Sonic Frontiers: Adventure Edition

This video showcases Sonic Adventure levels ported into Sonic Frontiers. If you're wondering why I'm suddenly covering Sonic Frontiers, it's because the modding community finally started porting levels, as well as creating new levels and honestly I got tired of the open zone and just want to play traditional point A to B Sonic levels, since the wow factor for the open zone has worn out for me (that and once you do everything on the map, there is very little incentive to replay the open zones)
And... while the physics are still jank (arguably even jankier than Sonic Adventure's physics on a bad day), it's still the fun kind of jank... but game balance was not a priority to Sonic Team when they made Frontiers.... especially after Update 1...

If it's one thing I am forever grateful to Sonic Frontiers, it's the free camera in regular levels.

Luckily the Final Horizon Levels allow it which is yet another sign of progress from that DLC.

You know, this is a nice refresher on how kind of absurdly large even some of the first 3D Sonic stages needed to be to accommodate how much space Sonic needs to be able to travel to have get the sense of speed they were going for at the time and kind of since then.

2024: The year of the adventure. Like there have been a lot of mods to put sa1 stages in games. I do like it. But I also feel old seeing it in Frontiers and Bomb rush.

Also, I totally feel you on the old part. Sadly, I don't have as much nostalgia attached to the Adventure games as I have never grew up with them (Eastern Europe post communism, lack of consoles and support until the mid 2000s and only reserved to the wealthy and all that...), but I can see why a lot of Sonic fans are nostalgic for the Adventure era games. They scream new millennium and who knows, maybe this aesthetic might come back into the mainstream like vaporwave.

disagree on that description, i personally return to the open zone just to use it as a playground, but that's just me, you didn't like frontiers so naturally our opinions will just vary on the aspects

I did enjoy Frontiers on initial playthrough tho... I just don't find as much as incentive to play around anymore in the open zone, unless I have to make videos I suppose.
Though I will say, Update 3 did reinvigorate my time exploring the revamped Ouranos Island and I did enjoy the Tower climbs... and then they give Tails The Tornado...
