    Great video. Beautiful waterway. Headed to Destin for three weeks otherwise I would like to try that float but 12 miles might get the best of my wife and I. :-)

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  Рік тому +1

      Yeah 12 miles definitely tested our limits, but you can always just start at the headspring. We hope you have a great time in Destin!

    We found out about Weeki Wachee a few years ago. We’ve been five times, stay at the same Airbnb which is on a canal that connects to the river. It comes with kayaks so we get to circumnavigate the park hours, and don’t have to pay for parking or boat rentals. It cost a little more than a hotel, but worth it for us a family of five. Great video!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  6 місяців тому +1

      Your Airbnb situation sounds awesome. Every time we visit we talk about how fun it would be to stay on the water. Sounds like your host has a great location. Thanks so much for watching!

    This place looks amazing! I prefer inflatable paddle boards over kayak any day 👍 so much easier to maneuver. I use mine as a kayak with a double paddle.

      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Amanda. We've been so impressed with our inflatable boards and are surprised with how much we love them! We've thought about buying kayak paddles for those days where we want to move faster and don't feel like standing up. Glad to hear that it's been working well for you!

    I really appreciate all this helpful information. I'll have to practice paddle boarding where I live and consider doing this trip. It's such an unusual and special vacation idea. I just visited Crystal River (the day after the hurricane) and drove south past these springs and I definitely want to go back there for a few days. Florida is beautiful in October.

      We're glad you found the info in the video helpful! So many people only think of beaches when they think of Florida, but these spring fed rivers have so much to offer! We hope you are able to get back to the area soon!

    I took my daughter on several kayak trips in Milton Fl near pensacola on the Cold Water Creek and the Blackwater Creek. Both 11 miles long and no way to paddle upstream. Not super deep, clear water, but a lot of dead head logs to dodge and a pretty swift current depending on how recent it rained. Check out Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center. We stayed in a cabin and did the zip line course in addition to cold water creek. But now I really want to check out the paddle board experience.

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for sharing, Bob. We definitely plan on bringing our boards with us and do some paddling when we finally do get up to the panhandle. The Milton paddle sounds fun. We've never actually paddled on a river with a fast current, but we definitely want to give it a try!

      I think they are only bad in shaded areas around rivers/creeks. So if you can avoid those, you should be ok!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  10 місяців тому

      We're glad you enjoyed the adventure! LOL yes it's a long time. We purposely don't drink too much along the way (only what's needed). Plus you are sweating a lot which usually makes you have to go less.
