I came for the guitar, but your voice gave me goosebumps! Neil was before my time, but thanks to Saving Silverman I realized how awesome he is. Your voice is so similar you should do the drunken Neil by Will Ferrell parody at the parties too!

Marty! I have had so much fun just playing along with you to so many of these songs! You make it easy to learn, a joy to listen to and just plain fun! Sometimes you just want to pick up the guitar and play without months of learning a song! As far as I am concerned your lessons have been perfect for my needs! Looking forward to a lot more songs! Thanks!

Cool lesson. Beautiful guitar, sounds great on this Neil Diamond song. I say I am unhappy (not really) with how my Martin D16E sounds when playing Neil Diamond songs (not the half step down issue). Can I somehow tune my Martin so it sounds better on "pop" tunes? Sounds great on the more "bluesy" tunes. I play with a pick and fingerstyle at the same time (well not exactly at the same time) I am getting a Fishman loudbox mini (it is on layaway 575.00 ouch) and I am hoping with the effects from the Fischman I can get a better "Neil Diamond" sound out of my Martin. I had a girlfriend that I nicknamed "Party Marti". Haven's seen her in 40 years.

On the lines "I'll have me a time with a poor man's lady" , "Don't need to say please to no man for a happy tune" and "Find us a dream that don't ask no questions" try a Dm and a G instead. That's the way it is in my Neil Diamond songbook.

It's capoed at the 6th fret. Then the final he moves the capo to 7th fret. It's G, C, Am, and D are the chords relative to the 6th fret. He is playing it in a different key.
