Excellent review, and nice to see another beautiful case from Corsair! As for the poll, my first priority is low noise, however it is entirely possible to have both low noise and good air flow. Perfect example of this is my current setup. Corsair Carbide Air 540 case modified to fit seven 140mm fans all running at an inaudible 500rpm, silent fanless PSU, and passive fanless CPU cooler. Plenty of air flow, and completely inaudible in most situations unless I'm running something fairly CPU intensive.
Thank you for such an EXCELLENT review enabling me to make the decision to buy. What a great eye for detail you have such as including a ruler setting showing the room you have from the top 280 cooler to the MB, love that detail ! Seems about 67-70 mm of room there and Im going for a 280mm cooler. I really like how you do this review and how you focus on stuff like that. I've built many systems and you are hereby Followed ! So we could always have loved a MESH front but other reviewers didn't bother to mention you CAN..OPEN the DOOR...when you need that extra cooling...
Thanks so much for the feedback. Glad you found the video so useful as that's the whole aim! All the best with the new build, it's always fun building a new rig
@@Vortez I have built 650 systems about, am 58 and into Flight Simulators (X plane 11.5Beta with Vulcan now - its amazing - and soon FS 2020 !!) . I have always applied the simple thermodynamic principle: Heat Rises.... So my Carbide will have that door OPEN when I want to seriously overclock - OR I will find some way of modding the front door and perforate it..LOL I even think you have some mod videos, I'll be sifting through your videos for more knowledge :D
I ordered my new PC from Origin. Their Millennium chassis that I had selected ended up being out of stock so I ended up picking this case not knowing much about it. I'm actually really glad I did. It looks great, keeps the rig cool and the sound dampening is really good. Not to mention the dust trays being on the front of the case is really convenient
I sort of feel the buttons and the USB ports are on the wrong side of the top. They should have been on the front top lip for those of us that place our PCs under our desks. Now you have to reach deeper to plug in your cables
Well.. the front fans are blockt for intake, this is realy not a case for overclocking du a lack of airflow. But if you use liqued cooling for the CPU and GPU it wil do the job but more expensive. I wonder when you put a 240mm or 280mm radiator at the front and stil get enough airflow trough the radiator because the front panel is blocking for good fresh air intake so i doubt it to buy this one, still ones a Corsair Obsidian 750D whit liquid cooling and is silence. For the looks the the 678c look nice and more for stock builds whit liquid cooling and for people that want nice modern silence system that fits in the rest of the room or mancave, also the USB connectors are not in a great spot on this case, if it stands on your desk you have to rise to put a USB connector in, USB in the front of the case would in my opnion better. Would i buy this case ? no to expensive for what you get and lack of airflow at the front intake and even whit a 240mm or 280mm radiator in the front air intake is blocked and that conna make noise when fans ramp up.
I am thinking of buying it. My idea to mount it is to go up to the front corsair fan on top, and at the top put a coolermaster 360mm radiator with 3 120mm fans. what do you think? Im buying for 120€ btw
Too little front panel airflow further restricted by the internal cages, restricted front airflow means noise and heat. Top fans with no sound control means noise. Removing more than 2 internal cages leaves the holes through to rear. Plastic front panel at that price is no good. Over priced and not so silent.

Should've check the Define 7. Heck even the R6 is way ahead of the 678C for way even better price. Unless of course you care about the logo.
@@susanolx Why do you think its better ?

Great review, looking forward to using this case!
Amazing review, very high quality video and lots of good points.
Thanks a lot :)
Love the review. I have one coming. Hearing someone say "mobo" is like hearing someone say "jiff" for GIF... :)
very nice case, thanks for the review.
too bad the 5.25 bay doesn't comes with a panel to adjust the rgb colors.
Nice video and great review of the case. I personally would have went with the white case myself.
678C not 67c get it right
What is the airflow like with the sound insulating pads in place?
Cool, thank you. An other review said exact the contrary 🤔 ... 👍👋🇨🇭
i can't even imagine how much a pcie x4 riser should cost
Can't find this case I need one :(

You can just open the door when gaming for more air flow

wait, does the odd plug on sata ? i think i miscalculated number of ports needed :/
Can you put dvd in this case?
Yes I have a DVD in the front bay
What is the point of Fan Filter on TOP when you are pushing the AIR out from top ?. To Filter the exhausted Air?
Keeps dust out of the case when not being used
