On Sept 24th I will be heading to stay with some Sisters at a monastery for discernment. I have my recommendation letter, and was told that I would most likely leave with an acceptance letter!! I spent an hour talking on the phone with the mother superior and I am very excited to FINALLY be where I have been dreaming to be! Please, Fr. Columba, pray for me and the sisters!!
Extra prayers for you. God bless your coming in and going out all of your life. Suggestion: Listen to Father John Burns homily. From a Father's Heart. (EWTN).It was given to professed Sisters and is beautiful and inspiring.
@@amaraheising4672 Thank you so much for referring this homily. I just listened to it and wept. So touching. I felt called for the majority of my life and at 49, I am finally surrendering to it and it feels liberating! I am absolutely nothing without Christ. God bless!!
@@skittles3791 Your welcome. I loved the homily so much! It speakers to the power in being a woman and mother so well. It was the most touching tribute and recognition deliver with tremendous eloquence and love. There is great grace and power in recognizing and honoring our gifts and unique qualities as men and women. Makes one think maybe God knew what He was doing. Glad you shared your comment.
Once, while I was running and hiking in the hottest time of the year, going too far for the amount of water that I had brought, I became overheated or hyperthermic. Being il-prepared, this was a metaphor for having been too long away from prayer and the practice of one's faith. This was not the first time I experienced hyperthermia. I lost my sight the second time in my life. Everything went dark and I saw nothing but blackness. Being physically blind was the result of being overheated, as if a warning for the effect of not having enough oil in my lamp during that period of time. I crouched down thinking that the blood pressure was too low and couldn't sufficiently reach the brain. So, shortly I recovered my vision. The act of crouching down could be a work of humility, which leads to renewed vision. I looked for shade as I was where the ground area was completely exposed. This is like the effect of sin which exposes us to the flames of hell. I spotted a small bush where I again crouched to cool off in the shade of the bush. The bush could represent Jesus Christ and the shadow like His protection from the effects of my overexposure. Overexposure is like the effect of being too long away from the life of devoted prayer and overexposed to the influence of the evil in the world. My crouching was humbling myself in the shadow of The Lord similar to those who hoped the shadow of Christ would fall on them when He passed by that they might be healed. Once I felt more confidence that I could walk out, I began making my way out of the heat slowly and to where I might find water. Not long after, an Angel appears in the person of a City Police Officer driving in my direction in his patrol car on the foot trail. He gave me water from his trunk when I asked if he had any water. By then, I had already started walking slowly out of the recreational area toward my car in the parking lot. Many of us, at times, are wandering far from a life centered on the Word of God which overshadows evil. The love of God provides the water of life, eternal life giving water. Jesus Himself said, God The Father promised Him that none of the ones given to The Son by The Father would be lost.
Thank you Fr for your great way of teaching I've watched so many of your videos in the last few weeks and I'm constantly learning. Go on the Irish. God bless you.
I have come to this understanding (I am currently an evangelical protesant) but my husband is adamantly opposed to the Catholic church and as we have two young children, I have taken spiritual direction at this time to wait and pray lest our family become divided. It is hard. I so desire to be part o the church and receive the sacraments, and yet I know that at this time, this is God's plan, and I would so appreciate your prayers for our family, that we might all be received into the Church and be in union with Christ. Thank you for the beautiful encouragement, Father Columba, it is a blessing to me.
@@meetch3898 I have done years of research on this matter. I wonder what brings you to this channel if you are not Catholic, nor in any way interested in the Catholic church. You will not find myself, nor Father Columba, on a protestant youtube channel trying to tear apart the faith of our evangelical, reformed, etc brothers and sisters. Be at peace, pursue Christ as you will, but leave those of us who are convinced of the truth of the Church christ founded 2000 years ago, at peace as well. I'm not interested in arguments. I'm assured of my beliefs and thus no argument is needed. God bless you.
@@meetch3898 Not offended, Meetch, just not particularly interested in this discussion. Keeping seeking, keeping knocking and the door will be opened for you. God bless you on your journey to Christ.
Dear @Bird and Bee Academy, that is indeed a difficult situation and please know we are praying for you, your husband, and your family. Clearly God has put becoming Catholic on your heart, and hopefully it’s not too long of a delay before you get to unite yourself with Him in the intimacy of His Church.
Thanks again for your amazing content. I find this discussion very interesting. I'm a catholic since child hood - fell away from the faith for a period but have then returned due to circumstances in my life leading me back o God and once again practicing in the catholic faith. My return however was largely led by encounters with God\Jesus which came predominantly through non catholic churches. I was kind of "led" to teachings from different priests and pastors. Best I can describe it was when they spoke I felt the holy spirit. The inner heart movements you speak of in other videos. The "consolation" from the ignatian spiritual excercises. So I studied a lot of the teachings of the individuals where I felt this consolation or peace of God on. It felt like I was being lead to do this. Many - actually most of these - were not catholic. Your are actually one of the few catholic priests/speakers I've felt the same Godly peace when listening to and studying. The thing I've found being exposed to teachers from a wide gammut of denominations is none of the churches are "perfect" or seem to have the whole answer.. None have everything perfect and its only kind of when you look broadly and are able to compare through experience you see that each one has a strength and weakness. You can see certain churches are far more proficient in worship. They really bring the presence of God through music in a way i have literally never experienced in a catholic church. We as Catholics just don't do that well. We just really don't (at least in the churches I've attended) and an area we could definitely learn from others. Then other churches have such reverence and focus on the word . Every member has their bible out. They don't just read it - they are studying it intently every service and during the week in between. Again I find that exceedingly rare in the Catholic churches I've attended. Some churches are more bold and proficient in healing ministries - some in evangelization - some in service. But you are right the Catholic and perhaps also orthodox are more "traditional" and they have retained the sacraments and ritual "sign acts" some of the other churches have de emphasized wrongly. It kind of feels like to me each "church" has part of the answer. Like a puzzle where the collection of answers - or truths - have been "separated" and its only through re-union - of all the churches back into a single body that the true church will be fully realized with all gifts truly displayed as God intended. That will require humility and friendship to recognize between all the churches we maybe don't have all the answers - and be willing to teach what others don't do well - but also learn from the other churches the things we don't do well.
THANKS YOU FR. C You've said it ALL. All that the world needs to hear at this time. ALL that we as followers of the Lamb need to proclaim from the roof tops ALLLL that we celebrate daily in the culminating prayer of the Sacred Mass daily "BLESSED ARE THEY WHO ARE INVITED TO THE "MARRIAGE" SUPPER OF THE LAMB !!!" ( hmm yes ... praying that the Missile is restored to the FULL/ALL sacred text - Rev 19:9)
To add to your video, St. Ignatius of Antioch actually was a disciple of John. He truly is the church father that kept me in the church. I highly recommend anyone here to read or listen to his letters.
I want to read the letters of Ignatius. Are they in book form somewhere or do I have to look them up letter by letter somewhere? thank you so much. I am not a Catholic, but God seems to be nudging me that way. (I am not a member of any church. I was raised in the godless home, and I’ve been seeking God for the last 20 years. I am 62)
Holy Catholic Church, please pray for the healing of my body and renewal of my mind so I can walk God’s glory. May His kingdom come and will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Thank you Jesus. We love You dearly.
Thank you again for your inspiration and knowledge. At the moment we are taking Fr. Mike Smitts' 'Catechism in a Year' programme. I grew up with the 'Old Catechism' and now feel so blessed to understand the role of bishops etcetera. Bless you.
Father, I really appreciate this teaching. I don't know much about Catholicism, I was raised Baptist. But I dont think Christ cares about denominations or religions. If you accept and experience his love and forgiveness. Breathless..i believe you are a spirit filled person. I love your teaching.
I think Jesus did care that we are all united in His one church that He established. John 17:20-23 New International Version Jesus Prays for All Believers 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may😢 be one as we are one- 23 I in them and you in me-so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
Very grateful that little 'ol me, crawling back to the faith and struggling with bringing my family with me, that I can access high-quality teaching in a click!! 😮💕🙏 Thank you!
So helpful, thank you Father. It can be easy to judge where people are in their faith instead of loving them there, I catch myself doing this all the time. This reminds me to see not their (and my own) brokenness but to remember that we are all loved and united in Christ.
I was raised Catholic, but I no longer consider myself Catholic, simply a Christian walking with Jesus. I absolutely love watching/listening to your video messages, you are funny and beautiful. I’m afraid the pope has lost his way… ❤
i love the part where you stress catholic in the Catholic Church. Inclusive and not exclusive. another great video! Thank you and may God continue to bless you!
Hi, can you do a video on the concept of Mary’s immaculate conception? I am a Protestant, and that’s the main issue I take with Roman Catholicism. But I’d love to hear your perspective because I agree with so much of what you say in your videos and have gained profound wisdom from you. The Bible teaches virginal birth for Christ, but I can’t wrap my head around the Roman Catholic belief that Mary was immaculately conceived, and I have read that this was a point of controversy in Catholic history for hundreds of years (perhaps today some still don’t agree). Thanks! God bless you and may you keep making these enlightening videos.
Thank you for such a beautiful message of hope for the united Church of God. I'm not only a survivor of the information onslaught, but a thriver! There is so much information coming at us daily&we really do have to be prayerfully discerning about what to allow into our minds. Over these past few years my hunger for knowledge was triggered when I experienced some practices within Church that I was not comfortable with,I began to search the scripture for evidence of these practices&realised that things were progressing from Biblical Jesus to Spiritual experiences, maybe doubt got hold of me,my Faith was tested, there was church&then there was the Bible, but somewhere along the way I may have thrown the baby out with the bathwater,I disconnected from that Church after taking my concerns to the pastors, then came the lockdown &although I didn't stop meeting for fellowship with other like minded Followers,I have struggled to fit back into church,it became a little too charismatic for me,hyper! Anyway,I appreciate your video,s,I can relate and be encouraged, although I do need a more permanent Church body to be a blessing to and blessed by,prayin for clarity&guidance🙏
May The Lord bless you, understand so much just never, ever abandon the sacraments, the power we get through them is inestimable especially when we are in grace
Great message Father, thanks! If I understand it correctly, St Ignatius was himself a disciple of St John the apostle and a mentor to St Polycarp. In fact, one of the 7 letters he wrote on his way to Rome to be martyred was to a young St Polycarp, who was also a disciple of St John. St Iraneus was a disciple of St Polycarp. Love your videos! 🙏
I absolutely loved this video!! The way you so beautifully and eloquently put this was amazing!! First video I’ve seen of yours can’t wait to watch more! Thank u🙏✝️
I want to become catholic because the Holy Spirit called me to seek out and partake of the Holy Body and Holy Blood of Christ. I ended up at an orthodox liturgy and it was so beautiful it moved me to tears. The ceremony of it was delightful, and I LOVED the respect given to the Eucharist (my background is non-denominational protestant, and Communion is a little less formal). I loved the church and the liturgy and the Eucharist and I would love to attend liturgy every day! But after the service the priest found out that I was never officially catholic, so he became annoyed and asked if I realized that I had eaten the Holy Body of Christ?? (I said "YES! That is specifically why I am here, as guided by the Holy Spirit!") but he became annoyed and stormed off. Now I was a guest in his house and I was attending in love and with the Holy Spirit, so I was not about to argue or make a conflict. But honestly I felt indignant. My experience and relationship with Christ is so real and palpable. I honestly felt like a bridezilla! I felt like a bride who was being denied her own wedding feast. I held my tongue but I wanted to point up at the ceiling the beautiful mural of Christ and say "Do you know who I am?? You see Him, the one you worship? I AM HIS BRIDE! I am the very reason He died on the cross!" but I did not say anything I held my tongue respectfully. But it is real to me and I felt like a bride being turned away from her own wedding feast because she isnt on the steward's guest list. Anyways long story short, I really considered becoming catholic just so I could attend liturgy and partake of the Eucharist without causing drama. It was so nourishing and beautiful. BUT... question for you sir! Is it possible to become a catholic without calling the church leaders "Father"? I think that is my last hang up. If he would be comfortable with me calling him "brother" (as in brother in Christ) or "servant of the Lord" which is the term I feel that the foot-washing, crucified God Jesus Christ would prefer (for what servant is greater than his master? and did not the master Jesus consider himself a servant?) then I would become a catholic tomorrow. But Jesus through the Holy Spirit and His Word instructed me not to call them "Father" Do you think I could find a catholic church that follows the Word on this? Would I be forced to choose between the command of my Lord Jesus Christ and the command of the church? This is the last hurdle I need to overcome before becoming catholic. And I am too simple to be convinced by man's logical arguments and rationalizations how Jesus did not mean what He actually said, but actually meant something other than what He said. I tend to be too simple for these arguments. I pray to the Holy Spirit, I read the Word, Jesus speaks, and I follow. I see that the light of Christ shines forth from you, and that you dwell in the Holy Spirit. Your guidance and input on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
@SomeRandomGuy nope. But I'm not gonna go out of my way to commit additional sins and violate the command of Christ just because I have already sinned and fallen short of His mercy. I don't know any catholics who have plucked out their own eyes either. Do you? And yet do catholics not condemn protestants and other groups for heresy? Do they not judge others, and strive to avoid committing additional sins whenever possible? Or do catholics pluck out their own eyes like you're saying?
@SomeRandomGuy correct. I wouldn't call a priest "Father" any more than I would call him "God". "Father" is a term reserved for our Father in Heaven. It was specially prohibited to be used as a title for church leaders by Jesus Christ. It's not my fault the catholic church strayed away from the Word and the plainly spoken instructions of Jesus Christ on this. Don't blame me.
@@xrendezv0usx then you wouldn't call your dad your father? you do know what hyperbole is right? you're picking and choosing which of His teachings to follow
Thank you for your videos! I'm very inspired by them. I also agree with your description of the essence of what the church is. The only thing I am confused about is ignoring the existence of the Orthodox church which was also present from the begining. If this is the argument for being the "real" church, what would be the reason for not following the Orthodox church? This is very sincere question. I don't wish to make a point, just hear the answer. And again, thank you for your work!
It has been approx 8 months, so maybe they didn't the notification of your question. 😢 Even as a Catholic, I have just a top, skim, level about the differences, but need to leave the depth of your answer to these priests. On this Pentecost Sunday, I hope you have peace with Christ & God bless you & your family.
Sorry brother, I walked out of church recently because I wasn’t aligned with my bishop’s thinking. I changed parishes and I’m still catholic but I’ve come to question the alignement of some of our bishops to the thinking of Christ. Back in the seventies, “progressive” Catholicism questioned the dogma of the church and stated that it suffices that one be “good” to be a Christian. As a result churches emptied : No need to be a Christian just to be good. It is always when the sacredness of a religion is questioned that it dies because if the root dies the rest withers. Today an attempt to introduce “wokeness” and the climate change agenda is clearly audible in our church, as if it were the condition to its survival. If the church is to live it has to be detached from any ideology since ideologies come and go. When are we going to understand that church is a place of adoration, that it is sacred, intemporal and eternal. It should be our safe haven, a place where we isolate ourselves from earthly matters to concentrate on what really matters.
We have to support our good priests and bishops and pray for the conversion of the bad ones. It’s helpful to remember what Hilaire Belloc once wrote: “The Catholic Church is an institution I am bound to hold divine - but for unbelievers a proof of its divinity might be found in the fact that no merely human institution conducted with such knavish imbecility would have lasted a fortnight.”
I agree that our principle duty is to worship God through Christ. Complying with the earthly rules of the church founded by Christ, the Catholic church, the official teachings of the pope and bishops who are descendants of the apostles and who are our guides and shepherds is part of that.
Your video helped me understand St. Catherine of Sienna when she said (I'm paraphrasing) if the devil himself became the Pope, we should still defend the Church. The fact that God gave us the Church clarifies I believe what she meant. Popes come and go but the Church should remain. And the devil would want the Church to dissolve and would undoubtedly work very hard to achieve this.
Please pray for my mother Julia. I REALLY want to send here this video but she's just so blinded by dispensationalism and confused on Paul's gospel, sending her this would just end up with an argument.
Hi Hogan, we’ll be sure to pray for your mother. Here is a great episode of a podcast on evangelising friends and family by Trent Horn. Link: www.catholic.com/audio/cot/nine-tips-for-evangelizing-friends-and-family You may find it helpful in engaging with your mother on this topic. God bless you!
Very clear and powerful explanation of this complex topic. I haven't heard anyone explain it so clear and so lovingly. I'm glad this channel was suggested to me by UA-cam. Thank you Father
Will you pease refute/debunk Greek orthodox theology on primus inter pares, and proof of the papacy so they can quit using the term papal protestantism or papism? Thanks and God bless!
Thanks for the suggestion - we'll discuss it with Fr Columba at the next content meeting. We're definitely going to be doing some more apologetics so will throw this in the mix.
@@ctmcatholic Copy that. Also adding the filioque clause and how it is NOT a contradiction like orthodoxy says, the immaculate conception, the role the pope played in the ecumenical councils (orthodoxy says that it was the emperor and college of bishops not the one pope), eastern theology aligned with western theology, papal infallibility (many protestants and orthodox mess up on this one), the smoke of satan infiltrating our church (with modernism and liberal ideas, and the disrespect towards the holy mass) also why orthodoxy can receive our sacraments and why the pope said not to convert them (heretical statement at most as they're not in communion with Peters chair) and finally, how they claim that Catholicism is not one church because of liberal and conservative novus ordo Catholics, sspx and fssp, and other sedevacantist and liberal groups who all claim to be catholic and all submit to the pope, but their views are different and there are many divisions as the result. Can you please clarify every single thing mentioned? We MUST clarify and save the true faith
Hi Donald, the teaching of the Catholic Church is far more nuanced than that. Here’s a good explanation: www.catholic.com/magazine/print-edition/what-no-salvation-outside-the-church-means
I am not a Catholic. I attend the Vineyard church. Do you think then that my salvation requires being Catholic, then? I have always thought a portion of everyone from everywhere would be saved. So am I destined for damnation for not being a Catholic?
Thank you so much for your honest question, Jake. In short, no we don’t think you are destined for damnation. To expand, I think this article does a great job: www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/is-there-really-no-salvation-outside-the-catholic-church Peace and blessings to you, brother.
@@ctmcatholic So if I'm ignorant that the Catholic church is required for salvation it then becomes the case that it isn't required for salvation, meaning it was never required for salvation? What defines ignorance? I don't believe it is required, I see nothing in the Bible about it, is that ignorance? You know there's a story of an eskimo in Alaska. A missionary came to him and told him that he would be saved if he follows Jesus. The eskimo asks, well if I didn't know about him would I be saved? The priest says yes. So the eskimo asks, well then why on earth did you tell me? So that's where I think this theology falls a bit flat. I'm just being honest with you, my faith has been until this point entirely predicated on honesty. The Holy Spirit has had a tangible effect in my life, and the Bible makes perfect sense through Him.
@@EzioAuditoreDaFirenze99 The Eskimo story is actually theologically accurate though. See Luke 12:47-48. I've prayed for God to reveal more to me on a couple of occasions and gotten a very clear response. Exact same both times. You aren't yet doing consistently well the things I've already revealed to you so I'm not giving you any more until you fix those. God doesn't ask things of us he knows we aren't ready or able to actually do. Its part of why the truth is "veiled" in scripture. We think we are sailing the ship but its really Gods hand in the background who is controlling things and ordaining the time for things. Hes the master gardener. When he wants us to grow in a certain direction - He prunes and waits for us to respond. Then prunes again. Then waits until we grow to his liking. Essentially when we are mature enough doors are opened and we are lead into new lessons, challenges and responsibilities. To use your Eskimo analogy if I was the missionary my response would be to use Fr Columba's youtube channel name with simply: "Don't blame me. I'm just the messenger. God timed it so that you ran into me today and received this lesson. You are being 'called to more' and to everyone more is given more is also required" ;)
People politically endowing themselves with God's authority on earth, and by people, I mean exclusively men. I'm Catholic, but I gotta tell ya, I have an awfully hard time with this one. Doesn't sound to me like divine planning; sounds like human planning.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you. I don't suppose you can recommend any comprehensive academic reading on the subject? I have protestant family perched on the border to mere Christianity. Their view of the Church follows the purely spiritualist view of the Church. For them, there isn't a shred of evidence in the Bible for an institutional intersection.
Have you read much of Scott Hahn’s work on the biblical basis for Catholicism? He has a lot which your family may find interesting. Trent Horn has also published some more popular rather than academic books on the subject as well.
@@ctmcatholic Good idea. Thank you. I haven't read their work on the topic. Looking at Scott Hahn's catalogue, perhaps "Reasons to Believe," "Rome Sweet Rome," and "Catholic for Reason"? And on Trent Horn's side maybe, "Why We're Catholic" and "The Case for Catholicism"?
Thank you for watching and for your question, Carolin. The Catholic Church was instituted by Christ himself. However, the members within it are human. Due to the fallen nature of mankind, there are members of the Church who commit heinous actions. However, these sins do not reflect the nature of the Church itself. I hope anyone who has suffered from such trauma is receiving the help they need to recover and that they do not turn away from the Church due to the sins of one individual.
@@ctmcatholic I do agree but sometime the theology itself can be a source of trauma for some people (its usually due to a twisted presentation of theology) what could be done in such a case (God is grey usually is a case and personally I found the theology of hell traumatising until I found out it was a state of being rather then God personal toture chamber).
I'm an orthodox, haven't watched the video yet. I know I am going to disagree with most of the stuff I'm going to hear. I'll watch the video tonight and return with an update after I've watched the video
@@ctmcatholicAlright, so, after watching the video, all I have to say is that, as you said, we all are Christians. That's what matters. We all believe in Jesus Christ and we all have turned our backs to the modern degeneration of society. We all have more or less the same morals. We all trust and love Him and follow His word. That's the thing! I think that saying that I wasn't convinced by the video, even though there's an argument to support your thesis, would be pointless. I am an orthodox, because the orthodox faith is an integral part of Greece (where I'm from) but I don't think that there is one Church. Christians have to be united, not fight each other. That's all I gotta say. God Bless! Oh, and a question. Have you ever been to Mount Athos?
So why did catholics split from the orthodox church then? Orthodox, catholic and maybe some others can be considered to have apostolic succession. To say that He can't ever be part of another church is limiting our expectations of God. I agree that it's not the same for every church though.
I'm the only Catholic in my family and it bothers me when people ask the Catholic question. I feel like my whole family is being put down and Catholics are saying my family isn't saved. I know better. catholic means universal and it doesn't apply only to Catholics. The Catholic Church is cruel to assume that only they are saved. I'm sure God doesn't approve of this attitude.
That's not right. We don't assume we're the only ones saved. ..But we are in the best position, because of the sacraments and as members of the church founded by Christ, to obtain salvation. Of course salvation can be lost by anyone, Catholic or no, though mortal sin. Modern day protestants aren't heretics and the church hopes that everyone will be saved. Protestants themselves too are genuine in what they believe.
The Franciscan priests, friars, brothers, sisters and nuns, the Dominicans et al, Benedictine order of religious, the Carmelite orders, Augustines, Jesuits and etc including the Norbertine Priests and religious. Each have an emphasis, a mark of distinction and yet are all Catholic. The diocesan priests and deacons, as well. Yet, some are teaching a narrow Christology while others teach in a way that is open for an extra wide interpretation. The Church who is open to all peoples, this is different from open to all beliefs. While the Catholic Church tries to assimilate what it can from what is true in other beliefs, it doesn't adopt those other beliefs. Rather, only agrees with what conforms to the Word of God as in the Gospels and the Bible and has been received in verified divine revelations such as the beliefs about The Immaculate Conception. I think this is why some priests paraphrase the Catechism, quote the Bible and the Saints when they speak about other beliefs that conform to the teachings of The Catholic Church rather than using phrasing that seems to come from an outside source like new age vocabulary or Buddhist philosophy. Yet, some quote Aristotle, for example, who recognized truth in philosophical terms. In short, Truth, Goodness, and Beauty are absolutes even though there are degrees of truth, goodness and beauty.
Unfortunately UA-cam were running ads on our videos anyway, now we've signed up to the partner programme we can make sure they're short and skippable - also, while the income from ads is small, it may help contribute towards the cost of producing the series. Hopefully they don't put you off!
Why would anyone need to experience God’s love “through other people”??? [6:48] “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we light live THROUGH Him. In this IS love, not that we loved God, but that HE loved us and sent HIS SON to be the propitiation for our sins.”(1 John 4:9-10) Jesus said: “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6) And after Jesus the Christ had risen from His death, He said this to His disciples prior to His ascension: ”ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18) There is “ONE God and Father of all…” (Ephesians 4:6) “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of GOD, let us hold fast the confession [of hope]…. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14,16) Therefore, we do not need an intermediary for Christ IS our intermediary - our one and only High Priest before God. Christ, whose death on the cross in our place (which death we deserve) and His resurrection from death which reconciles us to God when we believe and receive Him as our Lord and our Saviour, is all we need. [Above emphases in caps are mine.]
CCC 846 and 847 Please be careful in how you represent a possible Baptist or others. No salvation outside the Church has been misunderstood and misrepresented Just saying and still love you :)
There is only ONE True Church and that's the Church that Jesus founded on Peter. Ephesians 4:5 "There is one Lord, ONE FAITH, one baptism". There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. Jesus said it clearly. John 6:53-54 "Jesus replied to them: In all truth I tell you, IF YOU DO NOT EAT the flesh of the Son of man AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, you have NO LIFE in you. Anyone who DOES EAT my flesh AND DRINK my blood HAS ETERNAL LIFE, and I shall raise that person up on the last day." ONLY the Catholic Church has the TRUE presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. NO OTHER church in the world has TRUE salvation and offers eternal life that Jesus promised in John 6:53-54. What I don't understand is why protestants can't see this when it's written SO clearly in the Bible! The only explanation I have is that Catholics FOLLOW the Word of God and protestants CHOOSE what they want to believe in. Romans 13:1-2 14 "Everyone is to OBEY THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES, because there is no authority except from God and so whatever authorities exist HAVE BEEN APPOINTED BY GOD. So anyone who DISOBEYS AN AUTHORITY IS REBELLING AGAINST GOD'S ORDINANCE; and rebels must expect to receive the CONDEMNATION THEY DESERVE."
You are either Catholic or you are not. There is NO salvation outside the one, holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. This is an article of faith, and to contradict it would be to make an heretical statement. The heretic Modernists and "Ecumenists" pretend that salvation is possible outside the Catholic Church -- but this is false. Salvation and sanctifying grace are bestowed by God to those WITHIN the Catholic Church. Neither is there true holiness in anyone outside the one Catholic Church. Grace and holiness come from Christ, Who is the Head of the Church (which is the Mystical Body) -- through Our Lady, the Mediatrix of Graces. Those who have severed themselves from the Head CANNOT live truly holy lives or be saved, as long as they are separated from the Church. It is heresy to state otherwise. The Catechism of the Council of Trent (Article IX) states: "[The Church] is also called universal, because all who desire eternal salvation must cling to and embrace her, like those who entered the ark to escape perishing in the flood." Those outside the Mystical Ark of the Church do NOT receive the benefits of those within the Ark. God does NOT will any other "church" to exist outside the Catholic Church. There are, therefore, no degrees; you are either Catholic, or you are not. And if you are not, you do not receive the eternal benefits of those within the Church. See Pope Saint Pius X's encyclicals against Modernism.
It's called the Roman Catholic Church for a reason. Likewise there is a reason that you refer to it only as the Catholic Church when referring to the Roman Catholic Church. It's dishonest.
Brevity is usually the reason to refer to the Roman Catholic Church as the Catholic Church. The Roman (or Latin Church) is of course just one of the churches within the Catholic Church. There are 23 other Eastern Churches in communion with the Seat of Peter.
Amazing to hear! May God bless your discernment. We'll be praying.
God bless!!

Sounds like a frightening experience! But a very good metaphor. Thanks for sharing.

@@ctmcatholic It humbles me with deep gratitude to think of you praying for my family, thank you so much. May the Lord bless and keep you all always.
Awesome Father
God Bless You too. 😊
This is probably the best i´ve ever seen. God bless you.

Praying for you, Lisa. May God guide you!

But Jesus through the Holy Spirit and His Word instructed me not to call them "Father"
Do you think I could find a catholic church that follows the Word on this?
Thank you!!
have you plucked out your eye, or chopped off your hand, when it causes you to sin?
@SomeRandomGuy nope. But I'm not gonna go out of my way to commit additional sins and violate the command of Christ just because I have already sinned and fallen short of His mercy.
I don't know any catholics who have plucked out their own eyes either. Do you?
And yet do catholics not condemn protestants and other groups for heresy? Do they not judge others, and strive to avoid committing additional sins whenever possible?
Or do catholics pluck out their own eyes like you're saying?
@@xrendezv0usx so you don't listen to Jesus then, but refuse to join His Church because we call our spiritual Fathers "Father"?
@SomeRandomGuy correct. I wouldn't call a priest "Father" any more than I would call him "God". "Father" is a term reserved for our Father in Heaven. It was specially prohibited to be used as a title for church leaders by Jesus Christ.
It's not my fault the catholic church strayed away from the Word and the plainly spoken instructions of Jesus Christ on this. Don't blame me.
@@xrendezv0usx then you wouldn't call your dad your father? you do know what hyperbole is right? you're picking and choosing which of His teachings to follow
I also love the intro music Father can you tell me what it is please?
It’s licensable stock we found a few years ago. The name escapes me right now. Sorry.
Even as a Catholic, I have just a top, skim, level about the differences, but need to leave the depth of your answer to these priests.
On this Pentecost Sunday, I hope you have peace with Christ & God bless you & your family.

Like the maths question... There are many solutions towards the right answer, but there's only one absolutely right answer.

It’s helpful to remember what Hilaire Belloc once wrote:
“The Catholic Church is an institution I am bound to hold divine - but for unbelievers a proof of its divinity might be found in the fact that no merely human institution conducted with such knavish imbecility would have lasted a fortnight.”
Climate change is real and people believing in it has no bearing on wether people believe or not.
And she is a doctor of the church. Someone with an unusually clear perspective.
Glad this could help!!
Please pray for my mother Julia. I REALLY want to send here this video but she's just so blinded by dispensationalism and confused on Paul's gospel, sending her this would just end up with an argument.

Not ready to dismiss Baptists, Orthodox, Presbyterians, etc. etc. etc,,,,,,,,,as souls condemned to hell:(!
To expand, I think this article does a great job: www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/is-there-really-no-salvation-outside-the-catholic-church
Peace and blessings to you, brother.
I am wondering understanding the meaning of the Church is this complicated🤔🤔
Hi Miriam, thank you so much for watching and for your comment. What is it that you find confusing?
People politically endowing themselves with God's authority on earth, and by people, I mean exclusively men. I'm Catholic, but I gotta tell ya, I have an awfully hard time with this one. Doesn't sound to me like divine planning; sounds like human planning.
Thanks for being honest, Philip! We are broken people but God is faithful to us and His Church, praise Him.
And on Trent Horn's side maybe, "Why We're Catholic" and "The Case for Catholicism"?
what would you say to or deal with those who have trauma associated with the church or religion in general
Hope you enjoy it none the less.
We have commercials, now?☹️
Unfortunately UA-cam were running ads on our videos anyway, now we've signed up to the partner programme we can make sure they're short and skippable - also, while the income from ads is small, it may help contribute towards the cost of producing the series. Hopefully they don't put you off!
i do understand you but i feel bad with all those holy statues in chatolic churches
Don't feel bad! Catholic Answers have covered this really well: ua-cam.com/video/-K-I8RPHwTY/v-deo.html
Of course, St Francis isn't observed in Romania.
Because Catholics have Turkey Keno! :-)
Why would anyone need to experience God’s love “through other people”??? [6:48]
“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we light live THROUGH Him. In this IS love, not that we loved God, but that HE loved us and sent HIS SON to be the propitiation for our sins.”(1 John 4:9-10)
Jesus said: “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6)
And after Jesus the Christ had risen from His death, He said this to His disciples prior to His ascension:
”ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
There is “ONE God and Father of all…” (Ephesians 4:6)
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of GOD, let us hold fast the confession [of hope]…. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14,16)
Therefore, we do not need an intermediary for Christ IS our intermediary - our one and only High Priest before God.
Christ, whose death on the cross in our place (which death we deserve) and His resurrection from death which reconciles us to God when we believe and receive Him as our Lord and our Saviour, is all we need.

Anyone who DOES EAT my flesh AND DRINK my blood HAS ETERNAL LIFE, and I shall raise that person up on the last day."
ONLY the Catholic Church has the TRUE presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
THANK YOU! This is perfect! ONE true Church. Amen.
Amen! Praise the Lord! Well said. I am glad your commit has not been deleted yet.
@@Katy-Did As a Catholic it’s my duty to spread the Word of God.
@@danielfortier2629 Praise the Lord! God bless you and keep shouting the Truth!
Love catholic music, tradition, faith. Dislike salvation by works, your sellout pope and protecting predators
