status ...
Beautiful parallel
ned trusted LF and died just like LF underestimated stark children and died
deep man and so true.
The fall broke him in the end, but damn did he climb that ladder.
bran pushed the ladder over
Good that someone finally did that. They never do it in movie sieges when the attacker climbs the walls! :P
Was awesome. As soon as I reckon they all three gathered at the tree and Bran handed them the dagger is when I think he told them. Peytr Baelish power was the shadow but before Bran's eyes he was naked.
Henbot apparently not, there was a scene before his 'trial' when Sansa suddenly realises she's got an all seeing cctv centre at her disposal and goes to see bran, bean tells her, Yea na don't murder your sister, he's the one that caused all this shit but they cut it cause it spoiled the stark children turning on him
U sure?
the parallels with bran saying "chaos is a ladder" and "i did warn you not to trust me" were so perfectly cut together! actually, the whole thing was perfect, as always!
Thank you so much! :)
That was my favorite, also. It's Bran being the mockingbird in those moments.
Yep. Always a great job and always a pleasure to watch.
oh yeah, that was pure beauty! :D

That's one of my life mottos right there
What does he actually mean by this?
@@themandontaye when he was younger he wanted to marry Catelyn but she was already engaged to Brandon Stark. Littlefinger challenged him to a duel for her hand. Brandon easily won the duel and badly wounded Littlefinger, he only survived because Catelyn asked Brandon to spare him. That day Littlefinger realized he wasn't a warrior and there was no point in pretending that, he learned that in order to rise in the world he would have to know what skills he had and what skills he didn't have and to learn how to use those that he did have.
@@masterplokoon8803 it makes sense now. Thanks man 💪🏼💪🏼

He played the game of thrones.. and he played it well.

But Cersei deserves it more ;)

Agreed
Peter might be one of the best players in the game of chairs. Brans visions are to much for anyone
wont happen in the books :)
Drygin Baelish What makes you so sure?
+Jorah Mormont
1) bran just can look through the trees, so he cant see the things in kingslanding, 2) There are no "power is power" scenes in the books, because baelish is shown much cleverer in the books (in the tv show cersei is more superior) and so he also wouldnt do mistakes in the books like "nobody saw it" after he got WARNED by bran "chaos is a ladder" what was also a thing nobody could have seen and baelish reacted to it like he would understand it.
Drygin Baelish There is a tree in King's Landing. We don't know the sight range of trees, but there is one in King's Landing. And that Cersei thing? Littlefinger perfectly knew she needed him. She could've killed him back then, but she didn't because he had made her need him to win the war. Just because it didn't happen in the books doesn't mean it's out of his character in the show. After all, the show is not a digital copy of the books, but a separate universe that got inspired by those books. Not everything has to be the same. Btw, we haven't seen will Bran be able to have any visions like those in the show in the books. But just because we haven't seen them yet doesn't mean they won't happen. We don't know that. It is irrelevant to speak about something we haven't seen, but still, as long as you're not 100% sure, you can't tell it'll be different in the books. I personally believe the same thing as you. I doubt he will be written off in such a way like this one, but it's just what I believe. When I'm talking about something I don't know is it true, I use words such as: believe, think, predict... You used the verb "will not", which is used for things that will happen for sure because you have proves. Since you can't be sure, you used the wrong words. Next time, say it *probably* won't happen in the books, or that you think it won't happen.
+jorah mormont 1) Sorry but thats not true. Baelish knows everything but he couldnt do that. First he wont provocate people when it has no reason. He just get Cersei against him. He wants to be more in the background. But MORE important. Cersei showed several times in the books that she made huge mistakes and took people away who she needed. She isnt thinking that she needs baelish at all. And especially when baelish is gone at season 4. She never had the thoughts "omg we need baelish, if baelish would be here" the opposite is the fact. After season 4 she thinks she has better advisor at her side and that it is good that baelish, varys and co is gone.
2)the thing is. the "chaos is a ladder" scene by bran was just to have a "omg scene" for the viewers because it has no influence at all. The writers forget the scene at baelish trial scene. One of the 1000 things when the writing of season 7 made no sense George R R martin wont make such mistakes. He never did.
The most realistic character of them all... If I were to choose which character to take advice from, it would be him without a doubt.
But you can never fully trust him.
I'm aware of that, of course.
Success is guaranteed if you listen to Littlefinger. It'll be a success that benefits him, to some end, yet a success nonetheless. He doesn't operate on false promises. He operates on promises he can fulfil to further his station.
I truly believe he would've helped Ned take the iron throne if he had agreed to Littlefinger's plan. That would put Littlefinger into a position to advise the king directly.
Without a doubt, mate.
Aiden Gillan absolutely smashed it in the show; in the first few season, when his script was immaculate, he commanded every single scene he was in, and that REALLY means something when pitting him against the likes of Sean Bean, Lean Heady and that Irish guy who plays Varys.

Bad writing is the deadliest killer.
Glad to see this comment. I entirely agree... bad writing killed Littlefinger because he was too big for the weak. As Olenna commented about Cersei and how she could never imagine the horrors she'd commit. That was her failing.
Emm... Do you think about that coin what Littlefinger gave to that blonde girl, before "he's die" ? His grandfather is from Braavos and that coin looks like a coin for faceless, interesting ? Isn't it ?
And this is why it is bad writing. For some reason he said that he wants the throne, for some reason he broke his own rules. And this strange "love" with Sansa.. wut?. There is no love in Littlefinger`s world. His last decisions are so dumb. I hate season 7 charaters lost themselves + ugly stupid dialogs(sometimes) + Bad/good guys and incest as a centre of plot.
@@niyah7139 isnt it a bit weird that the man who basically sais "dont tell anyone what you want" let everybody know about his desires for catlyn? And he also let varys, his nemesis, knoe that je wants the throne. Suspicious isnt it?
@@aropKR I saw it more as Hubris. He thought that the whole time that he was still playing Sansa and the Starks were getting played with each other. His mistake was that he didn't know the Starks well enough, as well as Bran Hacks.
One of the best, if not the best, players of Game of Thrones. He put things into motion while he was hiding in the shadows. Unfortunately he was just a man who got into love with Stark women and in the end he paid for it with his life. His only weakness was love for someone who he didn't think would ever betray him.
RIP master mind player.
CHAOS IS A LADDAH
he was the best....
the most interesting...
they fucked up by killing him, I was hoping varys and him to meet again
Yeah, the producers simply did not have enough time to give him (like many other characters) a proper conclusion... Biggest shame of this season for me, to be honest. I'm more than certain that he'll come much closer to getting what he wants in the books, though. That's the actual reason why I'll read all of them when the show ends.
he lived till season 7 are you not happy about that? he could've died earlier
I actually think he loved kat and Sansa, but that his first love/ want was the iron throne. He always played towards those two loves, but when they came into conflict, his want for the iron throne won out.
He deserves not respect in death, he was disgusting and nasty and his kingdom of shadows was naked before Bran piercing sight!
In the end of the video I decided to make a slight parallel with the stopping of the heartbeat and the singing of the mockingbird. The heart stops and the mockingbird ceases to sing. 3-2-1-dead. I hope you like this idea.

the moment bran said "chaos is a ladder" Petyr should`ve run as fast as he can from winterfell
If GOT was realistic, he would be the King , he’s death was completely ridiculous
no
King? No, ruler? Yes, tywin wasnt king but he was the one ruling everythingz if tywin wouldnt have existed then petyr wouldve been the most powerful man alive
Are dragons realistic? Are faceless men realistic?
Yes got is realistic. Somehow the producers succeed to make a realistic show which involves dragons, wights and etc. But this type of scenario bugs made the last seasons unrealistic
@@buzz4205 It's less about being realistic and more about the writing not being logical. Just cause it's a fantasy doesn't mean actions and dialogue should be illogical.
Everyone of us is here to pay their respects to the greatest Game of Thrones character and THE underdog of all TV.. Climbed the ladder so high from nothing. Hopefully Sansa does not forgot his lessons.
Keep dangerous men close to your enemies because good is too stupid to prevail.
THE RIGHTFUL KING OF WESTEROS
long live littlefinger.
i'm still hoping for the books.
I don't think the title king suits him, just like with Tywin. "Kingmaker" is what guarantees him having kingly powers without the dangers and risks of being a king.
I think brienne is going to kill him in the books, it’s obvious that littlefinger can’t be outsmarted, but he can be physically killed

Petyr Bealish was such a great character, he was a character you learned to love throug the seasons, but in the end he had to die.
R.I.P. Petyr :(
I think, his dead was to soon and not the one I expected after 7 seasons, but, god, I enjoyed it so much. He was such a disgusting man.

i dont think he is dead. in the episode where he "died" there were many hints that he is not dead and instead of him a faceless men died.
I despised him i don't get why you guys like him
Petyr Baelish was by far the best character of GOT... He exuded confidence in himself, was intense, dark, sexy, charismatic, compelling, he had so many layers... No one play the game better than and I'm going to miss him so much!!! I have seen many videos, but yours is the one that has best captured the essence of this complex character... I also love your farewell, referring you to him as "the great and mighty lord of chaos" Excellent work, beautiful indeed! It will definitely be on the list of videos that I will see many... many times. Ohhh... and the thing you do with the singing of the mockingbird, was just exquisite!!! Thanks!!!
You make it look like He was the main character of the show. And this was what I always wanted.
Alas he never had his final showdown with Varys.
littlefinger could've played such an intersting role in the end of game of thrones. true shame they got rid of him
Fuck D&D
Sono d' accordo
He was the most cunning character ever made. A self made person like him had no chance to sit on the iron throne. But he still played the game of thrones.
He was a true alpha. We can all take some amount of inspiration from him. Keep fighting.
Petyr was the best player in the Game of Thrones. He shouldn't have died. He didn't die in the books. Killing Petyr made the entire show boring. I loved Petyr's character. The book is better.

Peter Baelish:- A man with mysterius mind who played the game of thrones well enough.❤❤👍
He was an interesting villain. He's also the one who takes part in Sansa's development. Thank you Lord Baelish for all your many lessons.
*His level of game playing was too much for the elementary level of season 7 and 8 so D&D killed him off so all the characters they have dumbed down recently could all balance.*
Love this character so much. Killing him off ruined the game for me, the moves of the chest pieces by the nimble, clever, climber, charmer, bullied, belittled Littlefinger, Lord Baelish. Beautiful video tribute to his character Aiden would love it, I'm sure. Well done.
A great farewell to a great character. Some of us love to hate him and some hate to love him. That's what makes him a great character.
Thank you so much!!!
This is heartbreaking. I relate to Baelish so much. Cats sister was right, "She's just like her mother she'll never love you!". Sad.
i am sure that sansa had feelings for him in the show! she even cried during his death scene.
And so goes the last really interesting character. They dumb downed Tryion. They rushed Jon and Dany's relationship. They made everyone come together for no good reason. Charcaters managed to get to places in record time that would be impossible even with dragons. There were so many holes, yet they released it. I didn't hate season 7 cause of hype let down, it just felt dissapointing for a season I've waited so long to see.
I still have a little tears in my eyes, but it's because what you've made is amazing as he was and i love him, even with after all he did
Your comment is great! He was my favorite character too.
Javier Estrada yea well just as me! He actually was the smartest and as we didn’t know him that well, he was the most interesting. I don’t think he was that mean either like obviously he killed some people but who didn’t in this game? He just was ambitious and his life wasn’t that easy, he struggled so yea I guess he deserved more than this way of death

There are many men like Littlefinger in the world that women must be skeptical of. Awesome video!
Agree! Thank you so much! :)
Zurik! It gives me chills and teary eyes.
Petyr was too vast intellectual challenge for Weiss and Benioff, when George couldn't continue to contribute to the show since the season 5. But it also might be, that initial subtle differences between the source material and the show became fully grown dragons ( starting as butterflies ) as George put it. Therefore the whole Petyr's plotline could have been removed. I am also very disappointed in Weiss and Benioff for saying, that Petyr was a sociopath. I think that Aidan Gillen's reaction expressed disappointment and sadness over this gross oversimplification , because he said he tried to find something more in him.
That elusive human 'more' is what constantly kept me on my toes. The battle between pure self-perseverance and caring about someone else more than you care about yourself...Sansa . One of the biggest points George makes in his books is, that most people are grey in the morality spectrum. That makes things less predictable, ergo more exciting. Sorry for the rant!
I will easily prefer if they killed generic characters like Jon, Daenerys or Arya
And give us 3 seasons of Varys vs Littlefinger playing the game until the end.
daenerys is not a generic character tho
Arya, Jon and Daenerys are not generic at all. None of the characters are generic, they all have so much complexity. It’s true Varys and Littlefinger are arguably the most interesting characters but characters such as Jon, Dany and Arya are also super complex
@@joeyjerry1586 In the last 3 seasons they are generic.
Jon conflict between love vs duty was really intersting. But after he die in Season 5 he became a generic main character without any complexity.
Without plot armor he should've die at battle of the bastards since Ramsey completely play with him and outsmart him in every way.
Post-Bravos Arya hardly can be clasify as a character. She became a plot device without complexity or any human struggle. D&D make her a weird version of westeros Batman without any justification or logic behind her actions.
Daenerys is the only one that isnt generic. But sadly D&D use almost all of Daenerys screen time in generic actions scenes and bullshit speeches. They cut and butcher her inner struggles. And without enough time to develop the interesting aspects of her character, we get a rush and unsatifying ending.
@@avalle4493, definitely agree. I really despised especially what they did with Arya but in those first 5 seasons they were actual characters. Even Littlefinger and Varys were dumbed down so much in the last couple of seasons

In a better world, where season 8 wasn’t poorly written and rushed. Petyr might’ve returned. But we don’t live in that world.
Rip Petyr baelish you were the master player and one of my favourite characters. It's a shame these past 2 seasons truly ruined the legendary master of the Game of thrones, the writers truly didn't know how to work with you once they couldn't follow George's work. how they went from creating great scenes specifically for your character with varys and their behind the scenes war to having him pathetically chase round after Sansa like an old pervert. rip Petyr baelish s1-s5 + s6-s7 you deserved better as do many other characters...
FLGSC it's not that it's just in season 6 he did nothing the whole way through until he helped them take winterfell and then in season 7 it felt like he was just making small plays. whereas before that he was controlling the whole game and now he was just failing at stirring things up a little. A lot of his decisions weren't as tactical or thought out as before and he made so many mistakes the little finger of the previous seasons wouldn't have.
@@tsmith8082 if you consider that littlefinger on his own startet the war of the five kings he could be regarded as a main character
As The Long Night comes and all the White Walkers with their Army of the Dead, politics will be obsolete. No more chess moves to make or games to play with this great house or that great house.
I'm new to your work, but this is my favorite by far. Oddly, my favorite parts are where the music goes abruptly silent, at "...But he would see this country burn if he could be king of the ashes." and Baelish and Bran's overlay of "Chaos is a ladder." So good. I've watched this on repeat for the last two days.
Beautiful, you made tribute worthy of him.
He was one of the best players so he just had to go, but i loved the way he died. It was only matter of time when Starks kill him, because they suffered the most because of his game.
But I adore him and I will miss him.
I wish Varys stays alive, but i really doubt that.
This is one of the best video about Petyr that exists in this universe. I LOVE IT. thank you so much!!!!!!!
Little finger makes all story of westeros houses conflicts.
he made chaos, he made death, he made every tragics.
Kills John and Lysa Arryn, Kills Ned and Katline Stark, Kills Jofrey Baratheon.....
his ambitions made every crack on the great houses.
He didn't kill catelyn tho
@@brin2 she died bcoz of the war started by Robb to save his father, who was captured because of littlefinger.
@@three752 she died because Robb pissed on the Frey daughter not because of Baelish, if he had married the daughter Catelyn would still be alive
The most powerful, cleverest and prolific player of the Game.
A perfect example of dedication and sheer genius.
Maybe the only man who outplayed Tywin Lannister.
Tyrion outplayed him lol. Tywin has an arrow in the body to remember.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 which was caused due to Littlefinger's action.
@@athithyajayadevan3857 Varys, if anyone.
What??!! When the hell did Littlefinger out played Tywin, he caused a war my manipulating Ned, Robert, by killing Jon Arryn, by blaming Tyrion of the cutthroat, and conspiring with Joffrey and Cersei
Where was Tywin outplayed, Tywin was among the best players, and Littlefinger has well, but they were playing different games,
Tywin was so good that he never lost a war, never failed in his duty, and yet manage to be the most powerful man in westeros, it’s obvious that players like this can only be killed by their family members.
Littlefinger Was a very very very good player, if not the best, he was able to use Joffrey and Ned, and after he got the war in motion he did his best to help Tywin winning to marry Lady Arryn, after that he got rid of Joffrey, to get Sansa, and then he gave her way to the boltons, so she could be Warden, after that it was only marriage between him and Sansa
So where was Tywin outplayed by Littlefinger
I always love the parallels you make between characters and what they say/do! I can't imagine how much time each of these videos take. This one made me tear up a little by the end. Awesome job!
I can’t help but believe little finger wouod have been king without bran being all knowing which caused his downfall
The only man who PLANNED it till the end , the rest were just consequences of events
Petyr Baelish Will Win The GAME OF THRONES. Why you ask? Isn't he dead you say?
"THE BEST TRICK THE DEVIL EVER PULLED OFF WAS CONVINCING THE WORLD THAT HE DID NOT EXIST"
Petyr's great grandfather was from Bravos, As soon as he comes back to winterfell with Sansa he sees that the starks have united, there is no way Littlefinger would ignore so many subtle warnings from Arya and Bran and Jon and Sansa, he played another game. He replaced himself with a faceless man, you can see so many changes in the behaviour of Petyr from episode 8 when he is seen talking to a maid. Believe me or not, This was the end George R. R. Martin has been planning, It's still Petyr playing the game of thrones. In the books Petyr Baelish is like Sherlock Holmes. He has no weakness, he knew it was coming ofcourse, anyone who read the book knows it, he is not a fool but a brilliant mind of a complex and un-predictable character.
Catastrophe Cause as long as I love ur comment, but I think he is dead in the show ..
Oh, I would love it! But I assume a faceless man needs to extract your face first, which requires you being killed. It is supposed to be an ancient blood magic. Or maybe it is some kind of Braavosi conspiracy theory to undermine Seven Kingdoms! Maybe there is more of them. Lol. That would explain the fast travel accross the continent.
I am afraid, that Petyr was too vast intellectual challenge for Weiss and Benioff, when George couldn't continue to contribute to the show since the season 5. But it also might be, that initial subtle differences between the source material and the show became fully grown dragons ( starting as butterflies ) as George put it. Therefore the whole plotline could have been removed.
I love your comment. I truly do. Actually everything you said is really true but about the fact that the faceless man needs to extract your face isn't true since It's shown that Arya was alive and yet someone was wearing her face.
Catastrophe Cause Oh! I didn't know it! But I can actually recall, that before she lost her sight, she saw her face on someone else. I have to admit I have read only the first book, so I am wondering if this happened in the books also. Because if it was just the show, it may have been there just as a nice metaphor to scare the viewer. But maybe I shouldn't put more emphasis on the books, because at this point they are separate worlds. But I really hope you are right! That would be the biggest plot twist ever! And I would love to see the audience explode in anger and confusion.
kika x This scene is also in the books, The better thing about the books is that Petyr is like sherlock in the books and not a psychopath which make it more possible that the book might end with this if not the show.
One of my favorite character
dude was so good only omnipitence could take him down. like literally a guy who can worgue see the past to get him....what a foocker
They really fucked up his storyline at the end, but he was such a genius and interesting character. Great video!
I've watched this so many times
Totally amazing. I'm blown away by how incredible this is. Simply brilliant.
Once in a while I come back to watch this masterpiece and get so much inspiration out of it, be it my characters or overall a story idea. I'm still saddened by the fact this video doesn't have at least 200.000 views. It deserves so much more. Such tempo, build-up, dynamic and crafting... This show's greatest and most interesting character was Littlefinger in my opinion, he made GoT the brilliant show it is by putting the "Game" in front of "Thrones". This is the most brilliant tribute to his character. Shows every side of him, shows his genius. The music choice and everything is hypnotizing.
This video deserves more. Hundred thousands of views, millions even. I am so disappointed :(
Two years have pasted since you wrote this comment, but if you’re still interested, there’s a video called “Littlefinger is the protagonist” and it has 1-2 million views, I know it’s actually a theory but the building up and dynamic is sooo well done that it almost seems to be a Tribute
My favorite GoT character. This video is amazing
This is absolutely incredible. Baelish is one of my absolute favorite characters of GoT. He's despicable, but he is a maniacal genius. He lived as long as he did because of it and he could have easily gotten the Iron Throne had he not taught Sansa what he did. Thank you for uploading. 😊
this is the best tribute i have ever seen for any character
True 💯
I have watched and impatiently followed Zurik videos since 2014 (when I found this channel), always craving more. But I swear to God this is one of the most beautiful things you have ever made. This is glorious, and I cannot believe it only has 35k views and JUST 3k likes. How even on Earth. You should be so proud of your work, and please never stop!
Goodbye Little Finger, thank you for being an awesome and interesting character. You will be missed :(
That is an absolute masterpiece! The editing is spectacular. Best tribute to the character!
The best character in Game of Thrones!
