Man those California vibes....the weather is already starting to go here in Seattle. I think its cool that you are just comfortable hopping on different bikes and riding them without issue.
I mean it is November haha, but regardless I still miss Seattle, some great roads up there! Also I'm back in Dallas and the weather here has been bi-polar so there is that. Thanks man, yeah its definitely a fun thing to do, but don't let the videos fool you, there is a little bit of getting used to each bike before I start filming, I am an experienced rider but definitely not a pro so some bikes do take a minute or two to get used to before I feel fully comfortable. As always I appreciate your continued support!
Owned mine for a while now....the only thing I can agree with is the windshield. They should have never came up with that joke of a windscreen and just plopped on their own parts catalog bigger one. The last time i had an accurate gas gauge was on my 2001 FZ1....never trust them. Also my first quickshifter and i just had to learn to keep on throttle when upshifting....so far i've been happy.
I didn't use the QS during the brake in period, now at 2000 kms it works perfectly,at the first 500 miles the gear box was a little bit hard, after the first service it was fine..
Yeah the quick shifter on my GSX-8S isnt super smooth either, I rode a few of my friends bikes and they seemed to have smoother quick shifters. I still use it, so maybe it's not as bad as the one you experienced there, but I definitely dont one handed shift thats for sure.
Yeah I'm thinking that Suzuki just hasn't quite figured out the programing with the QS and this new engine yet. Hopefully they can make it better, since I think the GSX-8S is a really solid bike and it would benefit from that fix.
250 miles on my 8S and the QS is not as smooth as I expected. I find it works much better if I pay attention to keeping the throttle held consistently open (up & down) where it is very smooth at low throttle openings but still notchy when twisting it harder or totally closed decelerating. Hopefully it willl smooth out as mentioned else where in in this comment section. With the fuel gauge the dealer told me the tank was full when I picked the bike up so I had that as a point of reference but as you said, not rreally necessary for the last bar to be red as long as it still flashes as a reserve alert.
Sounds like similar experiences, thanks for watching and sharing, much appreciated. I hope you are enjoying your 8S, I have a few more videos coming of my time on one.
The Vstrom 1000 of all years and the 800 have absolutely terrible windscreens that create horrible wind turbulence. It's such a shame because I love the Vstrom's but I sold mine in the end because no amount of after market screens and attachments could solve the issue. I'm on a BMW now with a Vstream screen and the wind is smooth and silent.
Like i commented on the 5 thinks you like about the vsrom 800de..i mentioned the windshield..but i have to disagree on the quick shifter but have nothing to compare it to but i love it feels smooth to me.. and i found aftermarket levers both adjustable for 60 bucks
Well and that is exactly my point, it levers are only $60 then they should just be included, as for the quick shifter, maybe it was just mine, or maybe to your point you have nothing to compare it to, but when I compare it to the one on the Hayabusa or my personal Triumph the one on the VSTROM is really bad.
@@FifthNorth you do make valid points. As I said it's the first bike I have owned with a quick shifter. I had a klr650 then a tenere 700 now the vsrom 800de..I grew up on dirt bikes and dual sports so transitioning to adventure bikes was fairly easy for me..I do still have a yamaha wr250r
Have you ridden a Suzuki Vstrom 800DE? What are your thoughts?

@@FifthNorth that makes sense. Still seems like you handle it well. For sure I enjoy the content. Cheers.
Im in San Diego, the vibes are real hahah

This looks like fun!!
I wanna hear some West Coast hip hop on the ride. Maybe some California Love for the next video about the 5 things you like🤷🏻♂️
Yeah YT music licensing rights don't go for that hahah

Hmmm I wonder if thats the issue then, this bike was still in the break in period when I rode it. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
