The Texas Tech men’s cross country team finished 4th in the big 12 meet in Waco today. This is their best finish in the big 12 championship meet ever! Thought I would mention that!
Tech is 13-8 vs Iowa State so it’s hasn’t been impossible to win in Ames. Just a friendly observation and you’re right about probably the best win we’ve ever had in Ames.
Even in conference play alone, even when deleting all defensive/ST touchdowns, Texas Tech is 5th out of 16 in touchdowns and points per drive. Not quite Colorado, but pretty good!
For the deficiencies in the secondary, do we think that could be an issue of the way they find guys? Could they be trying to find athletes and trying to turn them into a DB or are they recruiting true DBs but maybe they just aren’t good enough for P3 competition?
You brought up Cam Brown earlier today in your Keys to Victory. What has happened with him? I understand Hammond is the future and luv it… but Briwn impressed yall in preseason. Hence my question.
Jarret, they need to put their NIL money on the defensive line. Just look at the game today how undersized the defensive line is. Until they get their defense in the top 40 every year will be 7-5. Also what was with Joey happy to go to 4 consecutive bowls. Going to the Ft Worth bowl every year is not anything to brag about.
I agree some tech fans are delusional. We are in a much better spot than we have been the past 15 years. My main knock on Joey is he’s a defensive minded head coach and the defense is abysmal most of the year. As a defensive HC your “side” of the ball must be formidable.
I think he and Tim made a mistake to ride with the young talent instead of getting some pieces in the portal. The young guys aren’t quite ready but this season will pay dividends
