@@Sabamonster It's also a huge misconception that it's mostly technique. Obviously technique improves with experience, but the main thing that separates a pro from a newer armwrestler is tendon strength as well as strength in the muscles specific to armwrestling, such as rise (radial deviation), cup, pronation, etc. Bodybuilders or average gym-goers don't train these muscles at all because it is not applicable to them thus they will be crushed by an actual armwrestler.

I'll agree he's very quick, and that gives him an edge on a lot of people. he also has a way better than ordinary (for his weight class) defensive hook. his pin here came from when he was in a losing position. his speed had nothing to do with that; more his defensive hook, and he probably just out-endured the dude for the pin.
And, yeah, if both people have competent technique, the stronger person will generally win. Big dude would be a monstrosity of a force to be dealt with if he got good on the table. surely, too much for Whisper.

No, it’s about power and both men have been armwrestling for a while now. It’s not like the little guy is a world champ and the big guy never pulled before. Technique only comes into play if you are strong enough in certain areas to pull it off.

this is a common misconception. the techniques take STRENGTH to pull off. yes, a weaker person with good technique can beat a much stronger person who has no clue what they're doing... but, if both parties have decent technique, it is, indeed, the stronger person that will generally win.
