Just commenting to say you did a good job on this. A good visual representation of most of the settings. Most guides on UA-cam just sit in the settings windows and talk about it without showing you anything. Well done. My girlfriend is back into Ark in 2022 and cant get rid of weird texture flickering and weird texture glitches randomly sticking out of the maps. Quite frustrating really. Have not been able to fix it at all even after this guide. I wanted to say what a good video it was, nonetheless.
Many thanks! I tried the new ´ascended´ version on my rtx 3080 but I could barely run it. So I installed the ´old´ Ark and I love the performance I get with your tweaks.
Thanks, I turned off the check boxes like you said and it improved everything. Now I can go all epic settings, and it loads textures better aswell when I start my game.
Like he said? If only. I hate tutorials where the OB doesn't speak. Sorry I don't get it and find it VERY irritating/frustrating. The music means you can't concentrate (well *I* can't!) - oh never mind, I've just spotted another one. Maybe he does.
thanks so much, on these settings (tweaked to my preference) my reasonably high end computer is no longer trying to eat itself while playing ark. fighting the lack of optimization tooth and nail with your guide
i dont personally find -novsync to work well visually for me in general since my monitor shows the dips in fps really easily for me so what i do is use the t.maxfps command to set the to 60 and its a much smoother experience overall but without vsync it will result in screen tearing so for me that works wonder mixed in with launching the game in low memory mode best fps along with all of these other settings and tips and tricks
Great video, had to reinstall my games on my computer and forgot my settings. Perfect visual explanation and I'm blown away by the difference. Thx for the video it helps a lot. Best setting vid to date.
What setting affects structures? Whenever I'm at a far away distance the textures on a wall look really bad, but whenever I'm really close, it looks perfectly fine.
Thanks heaps for the suggested settings. My settings are near identical to these, besides all low is on high. 3800X 6700XT 32GB DDR4 And only manage avg 55fps
Is it possible to get high graphics and high fps at the same time cause when I turn off something for fps it looks really weird but when I want graphics it gets really laggy
I've found that shadows from trees are BY FAR the most taxing on my pc. Try going into a dense forest with SSAO, distance field shadowing set to on, and general shadows set to epic. The shadows from each individual tree will be drawn on the ground with its maximum allowed distance, aswell as high shadow-resolution, creating a gloomy atmosphere that I enjoy, but damn if it isn't expensive for my graphics card. I dip into the 40s fps-wise in the heaviest areas (around 70,70 on your map, a cliff overlooking a river by the ocean, and a dense forest behind it)
I run all the best setting and my PC xan run it on server anywhere from 43 fps (most laggy and frame rate droping area in our base) to 97 fps (most unlagy area)
My ark server is like 80% bad weather (fog or w/e) and the sky and trees look so pixelated during this. Any advice? (i'm running a pretty good computer tbh)
I have a question, what settings does when I move further away thatch wall and wooden wall become ugly, like the pixel becomes distorted. What setting is it?
Sorry, but let me ask - why do any "graphics quality reviewers" ALWAYS have an "awl in one place" ?? WHY do you show "how it looks like a product", if in fact they will play at the level of "muzzle to the floor" ??? Why don't you show NEAR what grass / bushes / trees look like with different settings? What does the REFLECTION from the coastal (wet) strip look like ??? Show LOGS, their shadow on the ground/sand! Show shadows from buildings/animals/dinos. Yes, everything is "beautiful" from a distance, but as soon as you start playing, it makes you want to puke...
people keep saying to use fullscreen but this makes my game run significantly worse and when you alt tab it pauses the game then you have to spam esc key to get back in. this might be an AMD thing but I fully advise windowed fullscreen.
I play on a tv/monitor with 768p of resolution, and my antialising is crap in this game. Even if I put it to epic the distant water and shadows are just so broken. =(
my max resolution is 1940x1080 and my game looks like an arcade game when i play, i also get lots of frame rate spikes and my screen feels like its lagging behind my movement. do you know any way to fix it my any chance?
Sadly realistic video if you play PvP: Everyone will cheat with INI files and their game will look like a Nintendo 64 game. Good luck hiding anything or being sneaky at all.
"cheat", I mean kinda true, I would still consider it to be more scummy to use a fridge for god mode sniping or just raw aimbot rather than .ini, but still, its kinda true its cheating
@@simple_playz Although I wouldn't classify .ini in the same category as big exploits like the new gravity-freeze, god mode sniping, meshing or aimbot/aimhack, ini is counterable with skill, those listed above aren't

i think you have to run it in normal memory if you didn't already get an answer but, i didn't end up trying it myself i just didn't go to lunar, so not sure if it actually works or not.
You're not even explaining what any of these do. You're just giving your opinion on which setting you think people should set it to and then shoeing a comparison. When I see a comparison for the post-processing I see absolutely no difference so could you actually "Explain" What that option does as well as what the other graphics settings are actually doing technologically speaking instead of just showing us You didn't even show us the Enhance max distance mode or Subsurface scattering

If you have nvidia, use nvidia experience and use "optimize". Then change your settings back to preference. It worked for me
Tip also put view distance on high when using rhino u don t wanna get stopped when going for a giga if a rock just randomly appears
BRUH I JUST REALISED I WASN'T PLAYING ON MAX RESOLUTION SCALE, MY GAME LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER

eXCELLENT video. Thank you.
I always assumed post-processing did much more than that. I thought it affected like the glare from a sunset and such.
Great video. Really helped to see the side by side. Thank you!

i’m pretty sure if you set ur mesh level of detail all the way up you should minimize that issue
