In this video I inspect a leaking flat roof in need of replacement. What I find blows my mind! Ok, I have seen this type of work before but I am always surprised how little some roofers care about their work and the customer.
I document the major flaws and looking forward to replacing this with a proper flat roof system.

Awesome video man! I want to see more worst roofs ever! Something like a 3 layer shingle roof overtop of cedar shake.
I turn those down now because we literally lose a piece of our soul at those jobs. 😢

So scary! Hits home like Mike Tyson. It is August 7th and rainy today and I can hear it pouring on my ancient built up tar and gravel roof that last winter developed a leak during a warm spell that I managed to find and get stopped with a bag of Portland. Knowing it wouldn’t last but also knowing a new roof is not in the budget I’ve now managed to clean it off and apply gallons of some liquified mediaeval knights with a few layers of meshy stuff to give it strength. It has worked, it actually seems to really bite to the old. My first coat I used foundation coating after being told of its high adhesion and moisturizing qualities (if the word quality can be used) now obviously a very poor solution that must be properly replaced. Can the permanent replacement go over the old roof? After cleaning and gravel removal. Which doesn’t seem to be a problem. What would you suggest and what would be the cost? Even material cost. Think you and your crew would travel to cottage country and maybe trade off labour for a holiday after the job at a nice little cottage on the beautiful French River delta? Fishing and boating or fishing and snowmobiling food and fuel provided and libations of course. Ahh if it was this easy.. cheers and great work and info. Jim.
Hi Jim! Thanks for the comment. Best recommendation I can make is to get 3 quotes and compare apples to apples. I know the farther north you go the cost can vary by region. I never recommend flying over a flat roof unless its the only option. I would look for a company that is Certified and has proper insurance. Unfortunately we do not travel that far for work but appreciate the offer. : )
@@schoenroofing thanks! Didn’t expect a quick response, pouring rain down there as well today! Lol. I guess you can ignore the offer I repeated to your website😢. Would be a great getaway if it could be organized with your guys or with families. Yes the time has come, I know i could have the basic skills but the body says no nowadays. Not like doing the siding and windows and being able to crawl into my nest for a few days to recover..kinda of a get it done now thing. Cheers and thanks again!
