Thank you for being one of the VERY FEW people actually talking about this board. I actually ordered mine before I found this video. I am relieved to see that it look like I made a good choice. The upcoming build will be this board with a Ryzen R5-1600X CPU, along with a long list of other components. Thanks again for helping confirm that this should be a good MB for my build.
This board and Ryzen look to be a great match. I will be using a GTX1060 for my build. A GTX1070 would be a great match as well. I say that if your budget allows, go with this one. I haven't built on it yet, but from what I have seen by unboxing it, the board seems solid.
@ alex rgi: I actually had my heart set on the R5-1600 (non-X). In fact, I was in the final step of ordering the 1600 when I found out that the 1600X was on sale for less than the 1600 (non-X) for a few days. I had to jump on that one. Both the 1500 and 1600 ("X" and "non X") chips are great, and will serve you well. Right now, I would say from a budget/value point, go with the non-X processors. They come with fairly decent stock coolers and can be clocked almost as high as the "X" chips, and are generally less expensive. The "X" series chips, while they do have a "higher" binning, do not come with coolers, so you have to factor the cost of a cooler in with the final cost. With 6 cores and 12 threads, the 1600 / 1600X will be a better CPU for multitasking like video rendering, live streaming while gaming, etc. The 1500 / 1500X is not a bad deal either with 4 cores and 8 threads...and it costs less. I guess it depends a lot on what you intend to do with your system. I went with the 6 core setup because I need more power for video editing/rendering and live streaming. I will most likely eventually end up on the R7 platform, but for now, I think the R5 will serve me just fine. Something else to think about: Most of the RYZEN boards (including this one) make upgrading your processor very easy. So if you have to start out with something like an R3 or R5, you can simply upgrade the CPU without changing the motherboard. Anyways, sorry this reply went long. Just wanted to share a little info with you about things I have learned about the RYZEN series. And thank you to the original poster of this video for letting me ramble on here.
@F7GOS: That is really great to hear! The case for my Ryzen build just arrived moments ago. Getting ready to do an unboxing and first impressions video. In just a few days, the rest of the parts should be here. Should be able to finally do the build this weekend. Can't wait! Thanks again.
I'm building my fist PC for gaming, and I chose this board with the Ryzen 1500x and the Asus 1060 strix GPU. I should be up and running by next weekend. Surprisingly, I can't seem to find and videos on this motherboard. So thanks for the review. I hope you do a follow up.
+F7GOS this mb or msi b350 tomahawk ? i cant find more information about that 2 mb's compared price + quality...idk what to pick ...my cpu would be r5 1600 + msi rx 580 gaming x 8gb
This review was fantastic! It helped me to finalize my motherboard selection. Thank you! As an aside: the information presented was clear and concise--the video itself was shot well and had good enough audio levels. It's an understated standout among all of the incestuous, clickbaity tech videos populating UA-cam today.
This was actually a really good review. I almost never comment on review videos like this, but your thorough description of the features and the board's place in the market really deserved praise.
I've literally just received this board for my first build. Courier let me down today on other parts I'm waiting on.....good old NE Scotland postcodes!! Hopefully get it up and running in a couple of days. Nice vid, thanks for confirming I've made a decent choice.
Working on a build right now with this mobo, a Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1070...with some other goodies...slapped into a Dark Base Pro 900. Going to be my first build. Thanks for the review mate. Definitely helped me with my decision.
Thanks for reviewing this board i couldn't find a review anywhere. I am going to be putting a Ryzen 7 1700 and a GTX-1070ti. I hope i made the right decision.
Just bought this board for my son's new build. Pairing it with a Ryzen 7 8 core, a 250GB Samsung 960 EVO NVME, 16 GB GSkill trident and a 1060 6GB Zotac viddy card. I may have it for my next build as well.
I got this board for $90 on sale from Newegg. It would have been lower if I went through with the rebate. I love it! Paired it with a R7 1700 and my RX480 which I'm looking to upgrade to RX Vega Asus Strix version when it releases early September.
Might upgrade my i5 2500 to an R5 1600 in the future, will check this one out if it's still available by then. Well made video as always. Hope you soon reach 10k subscribers.
I picked this board up on sale The most visually desired board in my collection the onboard rgb was a nice bonus Looks good in my jet black theme build with rainbow barf lighting
I’ve had some problems with this board randomly loosing video connection and randomly restarting. I got it to stop doing that once I uninstalled aura sync and the utility program. Note that the rgb on the board (where the logo is at) does not turn off when the system is shutdown. This might have just been my board but still be careful with this one.
nice video as always, I picked this board up on its release day for £99 with a free Doom Steam code from Bt shop. Its a very nice board and and paired with the ryzen 5 1600 clocked at 3.9 its a great performer. So you made a great choice.
One reason i got this was because it wasn't well reviewed. Its working well so far. have my 1700 @3.9 atm. I err also have the Gigabyte x370 gaming 5 in another pc. I prefer asus aura sync over gigabyte fusion.
+Leon Pozo nice one.. This was a gift from the missus after the birth of our daughter... Too busy changing nappies to have gotten a chance to build in it yet though 😂
i got this mb for my r5 1600 but i am waiting for gpu prices to drop a little or amazon to pull there finger out on the rx580 8gb nitro+ good vid i had the same problem it was all about the 370 no love shown to this mb but i lve the feel and the weight of this mb it feels alot more than the 118 i paid for again cool vid man keep them coming new sub right hear
BEEN on there and still nothing well nothing that is not over priced any how i think that i will wait till the prices come down a bit before and just put up with my 560 strix 4gb it does for 1080p on most things thanks tho
been on there and still over priced for now i will just do with my 570 4gb strix its good for 1080p that will do till the prices fall abit thanks tho for the reply
Im running R5 1600 @ 3.9 stock cooler + Auto Voltage, stable @ idle 45 - 48c & Load - 75 - 80c with this mobo. Have tried 4.0hz but not stable with stock cooler. Getting AIO soon so hopefully it'll be more lower when that arrives. Use for Gaming and Photo/video editing.
i want to buy AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Box.and i have nvidia geforce gtx 950 can i put them in that mother board (ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING Motherboard) or you can suggest me a good motherbord ?
I have seen the board here in norway for sale but i chose an MSI x370 SLI instead, it was an open box for the same prise as the asus b350 strix F Gaming. And i wanted usb 3.1 and usb 3.1 type C ports and legasy PS/2 port.
F7GOS thanks for the reply mate.... will you please help me with my build.... I am a graphic designer and casual gaming so should I go with 1400,1500x or 1600... and is 8gb enough or is the new 16gb is the 8gb nowadays..... I have everything just need a CPU, Ram and mobo.... may be a ssd too
+Gaurav Singh Mahar I still use 8GB for playing games but when it comes to CAD or design packages then 16GB is a good bet and what I have in my Engineering Laptop. Really depends on the size of the models and files you want to manipulate though. I used to design stuff on a GTX 8800 and 2gb ram a decade ago and though that was fast 😂
Hey man; thanks for the vid; i'm likely getting this board very soon with a ryzen 5 1500x. I really get confused with the details of the memory. I want two 8gb sticks but, looking at the QVL, there are very few choices for a 2x8 paired deal. I also need help figuring out what speed to get. 2400? 2800? any input would be nice. Thanks
+Kevin S. Basically as fast as you can get 😂 the corsair 2 x 8Gb i had were Vengence LPX 3200 and they run at the rated speed despite not being on the QVL at the time. ASUS seem very good at updating their boards over time and even with my now unconventional 4 + 8 + 4 + 8 combo it still runs at 2933MHz with the click of a button and im sure it would be back upto 3200 if i tweaked it manually
hmm, cause i heard the these boards were qvl dependent. maybe that vengeance is on the list by now. I just looked at these that actually are on the qvl and found these under the 3200 speed column: www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233976&cm_re=Desktop_Memory_Model_CMK16GX4M2B3600C18-_-20-233-976-_-Product but what the hay? newegg as well as corsair state; "Designed for High-Performance Overclocking on Intel X99 Motherboards" What? Also, i really hate paying 250 so i may look elsewhere anyway. Thanks for the input
i have asus b350 f gaming mb like urs , but i want to ask u about something , i have a green led beside the ram slots , it is always on when i use the windows , is that ok or it indicates something wrong ? also i wish u explain to me the LEDs color what means and also what they means when they are flashing and constant ?
This board has done me well for what I’m doing. I have no bad things to say about it really. Asus boards haven’t really disappointed me in recent years.
The only thing that annoyed me was that when I put the gpu in the first slot, you cant see the led strip... I had to move it down to the second x16 slit
question should i get this board cause im getting the g skill rgb ram and getting the ryzen 5. n i know its still buggy and can mess up my cpu downloading the beta for the ram so will this mobo help with that controller ram color or can i get the b350 msi pc mate still put in the gskill ram and just wait until things get fixed for the ram and ryzen cpu before i change the colors around for the ram
Maybe not that important, it also has the latest Realtek audio chip, 1220A. I wanted to go for the Asus Prime, but after seeing this one i changed my mind. :D
Hey man; noob here again. For the price and performance, and i'm not doing any serious OC'G, i'm thinking the 2666 corsair or the 3000mhz. Both are on the QVL and only 15bucks difference. The cas latency on the 3000 is 15 and it's 16 on the other(lower is better, right?) I'm guessing you'll say go for the 3000, yeah?
+Kevin S. Ill be honest i went for the faster because when i bought ddr4 it was pretty cheap. 3000mhz is often seen as the sweet spot, but the difference with 2666 is not exactly what you would call ground breaking from what ive read. In all honesty it might serve you better if you could get a larger hdd or another fan for that $15.
Agreed; thanks for the input. I think, along with the strix mb, i'll get the rysen 5 1600(comes with cooler) and then 2x8gb corsair vengeance 2666. I'm ready to retire my old phenom2 :) Keep up the nice work here.
Does this have two pcie slots? I noticed that the rgb area would get covered by a graphics card and wanted to know if i could put the graphics card lower down so the rgb can show :)
+Raj Patel the top slot does cover the rgb area but it's a pretty strong glow and even with the top slot populated you can still see the RGB glow behind it, I've a build video coming up soon using the board so I'll try get some b -roll to show that.
Yeap, i have the same build, paired with the Asus motherboard, just make sure you optimize the RAM once you've installed the OS, they run at the native frequency out of the box (2133mhz) and the XMP should take care of overclocking that (3200mhz for example)
well guys I just ordered my ryzen 5 1600x, I hope I made the right choice. Any suggestions for a graphics card? I'm thinking rx 580 8gb. or maybe 1060 6gb.
+Bring me Peter pan I loved my rx 480 but getting one at a good price today is impossible. 1060 is nice but if you don't mind buying used a 980ti offers 1070 performance for less money than a lot of 1060s
Is this new on board audio better than an Xonar DGX? I used Supremefx audio before on an Asus RoG Maximus 4 or 5 formula and didn't really notice much of a difference between it and even a bottom of the barrel Xfi extreme audio card that isn't even a real Xfi chip. It was better than most on board audio but so was the cheap Xfi. Then again these assholes haven't updated drivers in years so maybe i'm better off getting newer on board audio. But I've noticed Realtek don't update their drivers as much as they use to either these days. Unless you've bought the newest and greatest.
I’ll be throwing this in my $2.2k aud rig Could I get your opinion (I had aesthetics over performance in mind or a balance I guess) Ryzen 7 1700x 8core 3.4ghz Motherboard in this video 2x 8gb G.Skill 3000mhz trident z rgb ram 128gb intel 600p ssd 1tb WD 3.5” 7200rpm 6gb/s blue hdd Asus gtx 1070 8gb Thermaltake atx versa c21 rgb case 700watt thermaltake rgb power supply (the case has an open psu slot so the rgb will show) I havn’t bought the parts yet, would you suggest any replacements? (I am in australia btw)
Get at least a 250GB SSD, especially if you have a higher budget. After installing Windows and etc., you get very little space of 128GB SSD and 250GB ones give you 2.5 times more space than 128GB ones, after configuring it and etc.
does anyone know what the leds mean? for example the orange led that comes on on the bottom right of the board, as well as the other led that lights up white, green, and red its by the ram slots, ive been researching but I cant find anything on google that says what these led colors mean.
+PureDarky should be better as it has a better audio chipset, I don't use a surround setup though and tbh I haven't noticed a huge difference between the prime matx and the B350f yet
+Feral Reason depends on how good the 1700 buy is, on the smaller PrimeB350 board I had the 1700 up to 3.9 and the ram at 2933, but that was before the latest updates. I'd expect this board to get more.
I have a question I bought the same mainboard mentioned in this video, and I got 2 Rams ddr4 4gb hyperx 3200hz, why I installed these rams on this board the frequency of the rams read 2400hz not 3200, could I know why??? Another question Wasn't suppose to install the rams (Ram/socket free/Ram/socket free) to get dual channel? On this board I had to install (socket free /socket free/Ram/Ram) so the board at last read it 8gb... Why is that?? Pla answer my 2 questions above thanks
Oficially, DDR4 speed is 2400mhz. Anything above is overclocking. 3200Mhz ram is just the manufacturer saying this kit is rated upto 3200mhz.but you still have to set it up to that speed. Otherwise it will just run stock ddr4 2400 speeds
Thanks alot man, didn't know to reach 3200mhz I suppose to overlook the ram thought it will be 3200 immediately . And ya I ll try free Ram free Ram and see what will hap
Mustafa Iraq I would like to ask does strix b350f have the 5x protection i.e. the full ESD protection like the prime b350 has? I was thinking of buying strix because of the Intel Lan chipset.
Literally am switching from an ASUS PRIME B350M-A mATX to what I just bought which is an ROG B350-F Gaming Motherboard... haha amazing that I just found this review less than 10 hours after I ordered my strix B350. I cannot hit 4ghz with my ryzen 1700 though! Maybe you could help me? I can only hit 3.975ghz and I have tried (being stable at 3.975ghz 1.37v extreme load line calibration) increasing the offset by one or two notches, then trying some cinebench runs, and it crashes. I increase voltage another notch or two, laod in, run cinebench, and it will crash. Am I that unlucky, I could've swore that at that launch event for Ryzen 7 she said every ryzen 7 can hit 4ghz and "we are excited to see what overclockers can do to take it further" I mean, I guess I could be wrong, but that exact line sticks out to me in my head. I figured power delivery might be cleaner on the new b350-f strix board because it was made and released well after the launch, where as the b350m-a PRIMW mATX was released at launch, and I got mine 1 week after ryzen launched. idk, once again, I could be wrong, and the strix will be no better than the b350m-a, but I hope it is. Great video BTW!
+nocomply you might be able to hot 4Ghz on specific cores but there's no guarantee that all 8 cores will be able to hit 4.0 unfortunately. It helped for me getting a stable 4.0 @ 1.37v but it's really just the luck of the draw. To be honest at the moment my 1700 is generally locked to around 3.8ghz anyway and I can't say there's a huge difference in real world usage between that and 4ghz Are you using an aio at all?
+F7GOS Yeah I use a 240mm AiO that is basically new, I have been using it for almost two months, its the captain 240 EX White Edition from DeepCool, its like the version 2 of the original captain 240, but this one has braided tubes. My temps are amazing, while gaming I never go above 45c and during long encoding sessions like when finishing a video for upload my temps never exceed 58ish. I rarely see 60c ever on the cpu. I was hoping the power delivery would be better, but according to a few different people, including Science Studio, all b350 chipsets will have the same power delivery. Makes me wonder if maybe a difference in the quality of how the components were made could make a difference. I just feel like hitting a hard wall at 3.975ghz after getting to said 3.975ghz was so easy doesn't make sense, I suppose I will know in a few days when my new board arrives. I'll be creating a video on it, comparing it's overclocking ability to the ASUS PRIME B350 as you are very correct, there are just not many reviews on, to be honest, both of these boards. ALSO, thank you so much for the quick response.
before I got my Aio I could hit 3.8ghz on all cores but stress test would get toast as voltages were at around 1.34ish (offsets, so I am not 100% accurate) and even with the stock fan at its silent operation speed of 100% temps would hit 70 quickly during a stress test. so till I got my AIO I kept it at 3.75ghz @1.32v
+Tech Helper got on great video should be coming soon with a new build. It's very easy to work with and I'm really appreciating the extra functionality
+JvG so far it's good a few bios revisions ago I got it upto 2933 and it's sat there since. Never really been bothered to check how the newer revisions hold up. I'll see if I can push it further this weekend maybe
+Clare Bostock 1300x has slightly higher clocks out of the box that's it. Both overclock to the same levels which you can do in about 30 seconds with any b350 motherboard. The 1200 I have here got to 3.8ghz on the stock cooler which is faster than the 1300x
+Quillan Reyes worth noting that I could only get upto 2933 with the latest bios.. On the bios that came with the board I defaulted to 2133 and could push it to 2400. So once you post at 2133 be sure and update to the latest bios

Nice Video i have 3 question aprreciate anyone could help me 1. i've msi gtx 1070 duke (it's long n big w/ 3 fans),and i plan to put it on the pcie socket 2 (middle one),my question is there any problem or performance? The reason i want it to put on the pcie socket 2 is so i can clearly the led (blink2) from the heatsink 2. is this board support ram Team - TDGED416G3000HC16CDC01 (3000 model), coz i've checked on asus supported list memory this model is not on list...but when i search Team - TDGED416G2400HC14DC01 (2400 model) there's on the list? And i've checked also on pcpartpicker both of this model ram (2400) and (3000) is supported for ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING 3. Is psu corsair cxm 550w good enough (maybe later on will do oc daily, not hardcore),my rig would like this: CPU : AMD Ryzen R5 1600 MOBO : ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING RAM : TEAM - TDGED416G3000HC16CDC01 PSU : Corsair CXM Series 550W Modular - Bronze SSD : Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB HDD : WDC 1TB SATA3 64MB - Black WDC 3TB SATA3 64MB - Blue MOUSE : Logitech G102 Prodigy Gaming Mouse KEYBORAD : SteelSeries Apex 100 DVD ROM : LG DVDRW 24X SATA FANS : 5x Fan Fractal Silent Series 14CM R2 Thanks and sorry for my bad english
OK Thanks for the quick respond! I guess its time to search for a WiFi card. Its quite annoying when this board is so cheap in other country's and it cost 220 NZD here.
+Kai Trautvetter it sounds like the NZD market is overpriced. There should be other boards that are cheaper locally though. Hardware Unboxed did a nice comparison a few weeks back
It's quite hard to find a good deal mother board here in NZ due to the NZD dropping in value... stupid 1050 ti cost $275 NZD. Oh well I got my hands on this motherboard and I am happy with it!
Just wondering the same thing as I am looking at doing my first build . How did you get around the no wifi . As my net Jack is in my kitchen and can't hook up without WiFi easy
+Austin Miller pretty much, I've a quick look video coming out next week on my experience with a WiFi card and a USB dongle which will help explain the differences
Finally someone did a review on this board :D I just bought it after watching your review :) so thank you for that. pcpartpicker.com/user/ang3r/saved/gMWbjX this is the build its going in, let me know what you think?
Agreed! There is almost nothing anywhere on this board. I found this video AFTER I ordered mine. Looks like I made a good choice....although you finding it for 85$ makes me almost feel like I paid too much, LOL. We shall see once it gets here next week.
I noticed the "mail in rebate" line after I wrote that comment. I got lucky with mine. It was 120$ when I was doing comparisons. I thought 120 was a fair price for it, but when I came back to it later that day it was down to 105. Had to give it a go for that price. Only problem I have with NewEgg is their shipping is dead slow. Paid for 2 day shipping, and am still waiting after three days. Oh well, no biggie. Got to gather up the rest of the parts anyway.
How about something smaller? Asrock Fatal1ty ITX - ua-cam.com/video/Uca51deMo78/v-deo.html
Thank you for being one of the VERY FEW people actually talking about this board. I actually ordered mine before I found this video. I am relieved to see that it look like I made a good choice.

Really liked the way you filmed this one, good job 🙂
Nice video, best unboxing of the B350-F I've seen so far.
Thanks for reviewing this board i couldn't find a review anywhere. I am going to be putting a Ryzen 7 1700 and a GTX-1070ti. I hope i made the right decision.

thanks for the review, all i could find was reviews for the 370 version and i was looking for a cheap strix board to match my 1070
I picked this board up on sale

the onboard rgb was a nice bonus
Looks good in my jet black theme build with rainbow barf lighting
I'm always excited for your videos
You really deserve more subs.
Looks like a great B350 board, I want one!!
Waiting for it to arrive! Going for this with a Ryzen 7 1800x - can't wait!
Great board, just got my son one and he loves it!
I am so going to use this board for my next upgrade.
attempting my first PC build with this board. Ryzen 7 1700 with either an RX580/590 or a GTX 1070. Nervous but excited at the same time.
Thanks mate! I'm getting this board in a few days! cheers.
Correction: Audio chip is not 1150, its 1220
One reason i got this was because it wasn't well reviewed.
Congrats bud. On both the baby and mobo :) Got my kids this week for summer hols. All gaming hehe.
i got this mb for my r5 1600 but i am waiting for gpu prices to drop a little or amazon to pull there finger out on the rx580 8gb nitro+ good vid i had the same problem it was all about the 370
no love shown to this mb but i lve the feel and the weight of this mb it feels alot more than the 118 i paid for again cool vid man keep them coming new sub right hear
check out a website called: Newegg. It's fairly cheap
I was looking at this mobo but now I'll go for it with a ryzen 1600x and go full AMD with my old r9 fury, cheers
Barnabas Barta 1600 and a better cooler beats 1600x, buy either 1600 or 1700, 1600x isn't worth it.
Spoomels :D 1600x has better crystal = less voltage = less heat and more stable overall. Its almost the same 1800x, but with 2 cores off.
Same build im doing a custom loop on a r9 fury nitro since i found a waterblock for it and some 360 radiators
I'll use 1600x with H60 Corsair cooler & probably this Motherboard
same here except im going with a 1060
At last a review on this mobo. I have this one.
So close to buying this mobo *Newegg discount for 86 and change with mail in rebate* just fact checking things *subbed* great video!
+M4TT XB it's been great for me so far!
I've just put in an order for this board as well to pair with a 1600x and later 16 or 32gb of DDR4 3200
There is a combo deal on Newegg that has this MOBO, an R5 1600 and 16GB of GSkill Trident Z RGB ram!
Alex Swiatkiwsky im so damn late
i want to buy AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Box.and i have nvidia geforce gtx 950 can i put them in that mother board (ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING Motherboard) or you can suggest me a good motherbord ?
I have seen the board here in norway for sale but i chose an MSI x370 SLI instead, it was an open box for the same prise as the asus b350 strix F Gaming. And i wanted usb 3.1 and usb 3.1 type C ports and legasy PS/2 port.
The same mobo + R5 1600
+nandagopal gopakumar nice combination!
F7GOS this or MSI tomahawk.... please reply.... I m going to buy 1600 or may be 1500x... depending on budget
+Gaurav Singh Mahar I'd go with the STRIX
I just looked at these that actually are on the qvl and found these under the 3200 speed column:
www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233976&cm_re=Desktop_Memory_Model_CMK16GX4M2B3600C18-_-20-233-976-_-Product
but what the hay? newegg as well as corsair state; "Designed for High-Performance Overclocking on Intel X99 Motherboards" What?
Also, i really hate paying 250 so i may look elsewhere anyway. Thanks for the input
NIce! I might update to that board get away from the prime plus board and hand that to a family member. :)
+Mark Davenport Jr it's well worth it. A great b350 board
is this a good upgrade - Asus strix b350-F Gaming mothergoodboard, Amd ryzen-3 1300x, 8gb ddr4 corsair vengeance Lpx Ram.
will buy tomorrow
+Eternal Slayer go with the 1200 and overclock it. I've had a 1200 in over the weekend and you can OC it past 1300X speeds on the included cooler
Can you please read to me what the cablemod discount says? Im buying this mobo and want to know if I need to buy the cables now or after
BF50 F Vs G1 Sniper B8 Which should i buy?
ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F + ryzen 7 1700 ?
Ik its late but I'm using this combo
This or the B350 Gaming Pro Carbon ? Cant find a difference
i have asus b350 f gaming mb like urs , but i want to ask u about something , i have a green led beside the ram slots , it is always on when i use the windows , is that ok or it indicates something wrong ? also i wish u explain to me the LEDs color what means and also what they means when they are flashing and constant ?
I’m new to building pc’s and I got this board does any four work with it
This board has done me well for what I’m doing. I have no bad things to say about it really. Asus boards haven’t really disappointed me in recent years.
They are solid boards for sure, a tad more expensive than comparable boards from the competition, but still great
True I got mine on a Newegg deal so it was cheaper than normal.
I have a question: It says the mobo has 2 RGB headers, I can only see one at the bottom, where is the other one?
Great vid. Thanks.
+handquake your welcome cheers
What handquake said. :)
F7GOS can i use 6 fans inside my casing with this mobo?
Thanks so much, so helpful
Working with ryzen3? or i need to update bios? Sorry for my english i m Romanian.
+Alexandru Dediu should work out the box 👍
Does this have two pcie slots? I noticed that the rgb area would get covered by a graphics card and wanted to know if i could put the graphics card lower down so the rgb can show :)
+Raj Patel the top slot does cover the rgb area but it's a pretty strong glow and even with the top slot populated you can still see the RGB glow behind it, I've a build video coming up soon using the board so I'll try get some b -roll to show that.
The same motherboard + Ryzen 5 2600+GTX 1060 6gb?
Can this overclock?
I am planning to have a Ryzen 1600X with this motherboard and a gtx 1060, will it work?
Bring me Peter pan use rx580 8gb
Wait what? 'a 980ti offers 1070 performance for less money than a lot of 1060s'? Were you drunk when you wrote that? :D Cause it's pure bs.
Im still waiting for higher end m-atx and m-itx am4 boards but if that doesnt happen then i guess il have to buy this board... sigh
Pc ColdWar yeah it seems quite good, however its not out here in europe yet but its definetely a solid choice
I bought this board with a ryzen 5 2600 so far the board seems descent enough.
PLease mention a specific ram from QVL
I am hard time on the QVL list. Preffered brand is corsair, gskill, kingston
IM using corsair vengance
@@F7GOS specify the model please
After a lot of research i have ended up selecting a corsair vengeance as well but please specify the model
Doesnt windows 10 require la d drivers upon first installing it? They are on the dvd. Or how would one install new drivers i. The first place.?
USB Flash Drive, i have windows 10 on there
I got Forza Horizon 3 with this motherboard, sold it for 33£. That's 77£ for this awesome motherboard.
+Sonofabyss that's a good deal!
May I ask where you bought the mobo?
www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/AMD+Socket/Socket+AM4+-+AMD+B350/ASUS+ROG+STRIX+B350-F+GAMING+-+AMD+Ryzen+Motherboard+-+FREE+GAME%21+?productId=67582
Did you get random game,or you can choose it?
It was advertised with Forza Horizon 3.
I’ll be throwing this in my $2.2k aud rig
Could I get your opinion (I had aesthetics over performance in mind or a balance I guess)
Ryzen 7 1700x 8core 3.4ghz
Motherboard in this video
2x 8gb G.Skill 3000mhz trident z rgb ram
128gb intel 600p ssd
1tb WD 3.5” 7200rpm 6gb/s blue hdd
Asus gtx 1070 8gb
Thermaltake atx versa c21 rgb case
700watt thermaltake rgb power supply (the case has an open psu slot so the rgb will show)
I havn’t bought the parts yet, would you suggest any replacements? (I am in australia btw)
3200mhz c14?
Im Uglyy ..If u slready buil the system, how is the ram working with it?
Get at least a 250GB SSD, especially if you have a higher budget. After installing Windows and etc., you get very little space of 128GB SSD and 250GB ones give you 2.5 times more space than 128GB ones, after configuring it and etc.
does anyone know what the leds mean? for example the orange led that comes on on the bottom right of the board, as well as the other led that lights up white, green, and red its by the ram slots, ive been researching but I cant find anything on google that says what these led colors mean.
can i put a 970 evo m.2 ssd in here without buying any adapters and stuff? and will it all work?
Yeah, the motherboard supports m.2 drives
This board should work just fine with Trident Z rgb 16gb 3200mhz (F4-3200C14D-16GTZR) not listed in the QVL but it is samsung B die and single rank
vs gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 who win?
Is the audio quality as good as the prime plus?
+PureDarky should be better as it has a better audio chipset, I don't use a surround setup though and tbh I haven't noticed a huge difference between the prime matx and the B350f yet
Can you overclock Ryzen 1700 to 3.8GHz, and RAM to 3200MHz(4*8GB) with this board?
+Feral Reason depends on how good the 1700 buy is, on the smaller PrimeB350 board I had the 1700 up to 3.9 and the ram at 2933, but that was before the latest updates. I'd expect this board to get more.
! Requires BIOS update if you want to use Ryzen 2000 series !
I have a question
I bought the same mainboard mentioned in this video, and I got 2 Rams ddr4 4gb hyperx 3200hz, why I installed these rams on this board the frequency of the rams read 2400hz not 3200, could I know why???
Another question
Wasn't suppose to install the rams (Ram/socket free/Ram/socket free) to get dual channel? On this board I had to install (socket free /socket free/Ram/Ram) so the board at last read it 8gb... Why is that??
Pla answer my 2 questions above thanks
Oficially, DDR4 speed is 2400mhz. Anything above is overclocking. 3200Mhz ram is just the manufacturer saying this kit is rated upto 3200mhz.but you still have to set it up to that speed. Otherwise it will just run stock ddr4 2400 speeds
Regarding the other question, try free / ram / free / ram
Thanks alot man, didn't know to reach 3200mhz I suppose to overlook the ram thought it will be 3200 immediately . And ya I ll try free Ram free Ram and see what will hap
Mustafa Iraq I would like to ask does strix b350f have the 5x protection i.e. the full ESD protection like the prime b350 has? I was thinking of buying strix because of the Intel Lan chipset.
Zuriel keta I don't think it has this feature also I searched on the net and didn't find this feature available on it
will this work with a R7 1800x???
Does anyone know if this board does Crossfire through the CPU or Chipset?
To be honest at the moment my 1700 is generally locked to around 3.8ghz anyway and I can't say there's a huge difference in real world usage between that and 4ghz
Are you using an aio at all?
ALSO, thank you so much for the quick response.
before I got my Aio I could hit 3.8ghz on all cores but stress test would get toast as voltages were at around 1.34ish (offsets, so I am not 100% accurate) and even with the stock fan at its silent operation speed of 100% temps would hit 70 quickly during a stress test. so till I got my AIO I kept it at 3.75ghz @1.32v
how did you get on with
this board?
+Tech Helper got on great video should be coming soon with a new build. It's very easy to work with and I'm really appreciating the extra functionality
They need to make this board in itx or matx
this motherboard can reach the 3200 mhz stables and natives¿?
Juan Meza (LATE) With samsung-B die single rank, it should have no issue. I have heard good thing about it with trident Z rgb ram
How's ram overclocking?
+JvG so far it's good a few bios revisions ago I got it upto 2933 and it's sat there since. Never really been bothered to check how the newer revisions hold up. I'll see if I can push it further this weekend maybe
thinking bout going overclockers in morning and getting this was thinking putting r3 1300x or r5
+Clare Bostock if your going R3 then 1200 is the one to go for. The 1300X really won't clock any higher.
whats difference between the 2
+Clare Bostock 1300x has slightly higher clocks out of the box that's it. Both overclock to the same levels which you can do in about 30 seconds with any b350 motherboard.
The 1200 I have here got to 3.8ghz on the stock cooler which is faster than the 1300x
what if i overclock 1300x will that then be faster lol
+Clare Bostock unfortunately not,😅 the ryzen cpus be it the R3 1200 or the R7 1800X all tend to max out around 4.0 ghz give or take a few mhz.
Hey got this mobo just wondering what ram you're using cause I'm having trouble getting the right one. I bought two that gave me no post
+Quillan Reyes I'm using a corsair vengeance 3000mhz kit. Currently sitting at 2933Mhz
+Quillan Reyes worth noting that I could only get upto 2933 with the latest bios.. On the bios that came with the board I defaulted to 2133 and could push it to 2400. So once you post at 2133 be sure and update to the latest bios

Does this motherboard come with onboard WiFi? Sorry for my noob ness
+Bob the Bomb afraid not, I've got a Asus PCE-AC68 wireless card in there at the moment and to be honest it's almost as fast as wired.
F7GOS i know right, it's incredibly fast once you pair it with the PCI-E Slot
Just built my computer with this, BIOS aren't even loading... double checked everything. Sitting here scratching my head wondering wtf to do now...
recheck all your cables
It was a loose PSU cable :) Motherboard works great
+Landon Prewitt always a pest when somethings loose!
Is this motherboard works on ddr3 ram?
+Mohammad Huzaifa no AM4 is DDR4 only
Can I use core i7 7700 with this motherboard?
+mohammed jamal no its am4 for the ryzen cpus. There is an Intel version the b250f I think. But B350 is a ryzen chipset
it will support the new ryzens?
+adreas berghs it will yes. But its inevitable that there will be a ROG B450 board too which will add to the feature set
But it will be expensive right;
It will likely cost more than the B350 but wont be crazy expensive.
Do u think its worth to buy now the B350 for 110;
Can you use this mobo with a r3 2200g
If the bios has been updated, yes.
Nice Video i have 3 question aprreciate anyone could help me
1. i've msi gtx 1070 duke (it's long n big w/ 3 fans),and i plan to put it on the pcie socket 2 (middle one),my question is there any problem or performance? The reason i want it to put on the pcie socket 2 is so i can clearly the led (blink2) from the heatsink
2. is this board support ram Team - TDGED416G3000HC16CDC01 (3000 model), coz i've checked on asus supported list memory this model is not on list...but when i search Team - TDGED416G2400HC14DC01 (2400 model) there's on the list? And i've checked also on pcpartpicker both of this model ram (2400) and (3000) is supported for ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING
3. Is psu corsair cxm 550w good enough (maybe later on will do oc daily, not hardcore),my rig would like this:
CPU : AMD Ryzen R5 1600
MOBO : ASUS STRIX ROG B350-F GAMING
RAM : TEAM - TDGED416G3000HC16CDC01
PSU : Corsair CXM Series 550W Modular - Bronze

MOUSE : Logitech G102 Prodigy Gaming Mouse
KEYBORAD : SteelSeries Apex 100
DVD ROM : LG DVDRW 24X SATA
FANS : 5x Fan Fractal Silent Series 14CM R2
Thanks and sorry for my bad english
Does this mobo come with built in wifi?
+Kai Trautvetter no wifi i use a asus pce68
New to PC stuff, can I connect to my wifi with this mobo?
+Austin Miller unfortunately not, I'm using a pcie WiFi card. If your in a pinch, a cheap WiFi dongle works too
Oh, so I just plug that into the motherboard and I'm good to go?
+Austin Miller pretty much, I've a quick look video coming out next week on my experience with a WiFi card and a USB dongle which will help explain the differences
Great thanks
+Austin Miller no problem happy to help where I can 👍
Can wirh Ryzen 7 1700 fine?
+Ivan Stevanovic yeah that's what I'm using with it now
no sound?
can this fit the nzxt h440 case
+tatum totarini yeah the h440 supports full ATX boards 👍
ah right, cool
Finally someone did a review on this board :D I just bought it after watching your review :) so thank you for that. pcpartpicker.com/user/ang3r/saved/gMWbjX this is the build its going in, let me know what you think?
Agreed! There is almost nothing anywhere on this board. I found this video AFTER I ordered mine. Looks like I made a good choice....although you finding it for 85$ makes me almost feel like I paid too much, LOL. We shall see once it gets here next week.
NJP Vlogs -N- Stuff I wish it was $85 when I got it! I paid like $115 total :(
I noticed the "mail in rebate" line after I wrote that comment.
NJP Vlogs -N- Stuff I live pretty close to newegg so I got it supper quick
Inzanexx715 I haven't had the chance to hook everything up yet. Been waiting for all of the parts to come in. I'm starting the build tomorrow :D
does this mobo have wifi
No, i use the asus pce68 pci wifi card
Is my i5 3470S work on this mother board?
+Mohammad Huzaifa this is for AMD processors that use the AM4 socket. Your cpu is an intel socket 1150
ive got that one woot woot
